Meghan:

Morning all! How's the resin rash Chuck?

Yay Annie!
  6:05am
Chuck:

Still active, unfortunately, Meg. I won't be getting away from it any time soon either. Got 14 castings to make along with the 22 parts molds for them. Ugh!
  6:06am
Meghan:

Was it that resin you were telling me to try out? If so.... I might have to pass! ha!
  6:08am
Chuck:

Yes. The fault is my own. Shouldn't have been wearing t-shirt and shorts, but it's been so freaking hot this week. I'd suffocate in long sleeves and pants...
  6:09am
Chuck:

Remember wearing "bunny suits" in summer? Buckets of sweat!
  6:10am

heheh - I was just gonna ask about using Tyvek bunny suits...
  6:11am

Meghan:

  7:05am
Dave B:

BUCKWHEAT!
  7:05am
Dave B:

and is that Jaye P Morgan of "The Gong Show" fame?
  7:06am
Meghan:

oh I don't know.....
  7:07am
Chuck:

Possibly, Dave. She made an appearance on "The Odd Couple" once singing "Happy and Peppy and Bursting with Love" if I remember right. heheh...
  7:08am
dirty old man:

If you need to fill space today, look for "Steam Heat" by Peggy Lee or at least save it for your steam theme.
  7:09am
maestroso:

Yes, indeed, that's her. She was quite a good jazz singer and a very funny comedian. I worked at the same club with her back in the 80's.
  7:10am
Chuck:

This is SUCH a goofy song! Makes me smile though...
  7:10am
Dave B:

Jaye P Morgan's comment at the end of this clip is classic:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDxDYIQL6Nc
  7:14am
Chuck:

Where's Elwyn?! He needs to see that clip, DB!
  7:16am
dirty old man:

When did email become the "old way"?
  7:17am
Meghan:

When people only started communicating via Twitter and Facebook....
  7:18am
Dave B:

Just checked Google Chat, and no sign of Elwyn.... must be looking for 'droids...
  7:20am
Dave B:

  7:22am
Chuck:

Hum, must be some brand of ripple, Dave. Ha!
  7:22am
dirty old man:

Dave B: Thanks for the video link, pretty weird.
  7:23am
Dave B:

You are welcome DoM.... Sharing is caring!
  7:28am
Chuck:

It's gotta be Deke Dickerson in this combo!
  7:29am
KevinWho:

deke = outstanding
  7:32am
Chuck:

Deke would give RHH a run for the money, KevinWho!
  7:33am
jeff p:

just got here. is it me or has there been an awful lot of songs already played today?
  7:34am
Chuck:

Yes, Jeff P. A lot, but far from awful!
  7:35am
jeff p:

heh. i haven't been out of bed for very long. my word choice is not stellar at this time... :-)
  7:36am
Chuck:

Needs more reverb, Meg. heheh....
  7:36am
Meghan:

ha! yeah no joke...... still no clue why it was like that last week.....
  7:37am
jeff p:

no, there's plenty of reverb on this one, there was just a bunch of delay last week
  7:39am
Elwyn:

Dang! Missed the start of the interview! Gonna need to visit the archives this week!
  7:40am
Meghan:

And there he is.......
  7:40am
Chuck:

There you are, Elwyn! Back track through the comments, DB has a link you ought to see...
  7:44am
Elwyn:

Does he hate weddings because he's divorced?
I hate weddings because it's always my friends getting married and not me, weddings are really boring and repetitive (I think every wedding I've been to has had the same bits of the Bible: Adam and Eve, stuff about love from Corinthians 1:13, occassionally those "controversial" passages about the wife obeying the husband and the husband being responsible for her spiritual well-being).

YAWN!
  7:48am
Meghan:

I hate weddings too. It is rare to go to a fun wedding. You are usually stuck at a boring table, having to be all dressed up (even though you usually hang out with that person wearing jeans and tshirts). Crazy big weddings can be fun. I have been luck to have been to more none religious weddings than anything else!
  7:49am
Elwyn:

I want RHH to afficiate my wedding and to bring the nuns with the pasties AND expect all my Christian friends to come... and I want Yo La Tengo to be the wedding band.
  7:49am
jeff p:

Jennie & I had a fun wedding. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
  7:50am
Chuck:

Guess I've been lucky. Most of the weddings that I've been to were of the unusual type and I actually had fun at them.
  7:51am
Chuck:

My college buddy, Bill's wedding back in '84 was awesome! Great wedding band at the reception with crazed dancing!
  7:51am
Meghan:

My wedding was good, but I was soooooooooooo hung over, so I really wanted everyone to go home so I could go to bed....... I'd do it again, but this time no drinking the night before!
  7:56am
Elwyn:

I fell asleep at the last wedding I went to.

The best wedding I went to was the first - it was all my friends from the fencing club and the reception had a boat ride, drinks outdoors then dinner inside with a bushdance.

Wow! I got a mention! :-)

This part of the interview can be taken totally out of context: "I got his number", "for awhile he was living with me" etc. :-)
  7:58am
Elwyn:

http://guitarhero.wikia.com/wiki/Psychobilly_Freakout
  7:59am
anne:

HELLO MEGHAN!!! don't hafta go into work til late, tuning in, i miss my fmu!!
  7:59am
Dave B:

Hey Chuck, Sam and Eva were married on Halloween - total costume wedding.
  8:00am
Marc:

I don't know who this person is.
  8:01am
Chuck:

Far Freakin' Out, Dave! Must've been a pisser!
  8:01am
Meghan:

HELLO ANNE!!!! woohoo!

Marc, this is Reverend Horton Heat...... youtube him..... learn, love, respect!
  8:02am
Dave B:

and during my married years, we had one wedding party here in the states, and one in Japan - full Japanese regalia

Alas, I didn't go to the wedding, but saw the pictures. Sam and Eva are characters, to say the least. I'll do the facebook intro thing for ya
  8:03am
Chuck:

Cool!
  8:05am
KevinWho:

terrific interview, great questions and long, uninterrupted answers
  8:06am
Chuck:

Jeez, I don't blame the Rev. Studio engineers with a f@#king attitude.
  8:07am
Meghan:

I am amazed that the sound check is coming through the microphone.....
  8:08am
Chuck:

RHH needs to have his OWN recording studio...
  8:10am
Dave B:

Those Digi-Field recorders are hyper sensitive...
  8:11am
Meghan:

I need to find me one for my own.....
  8:12am
KevinWho:

aw, "Hot Tomato Man" Rev!
  8:13am
Stevel:

Nice job. Great way to start my morning.
  8:13am
glenn:

out of curiosity, is there a song titled diamond in the rough? there almost has to be, but i can't recall ever hearing one.
  8:14am
Chuck:

It was sort of a given the Rev was a Texan from the get go...
  8:15am
Meghan:

Shine on you crazy diamond....... but not sure about the rough.....

thanks Stevel..... It was definitely a fun interview. Much easier to interview someone face to face.....
  8:15am
Dave B:

jeff p:

meghan, have you seen the zoom h series of recorders? jennie got an h4 a number of years ago and it's friggin' great
  8:18am
Meghan:

I really want the one we have here at the station. It's great. Plus I already know how to use it!

http://pro-audio.musiciansfriend.com/product/Sony-PCMD50-Portable-Linear-PCM-Digital-Recorder?sku=241731&src=3WFRWXX&ZYXSEM=0&CAWELAID=89323934

this buster poindexter has not aged well ... i think maybe the drums need more reverb!

  8:21am
Dave B:

the zoom Q3HD has the bennies of video as well

I LOVE GADGETRY!
  8:21am
jeff p:

@Elwyn: yeah, that's the one my wife has. Great, great product. Dirt cheap.
  8:22am
Dave B:

@KevinWho - NEEDS MORE COWBELL!
  8:25am
glenn:

well, if it had to be done, john prine's a good choice.
  8:26am
Meghan:

Jeff P- the Sony one is what we use when we go to Primavera Sound. that is what we plug into the boards to record the bands....
  8:29am
jeff p:

That's why I figured the H4 (or the current model) would be great. Not only can you use the built-in mics (which are pretty good) you can use two external xlr mics w/phantom power as well. You can borrow jennie's at some time to try it out
  8:29am
Chuck:

I could do a field recording with the gear I have now. Trouble is it would take 6-8 pieces of equipment and set up time. Did it for my former band...
  8:31am
Elwyn:

@Jeff: I love my Zoom. My biggest worry is getting busted by security so I usually hold it or set up a tiny stand and cover it. Most of my problems are human error such as forgetting to hit record and check it, being bumped by people and once I dropped it to avoid some guy who was walking past.
  8:31am
Meghan:

ewww, no need for lugging equipment. hand held all the way!
  8:31am
Chuck:

Oh, and that reminds me. Jeff P, do you know anyone who may be interested in a Tascam 688 Midistudio 8-track unit? I already asked Dave about anyone he may know...
  8:31am
Elwyn:

@Meghan: That was a really nice transition between Cooper and Priest.
  8:32am
Meghan:

Chuck send me the info. I'll ask around here at the station..... people here are always buying and selling equipment. Take a picture and send me the info on it.
  8:34am
Chuck:

Okay, will do, Meghan...
  8:35am
jeff p:

Chuck, everyone I know is all digital now at home. Tho I have some outboard gear to get rid of (Just have to test it out - the price was right for me to get it in bulk). I'll keep ya'll posted. MOTLEY CRÜE!!!!
  8:35am
Chuck:

It is, of course, analog technology from early '90s. Some folks like analog though. (and it weighs a freaking ton!)
  8:35am
Elwyn:

Before I forget, does anyone want to donate money to the MS Society? I am doing the 9 km walk in a stormtrooper costume. Online donations can be made at:

  8:37am
Cheri Pi:

Loving this RAWK set.
  8:37am
Dave B:

\m/ (>_<) \m/

RAWK!
  8:38am
Chuck:

I'll see what I can scrape up for ya, Elwyn...
  8:38am
Elwyn:

Thanks Chuck!
  8:38am
Dave B:

ditto Elwyn....
  8:40am
Chuck:

Yuppers! VU, Baby!
  8:41am

  8:42am
Jim Devoid:

yeah, that was me..forgetting my name and all...
  8:43am
Meghan:

hehe..... Judas Priestess.......
  8:43am
jeff p:

Done, Elwyn
  8:44am
Dave B:

One of my favorite albums of all time. Stellar additional members - Eno, Belew, Worrell, Hendryx.

And Belew's guitar solo all chopped up by Eno is twisted
  8:48am
Dave B:

Oh, Meghan...sorry I skipped detention. Will bring some of my 80s DVDs next time. Did you try out that sound card?
  8:49am
Chuck:

And also done, Elwyn...

Oh, one of my all time favorite Cure albums, Meg!
  8:50am
Meghan:

I did! I used it for the sock hop and Detention. I even had another DJ come take a look at it too wondering how I was doing that! ha! It works great! I'll buy it off ya!
  8:50am
Jim Devoid:

JP all non-dood cover band...almost tempted to also see Misstallica (same deal, but they only play form the 1st 3 albums - thus keeping it "pure").
  8:51am
Dave B:

Cool deal. It is a sweet little device! Glad you like. We'll talk off line.
  8:52am
Meghan:

so no hoooha! or yeah yeah's from Misstallica then......
  8:52am
Dave B:

@Jim Devoid - kinda like Lez Zeppelin?

http://www.lezzeppelin.com/
  8:52am
annie:

  8:53am
Chuck:

  8:53am
Meghan:

  8:53am
Elwyn:

I'll try not to get killed by any Australia Ewoks during the walk (aka koalas)...
  8:54am
jeff p:

there's Hell's Belles and Cheap Chick, too
  8:54am
Dave B:

@Elwyn - you're #1 here at the Park...
  8:55am
Dave B:

and for Elwyn, there is AC/DShe

http://www.acdshe.com.au/
  8:57am
Chuck:

It's a daily goal for me to NOT get eaten by a wild animal, Elwyn. HA!
