Order and disorder in a freeform haze of terribly-played guitars, shorted-out electronics, found audio detritus, strange sounds from strange lands all around. Psych-punk-junk, collage, even pop. Lots of in-studio live performances to boot.

The Men  live in the WFMU studio   Options Engineered by Ernie Indridat & Ruaraidh Sanachan    The Men are a raucous four-piece post-punk combo out of Brooklyn whose new release "Leave Home" on Sacred Bones Records has cobbled together a pile of not-so-pounding influences (drone, Krautock, pop) and sets them into car-crash mode. Howling guitars, rocked-up Suicide references, this could be the great crossover Amphetamine Reptile spacerock band if they were around circa 1989. Seriously driving punk rock with intricate, layered structures amidst the raw power. The Men on the net. Lineup: Nick Chiericozzi, Mark Perro, Chris Hansell, Rich Hamis. Songs today: Nikkis Cube / Take Me To the Other Side / Bataille / Oh Yoko / Open Your Heart / Think / Nick Youth    2:00:33 ()

  Tue. 8/2/11 3:30pm Ike:

Can't you hear my love buzz? Because I can hear your love buzz, and it's awfully high-pitched. You need to adjust the harmonics on your stridulation.
  Tue. 8/2/11 3:31pm jaycjay:

Heh... I've run sound for The Men, so I can say DCE, yes. They are.
  Tue. 8/2/11 3:31pm jaycjay:

"If this label disappoints, well, then, that is your problem, buddy…" quote from Dennis Typhus (not really, but I’d like if he said that)

  Tue. 8/2/11 4:36pm Cheri Pi:

"Long enough" Boogie.
  Tue. 8/2/11 4:39pm Ike:

Ha ha Cheri Pi, they should totally change their name to Long Enough Boogie! Or press one of those locked-groove vinyl records of an endless loop of the earlier repeating-ish part of that track.
  Tue. 8/2/11 4:41pm frenchee:

Love that Flourishing track~
  Tue. 8/2/11 4:42pm Cheri Pi:

@Ike-you've inspired me to see how much I can drink tonight while playing a locked groove record...
  Tue. 8/2/11 4:53pm Ike:

Heh. I rarely drive women to drink. But then I'm guessing you don't need to be driven very far to drink? ;)
Tue. 8/2/11 4:54pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

Tue. 8/2/11 4:54pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

  Tue. 8/2/11 4:55pm Mike East:

as long as you don't drive yourself to drink, cuz then you have no way to get home. Don't drink and drive, folks.
  Tue. 8/2/11 4:55pm D.Lactose:
