  Tue. 4/19/11 7:13pm dale:

do air traffic controllers get real beds? or do they bring little rugs with them to nap on the floor like we did in kiddygarten? And if they have beds, who changes the sheets?
  Tue. 4/19/11 7:16pm Zachary:

I believe the controllers have to change their own sheets.

Here is a good video from C-SPAN about UAV's:

  Tue. 4/19/11 7:18pm Listener Terry:

So, it seems to me that something that cuts across (almost) all of the things that you have talked about is the systematic manipulation of language to prevent critical thinking. ($cientology is a perfect example of this.) Also the pandering to magical thinking ("Truthiness", Jesus, Birtherism, Climate Change Denial, etc.) Your thoughts?
  Tue. 4/19/11 7:22pm Thoughts:

Or magical-thinking mantras or advertising slogans such as "hope and change"
  Tue. 4/19/11 7:23pm dale:

  Tue. 4/19/11 7:27pm dale:

i was in the marketing dept for ny power authority who owned ip3 for a while. tons of fines for operators asleep, leaking pipes etc. so it was offline like 75% of the time until nrc gave the go ahead - it really was like homer simpson was running the place
  Tue. 4/19/11 7:27pm Zachary:

I couldn't agree with you more Terry and Thoughts. People are exposed to safe media that does not force them to challenge their beliefs, thoughts, or views. Why challenge yourself when you can eat a convenient fast food dinner, watch television, and converse about sports?

Questioning yourself and critically thinking about the world around you is the key to progress.
  Tue. 4/19/11 7:28pm sara:

"If you've haven’t intimidated anyone, you have nothing to worry about our intimidation of you"
  Tue. 4/19/11 7:31pm Listener Terry:

Apparently, being TOO docile and cooperative with the TSA is ALSO a potential red flag....

  Tue. 4/19/11 7:37pm Listener Terry:

A non-jewish male is called a "shaygets". It isn't so much rotting meat as non-kosher meats and other things that impart "ritual impurity".
Tue. 4/19/11 7:38pm A. in Essex Co. NJ:

You're just turning the beer on too much and causing it to prematurely e-beer-ulate.

  Tue. 4/19/11 8:01pm jaycjay:

Unfortunately, the robot was to be used as nothing more than an intercom with which to communicate with the guy. So he didn't "fight it off" so much as ignore it.
