Listener comments!

  9:06am
Wild Neil:

Where are the comments?
  9:06am
Wild Neil:

Love this old-school Jazz, very good for Solidworks. Thank you!
  9:07am
hamburger / london:

I don't know!!!
  9:07am
ausmanx:

comments are in the ether as potential wisdom... 11 pm here is sydney, so good evening Mr McDowell
  9:08am
pierre:

Jazzy Bonjour to you Scott, and to all the listeners extraordinaires !
  9:10am
Wild Neil:

I live in Buffalo, NY and some dude had a FMU sticker on his pickup truck!
  9:10am
Scott:

Is there a comments problem? Looking normal from this end. Hi everybody!
  9:13am
tomasz.:

morning Scott, great way to start.
  9:14am
fred:

Good morning Scott!
@pierre: I just got word from Lucas, he'll be at the R.Stevie Moore gig Sunday
  9:16am
BSI:

...comment board probably still has a nasty cramp from that spasm during Fabio/Clay yesterday...
  9:17am
BSI:

...I know I do...
  9:18am
tomasz.:

Wild Neil: i got identified by a fellow FMU listener yesterday in a sandwich shop in Nantwich, the hugely provincial English market town (pop: c. 12,000) i live in. he recognised me by my fashionable "radio bear" t-shirt from last year's marathon. then we talked about some of our favourite shows for a bit. i was so surprised by this chance meeting i almost dropped my coffee; it seems hugely unlikely to randomly meet a fellow listener living where i do. maybe somewhere hip and cutting-edge like That London, but Nantwich?! at least i know there's at least 2 of us now.
  9:25am
listener gary:

who's playing all this great music?
  9:27am
Scott:

My kidnappers. They're forcing Don Byas on me. And forcing me to type this in the comments.
  9:29am
12539:

Jazzily intoxicated.
  9:29am
pierre:

  9:33am
Marmalade Kitty:

  9:46am

Meditations on a pair of wire cutters! I love the story behind that one.
  9:47am
listener gary:

my compliments to your kidnappers
  9:47am
Wild Neil:

@Tomasz-
It's like when I was in Lwow, Ukraina and I heard English and it was a doctor from New Jersey...recognized the accent! Small world indeed!
This sounds a little King Crimson-ISH
  9:47am
Cecile:

I love don byas.
  9:48am
Scott:

Stockholm syndrome.
  9:52am
Cecile:

these guys blow me away. I love the rock and pop and country of the time, but these guys were in another universe musically.
  9:53am
Scott:

Totally!
  9:54am
Cecile:

As I get older, I totally understand the jazz and classical "snobs" of the time, and their impatience with pop music. I disagree with it, but I understand it.
  9:56am
Marmalade Kitty:

Thank you for not applauding.. you dig?!
  9:58am
Cecile:

And I'm no Joni Mitchell fan, but I still have to give her props for doing Mingus. That, and the Newsweek article on jazz was how a lot of people my age found out about him.
  10:00am
Marmalade Kitty:

I found out through "the COSBY show" :)
  10:00am
miketp:

  11:23am
Cecile:

hey, if you iPod/iPhone people haven't checked it out, I recommend the Radio Soulwax app. They are not going 2Many DJs stuff right now. Instead they're doing 1 hour shows with cut and paste animation! You can DL or stream. It's COOL.
  11:24am
William:

Uhh the shoe-shoppy samba pop vibe is dreadful.
  11:25am
Wild Neil:

@TOMASZ-
I grew up in the exurbs of New Jersey on a Farm, yet was STRONGLY attracted to unusual movies (You're A Big Boy Now, on WPIX), music (Adam Ant), art (Salvador Dali)..some folks in the know about the arts do
NOT wish to live in a big city and LIKE living around nature....
  11:33am
Cecile:

And good for you! People like you were huge influences on me growing up.
  11:34am
Azam:
