Bonjour Marty ! Hustling ? What does it mean ?
|
Tue. 4/12/11 6:19am
Azam:
@Pierre ... give me $30 and I'll tell you...
|
Tue. 4/12/11 6:21am
Mariano:
Wow, Pierre! It means so many things! The original meaning is to hurry, I think, but it can mean anything from prostitution to selling drugs to a disco dance, depending on the context!
|

Mariano:
Well, it has a good and bad sense: if you say that someone "has hustle," it means they work hard. If someone's a "hustler" as an occupation, it means they make their money illegally.
|
Tue. 4/12/11 6:36am
Marty:
but you can be on your hustle and thats more like you are doing what ever it takes to get the rent. . . . . inside or outside the law
|
Tue. 4/12/11 6:41am
Mariano:
Yeah, it's one of those tricky words. Also, if you're a hustler on the dance floor, it's a good thing. I give up! This friggin' language!
|
Tue. 4/12/11 6:42am
pierre:
that"s funny a traduction device gave me "pousser" in french > to push. In french the expression : "il ne faut pas pousser" > sometimes pronounced "faut pas pousser" means "stop abusing from a situation" if someone would deceive to much. I understand why, and i love languages and specially slang, the different significations it can covers. I love english/american slang. Is there anyone in this comment board who's Hustling ? (Azam obviously)
|

Azam:

Sam:
When you play sports they always tell you to hustle, meaning to go fast and not be lazy, but also implying that you will be vicious and aggressive like a real hustler. Sports are a metaphor for war, crime and other aggression. Get it out on the playing field, to avoid doing it on the battlefield.
|

Good movie - this one's better and features a different kind of hustling: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0064665/
