  Thu. 4/14/11 7:17pm Wikipedia:

Midnight Special 70s TV show:

"The theme song, a traditional folk song called "Midnight Special", was performed by Johnny Rivers."
  Thu. 4/14/11 7:17pm Betsy:

Whoa! That is a weird coincidence Corey. Buck Owens, Roy Clark...some real talent on there!
  Thu. 4/14/11 7:17pm Hugh:

BR-549
  Thu. 4/14/11 7:18pm Jim:

Creedence also covered Midnight Special.
  Thu. 4/14/11 7:19pm Betsy:

  Thu. 4/14/11 7:21pm Corey Ayers:

I interviewed Roy Clark last week. I also met Gunilla Hutton and the producer Sam Lovullo. Sadly I was not able to meet Barbi Benton.
Thu. 4/14/11 7:21pm Greg from Bloomfield:

  Thu. 4/14/11 7:29pm Jim:

Andy Griffith also covered Midnight Special with the Darling family on his show. He replaced the line "Or the sheriff'll grab you" with "Cause Deputy Fife will arrest you."
  Thu. 4/14/11 7:29pm Betsy:

Ha ha! Happy to oblige. :)
  Thu. 4/14/11 7:32pm Hegemony Jones:

There's a part of central Texas where everything is named after Lyndon or "lady bird". Never figured out if there was a connection with this song but in my loco mind they are joined...
  Thu. 4/14/11 7:32pm Betsy:

Wow, cool jim! Love that Darlins stuff. And I love Deputy Fife!
  Thu. 4/14/11 7:35pm Listener:

Lady Bird Johnson was the nickname of first lady of the US from 1963-69. The Sinatra/Hazelton song was put out during that time. It's up to your interpretation if there's a connection.
  Thu. 4/14/11 7:37pm Betsy:

Hey Listener, I assumed it was about her too, I guess! Who knows...
  Thu. 4/14/11 7:39pm Ike:

Hey folks! Bobby Bare Sr. is great.
  Thu. 4/14/11 7:39pm Listener:

At least Johnny Cash didn't put out a 45 called "A Boy Named Lyndon" :-)
  Thu. 4/14/11 7:41pm cheri:

  Thu. 4/14/11 7:44pm Corey:

  Thu. 4/14/11 7:45pm Betsy:

  Thu. 4/14/11 7:46pm Corey:

  Thu. 4/14/11 7:55pm Ike:

@BG: Irwin, is that you? In some "socialist" countries like the UK, they figure it out for you! Someone (probably a Brit) joked that it's weird to them that if Americans don't figure out a bunch of math problems once a year, they end up in jail. :) Not all "big gov" is alike and there are always improvements needed.... (Sorry for the tangent, Betsy. He baited me.)
  Thu. 4/14/11 7:56pm Big Gov:

Seriously, Ike, we LUVVV you! Back to work on those tax forms, now. Love hurts sometimes <3
