Doctor Pharamceutigo:
Concussion and Kenneth: Separated at Birth? "Symptoms include irregular sleeping patterns and difficulty with reasoning, concentrating, and performing everyday activities. Affective results include crankiness, tearfulness, and displays of emotion that are inappropriate to the situation. Other common symptoms include restlessness, lethargy, and irritability." Is there an SSRI for that?

classic kid story : rainy day, my mum told me to grab her hand, didn't listen, broke and open my chin. oh, and my brother throw me a stool once and thus breaking my nose, ask Dave B, i still have it broken.
|
Wed. 7/20/11 11:02am

Seems like just yesterday Ken had that persistent gastroenteritis, but I think it was last year.
|
Wed. 7/20/11 11:05am
fred von helsing:
kid story: i found a broken baseball bat and was riding along clanking it on the front wheel and boom! it jumped to the other side of the wheel and jammed it and the bike went ass-over-head and dropped me on the asphalt POW! lesson learned
|
Wed. 7/20/11 11:05am
other david:
There's a sordid reason why I went frantically to the tap, but it's before the watershed hour, so I can't divulge.
|
Wed. 7/20/11 11:06am
hamburger / london:
as a kid - stood on a wall. fell off wall. landed on forehead - might explain a lot :D
|
Wed. 7/20/11 11:07am
Dave B:
Junior high gym class doing a "crab walk" relay race one rainy day. Wound up fracturing my thumb but didn't know it for a day or so later. My english teacher saw my thumb (at this point rather bulbous and kinda purple in color) and sent me home and to the doctor... I got out of gym class for the next two months as a result (and that thumb never really grew at the same rate as the other.) And Pierre - I didn't notice your nose was broken...
|
Wed. 7/20/11 11:08am
hamburger / london:
and as a kid, played sumo wrestling by the pool, thrown into pool, back of head hit the curb - also might explain a lot :)
|
Wed. 7/20/11 11:09am
still b/p:
Also on bike, most foolish: tightening the wingnut on my front wheel with my (teenaged) foot as I shot down a hill. Toes in spokes, spectacular flip, crash, smash and scrape.
|
Wed. 7/20/11 11:09am
other david:
I've somehow managed to avoid a broken nose despite running into a patio door.. twice.
|

cpt. bismarck-quuh:
i just read spleen used as a... not as a body part. spleen is an appropriate response when a cultural revolution has failed.

yippies turned to spleen
|
Wed. 7/20/11 11:11am
Robert:
I never hurt myself seriously playing rugby or bicycling, though I did plenty of both, but the 1st day I went out for paintball, I fell against a boulder and tore the PCL of my right knee. A few yrs. earlier I was just warming up for basketball in the parking lot where I worked, tore muscles in my left calf, and was laid up for weeks.
|
Wed. 7/20/11 11:11am
Dave B:
and of all the multiple times I've ever been stitched up, its always been my face. (might explain a lot too!) "Lucy, you have some spleening to do!"
|
Wed. 7/20/11 11:12am
fœfœ (pronounced F0F0):

Robert:
Ken may be getting sick and hurt, but at least it's because he's DOING ENJOYABLE STUFF that most people our age don't attempt. I sort of have the same thing in slow motion: heart disease from enjoying so much eating.
|
Wed. 7/20/11 11:16am
fœfœ (pronounced F0F0):
other david: Yes, that's where my life got flipped, turned upside down
|
Wed. 7/20/11 11:17am
pierre:
@ DaveB, take a look at the phot, (somebody on the comment board told me it was a noticed broken nose) and your story remind of something that happened to me to. A girl friend shoot my pinky as i was stopping the ball from entering the goal as a marvelously ridiculous goal keeper…
|
Wed. 7/20/11 11:17am
Robert:
At least he didn't get his balloon chair into the air. That would've been scary so close to the bldgs. with those tricky winds near the Hudson.
|
Wed. 7/20/11 11:18am
jbm:
Skiing, the trail took this big loop, but there was what looked like a great shortcut! I just had to go down one hill and back up the next to rejoin the trail. To make it back up without climbing, I clearly had to retain as much speed as possible. So zoom I go down, and then when I expected to transition at top speed from going down to heading back up, it was just like a cartoon: skis stuck right into the bank of the up-bound slope, and DOINNG! skis stop dead, I keep going, projected out of the bindings and through the air. Busted an arm.
|
Wed. 7/20/11 11:18am

Wed. 7/20/11 11:20am
Robert:
Apparently it was riding a wake, and I made a lame joke about how you shouldn't do that in the wake of 18 wheelers like that.
|
Wed. 7/20/11 11:20am
Ike:
Woah! I just got here. Bonus Liz, yeah, nifty!
