Listener comments!

  6:03am
Mariano:

Hey Marty! Good morning!
  6:07am
Marty:

Morning!
  6:16am
Mariano:

Beautiful noise!
  6:18am
pierre:

Bonjour Marty !

Hustling ? What does it mean ?
  6:19am
Azam:

@Pierre ... give me $30 and I'll tell you...
  6:21am
Mariano:

Wow, Pierre! It means so many things! The original meaning is to hurry, I think, but it can mean anything from prostitution to selling drugs to a disco dance, depending on the context!
  6:25am
Marty:

i like Azam's def the best
  6:28am
pierre:

@Azam : i only have euros !
@ Mariano : alright, thanks for the definition, i guess a drug dealer prostitute in a Abba gig is maybe to much.
  6:30am
Mariano:

Well, it has a good and bad sense: if you say that someone "has hustle," it means they work hard. If someone's a "hustler" as an occupation, it means they make their money illegally.
  6:36am
Marty:

but you can be on your hustle and thats more like you are doing what ever it takes to get the rent. . . . . inside or outside the law
  6:41am
Mariano:

Yeah, it's one of those tricky words. Also, if you're a hustler on the dance floor, it's a good thing. I give up! This friggin' language!
  6:42am
pierre:

that"s funny a traduction device gave me "pousser" in french > to push.
In french the expression : "il ne faut pas pousser" > sometimes pronounced "faut pas pousser" means "stop abusing from a situation" if someone would deceive to much.

I understand why, and i love languages and specially slang, the different significations it can covers. I love english/american slang.

Is there anyone in this comment board who's Hustling ? (Azam obviously)
  6:43am
Mariano:

Wow, Slug! Saw them in SF back in the 90s, opening for Cop Shoot Cop. They were LOUD!
  6:46am
Marty:

YEAH THEY WERE BEYOND EPIC!!! Damion Ramero from them now does solo noise stuff that is killer. at no fun fest a few years ago i saw him do this sound cancellation shit that made a kid faint so epic.
  6:49am
Mariano:

Now that I'd like to hear. And see! Oh, and @pierre: I'm hustling! Working an all-night graphic design job. Making that money!
  6:54am
pierre:

Man ! i'm a hustling graphic designer as well (no wonder why i'm always commenting > being on a computer all the time) and this Warren G feat Nate Dogg song is a good definition for hustling.

@ Marty : thanks for the Ex Models ! maybe we'll have a Wrangler Brutes song as well ? ; ")
  6:59am
pierre:

AND NOW ABNER JAY !

Monsieur Mc Sorley you are making my day

By the way for people in Paris : there will be the first ever Zs gig in France thanks to Heia Sun (new parisian label) > more infos here : http://collectif-tralala.com/blog/agenda/
  7:01am
Mariano:

This is more demented than Slug!
  7:07am
Marty:

thanks pierre
i do what i can

ill see if i can get to some brutes a lil later
  7:25am
Mariano:

You know, I spent 8 years of my childhood in Honduras, 71-79. Rodolfo and that sort of music were always playing. Moises Canela, Camilo Sesto, etc... memory lane. Thanks!
  7:43am
Mariano:

You'd have to give both of them to wail like that!
  8:09am
ausmanx:

hmm, Marty, I'm sure you've repeated your Russ Abbot crime this week to see if I'd be listening... I am spared, however. as I'm working on audio files tonight and am only watching the playlist... hah!
  8:11am
pierre:

i'm not bored, quite the contrary…
still enjoying the show.
  8:23am
Mariano:

Haha! Perfect!
  8:23am
Cheri Pi:

I work at a library!
  8:26am
Sam:

Is that boring?
  8:27am
Marty:

Cheri do you hustle??
  8:27am
pierre:

this Katt Williams fella, is making the word Hustlin very understandable to foreign people like myself.
  8:29am
Azam:

Classic hustling related movie:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0054997/
  8:31am
Cheri Pi:

yes-I'm hustlin' right now!
  8:32am
Sam:

When you play sports they always tell you to hustle, meaning to go fast and not be lazy, but also implying that you will be vicious and aggressive like a real hustler. Sports are a metaphor for war, crime and other aggression. Get it out on the playing field, to avoid doing it on the battlefield.
  8:33am
?:

Good movie - this one's better and features a different kind of hustling:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0064665/
  8:36am
Larry Flynt:

Join the club!
  8:48am
seang:

Hola! It's gonna be a good today!
  8:49am
seang:

I work in a library too--it can be boring if you don't have FMU blastin
  8:55am
Cheri Pi:

I'm too busy Hustling to be bored.
  8:57am
Parq:

I would be very happy to be doing research in a library with FMU blasting. Watching Cheri do the hustle would be a plus, too.
  8:58am
seang:

we library folk are primo hustlers
  8:58am
Larry Flynt:

Now that's what I'm mumbling about!
  9:05am
Marty:

im hustling down to the wfmu library to put away these records. see you all next week. peace
