Street interviews, listener call-ins, vinyl gluttery, sporadic normalcy, original floperas and fiktion, blatant talking over songs, politix, tenderness, and a vague undercurrent of angst. Right up your alley!

That's it for another episode of The Dusty Show. I hope you enjoyed it! I have enjoyed doing these DigiDusty shows. The digital realm offers new creative possibilities, but I can't see abandoning my dual-cassette decks, especially not after repairman/genius Mark Slaughter has revived two "new" ones from some old carcasses. Fantastic! Hope you are having a happy summer. My wife and I are. Love the hot weather. Well, since I'm talking weather, I'll go. I do appreciate your listening my friends. Please email me: dusty@wfmu.org. I love hearing from you. DON'T FORGET - Tuesday Morning EARLY 3am - 6am - AUGUST 16th - Julie and I will throw down on Dark Night Of The Soul, and we'll be looking for YOU! Be there. Until then .... take care and ...

  6:06pm
phillip:

That first interview knows whats up!
  6:06pm
david:

Dusty redo!
  6:06pm
KLAYY:

HI
  6:07pm
Listener Dave From Seattle:

This show sounds familiar.
  6:07pm
Matt from Springfield:

Hi Clay!
I actually listened to the end of Donna's archive from last week, to hear how far the show got before it crapped out! Anxiously awaiting the "turning point", coming up soon...
  6:08pm
KLAYY:

Scared of "turning point" have Zebra LP just in case.
  6:08pm
david:

we have a potential for a triple-david threat if other david shows up...
  6:10pm
Matt from Springfield:

You made it!

Actually the way the CD made the "skipping" sound last week, it was somehow well timed! Too bad the rest of the show didn't follow.
  6:10pm
KLAYY:

Rest of the show to follow today and NEXT WEEK

Analog returns
  6:11pm
KLAYY:

I got so ripped off by a mechanic today and feel like a total wuss. Why can't I have massive arms?????
  6:11pm
Deeter:

That guy sounded like a clueless douche.
  6:11pm
david:

The end of DigiDusty?
  6:12pm
KLAYY:

The welcome DETH of DIGIDUSTY
  6:14pm
Matt from Springfield:

DigiDusty could work--if you brought a keychain drive with an audio file, without burning on a CD-R. No corruption errors, you can probably play MP3 or WAV on the station's board...
  6:14pm
Aborigine:

I was never that good at playing the digiredust.
  6:15pm
will:

Promotional Copy = "Word Up" by Legacy
  6:15pm
KLAYY:

Julie says we are past the crisis point.
  6:16pm
KLAYY:

Legacy, Will? i knew the collective mind of FMU listeners would prevail.
  6:16pm
Aborigine:

But do we get the crisis's point?
  6:17pm
will:

k, hope i didn't ruin the mystery for ya
  6:18pm
Listener Dave From Seattle:

Word up!
  6:18pm
KLAYY:

I saw James Gang with Tommy Bolin and Roy Kenner in 76. This motivational guy is Vince Lombardi, Jr.
  6:19pm
david:

Crisis averted. Personally I was willing to give the skip half an hour, but as it turns out the actual show is looking like another homerun.
  6:19pm
Frances:

Jeremiah DENIED! poor bullfrog
  6:20pm
KLAYY:

Yes Frances, I feel your pain there.
  6:21pm
phillip:

That is one smart robot.
  6:21pm
Frances:

he always had some mighty fine wine. Somehow it didn't seem weird to be an 8 year old kid singing about boozy frogs on my way home from school. Hm. ps: duchamp is a favorite.
  6:22pm
Ex Detroiter:

If you want some great Detroit scenes, check out the recent Dennis Coffey cover of Cee Lo's "F**k You" on youtube...
  6:23pm
Matt from Springfield:

Wow, great arrangements and vocals on this Peppermint Rainbow!
  6:23pm
KLAYY:

Cecile, Ike, Glenn, Other David, all gone. Popularity flagging. Digi-Flagging. I Always have some mighty fine whine.
  6:23pm
david:

This entire Peppermint Rainbow album (from which this is the single I think) is great.
  6:24pm
Ex Detroiter:

KLAYY is the Whinemeister General, but we like him just the same...
  6:25pm
Night Al:

So what was wrong wit the Jeep? How Much to fix?
  6:25pm
KLAYY:

Bushings, Oil Change, I can't talk about it.
  6:26pm
Retell Memory:

digital dusty rocks as much as classic clay
  6:26pm
Night Al:

  6:27pm
KLAYY:

I'm all about Beady Eye this week. Liam.
  6:27pm
Julie:

every weird sound effect I'm like THE CD THE CD
  6:28pm
KLAYY:

Hope you guys like my Garageband bvacking music I "composed" two drum 'n bass things later in show.
  6:28pm
Ike:

Hey hey. I'm not entirely gone. Tuning in and out. Not all of this music is my bag, but you knew that. :) Klayy, you should keep in mind that loads of p.m. drive listeners are in cars, so don't comment. Plus, you prob. have mucho turnover from Fabs.
  6:28pm
Night Al:

What happened to your arm...that's a mole?!?!
  6:28pm
Ex Detroiter:

I have lived in NYC since 1979, and I have yet to actually deal with an honest mechanic here in the city. They have a business plan where no matter what you bring the car in with, they are going to charge 300 minimum, shoot for 700 if possible, and if anything significant is really wrong they go for four figures.

I get my car repaired now while visiting relatives in Baltimore -- always a decent price, and no magic add-ons to jack up the bill.
  6:28pm
phillip:

HAHA, mole.
  6:29pm
Brass Knuckles:

I've never really cared much for air. I could take it or leave it.
  6:29pm
Retell Memory:

super suave hendrex beatles medoly
  6:29pm
KLAYY:

Used parts, too, I think. i CAN'T talk about it.
  6:31pm
Julie:

He's got smoke coming out of his ears
  6:31pm
phillip:

That creepy pervy man laugh reminds me of the old Tex Avery cartoons.
  6:31pm
Night Al:

Freaking cars anyway! Neccesary evils? I think so!
  6:31pm
Matt from Springfield:

Somehow he just didn't sound sincere in his "Don't worry!..." I couldn't say that truthfully myself.
  6:31pm
Frances:

love this "Folks! Don't WORRY!"
  6:31pm
Listener Dave From Seattle:

Don't underestimate Clay.
  6:32pm
KLAYY:

Oil change, but no handprints on the hood.
  6:33pm
Night Al:

Oil changes will have a shiny new oil filter under the car...
  6:33pm
KLAYY:

Man, I had this tight segue and there was a digi-gap .... something could go wrong here in a minute. Something did not get slid into the right plce. devil voice is from LEGEND
  6:33pm
Ike:

Car-wise, I relate to youse guys. Many mechanics are sleazy scum-slurping bastards. Found some OK ones in NJ though. Sadly, not easily accessible for my NYC friends.
  6:34pm
KLAYY:

This one was in JC!
  6:34pm
Night Al:

Actually digging your digital mix my friend!
  6:35pm
KLAYY:

TY Al!
  6:35pm
Night Al:

garageband and clips are working back there!
  6:36pm
KLAYY:

Show will devolve soon ... had 40-minutes of real stuff ... then by-product and filler invade. Have I told you lately, audience, that I love you?
  6:36pm
Matt from Springfield:

Quality hippy-age there! Another amazing interview!
  6:37pm
david:

Well this guy sure did not need to be prompted for a message of peace and love!
  6:37pm
Matt from Springfield:

@Clay: If you tell us, we'll tell you! :D
  6:37pm
KLAYY:

TY Matt Julie and I are discussing the possibility of a Duomvirate next Tuesday morning - 3am-6am.
  6:38pm
Mikecabe:

That guy should be a regular...more positive than Fabio ; )
  6:39pm
Matt from Springfield:

YES! DUOMVIRATE!
Or Bi-umvirate, Di-umvirate, although I like the "Duo" emphasis--it represents Teamwork!
  6:40pm
Retell Memory:

is this music new clay?
  6:40pm
Ex Detroiter:

Prepare yourselves for the Dark Night of the Doomvirate, BWAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
  6:41pm

phillip:

Likewise, i will keep listening but start cooking.
  6:45pm
KLAYY:

All these records go from my turntable to cassette deck (the side that worked) and through the headphone jack to my computer. Not the best fidelity.
  6:46pm
