  9:24pm
Martha:

Hi Richard - thanks for checking in -
  9:25pm
Richard from Venezuela:

sorry for asking, but: you will be in the summer schedule?
  9:26pm
Martha:

No worries about asking- the summer schedule is not officially out yet so I can't speak for anyone else but yes I will be on it - same bat time, same bat channel -
  9:29pm
Richard from Venezuela:

Glad to read that. Thanks to you and Ken Freedman.

Hail to the Oz
  9:31pm
Martha:

Yes - so happy when I saw this reissue tonight -
  9:34pm
mark:

Guess it's time to replace copy I had but sold long ago for quick cash - it was autographed - by Ozzie. I'm an idiot.
  9:39pm
Martha:

Ouch!
  9:46pm
Richard from Venezuela:

  10:24pm
Martha:

Hey - thanks! And a good evening to you all as well -
  10:29pm
Richard from Venezuela:

Hi Marmalade.
  10:34pm
Marmalade Kitty:

I nearly always use the wfmu flash player. Is their a difference in quality between the audio formats, do you think? Flash player vs Real player etc..?
  10:36pm
Martha:

Others are far better equipped to comment on this - I am kind of (actually, totally) uninformed on the subject -
  10:40pm
Marmalade Kitty:

yes, me too.. I'm not at all technically minded with all the nick nacks! me- ?*-*?
  10:45pm
Martha:

Me neither - I don't even have an mp3 player - gotta fix that when I get some $$$ -
  10:46pm
Marmalade Kitty:

the 128k stream sound quality is very clean.. I'm guessing that the higher k increases audio quality.. anyone please?
  10:47pm
hamburger:

more k = more data = more audio goodness MK!
  10:50pm
Marmalade Kitty:

I don't know jack**!! but I learn as i stumble along :) Thanks hamburger
  10:52pm
Marmalade Kitty:

128k it is then!..all the better to hear you with, Martha!!
  10:54pm
Ike:

Not 100% sure, but I *think* the Flash stream is a roughly 48k or 64k AAC+ stream -- producing sound quality much like 96k MP3 (maybe). Or even 128k-ish MP3. Not sure. Compare them yourself and see. (AAC+ is a special type of stream, specialized for low bitrates, IIRC. Less bandwidth for good quality.)
  10:59pm
jaycjay:

I usually use teh 128k stream, just because on my system there's no way I can equalize the sound if I use the flash player, and I like to tweak it a bit. If I leave the EQ off, though, I certainly can't HEAR any difference in quality between the two (speaking as a long-time live audio engineer).
  11:00pm
jaycjay:

And of course, all that really matters is what you hear.
  11:03pm
Marmalade Kitty:

sounds about right. Not a massive diference in quality, just that bit cleaner

@jaycjay: why can't you equalize with the flash?
  11:06pm
Marmalade Kitty:

oh i see..I run audio through my stereo.. thus I'm able to equalize.. I think?
  11:09pm
jaycjay:

I used to run it through my stereo, when I used my desktop PC. Now I'm using a laptop so don't want to bother with tethering it to cables. So, the 128k stream through a player with EQ control is the best I can do..
  11:15pm
Martha:

I'm def. gonna bookmark this playlist for future reference - thanks all -
  11:22pm
Marmalade Kitty:

Great show Martha, you should defiately do that!
