  Wed. 4/6/11 3:23pm J J:

Please don't start talking about Google searches again. Talk about magic pocket lint instead.
  Wed. 4/6/11 3:24pm Hopey:

Hmmm, I kind of like Dan and Joel now...
  Wed. 4/6/11 3:25pm v k:

just searched my gMail - i have emails from Joel Clark from when i was buying life ins...ultimately went with another company - joel about volume, not service
Wed. 4/6/11 3:25pm On Behalf of Joel Clark:

OK, perhaps this is a multiweek experiment to determine whether I annoy my wife more in real life, or processed audio for me annoys Irwin's listeners more in FMU alternate-life.
Wed. 4/6/11 3:25pm Matt from Springfield:

@JJ: WFMU is still the 2nd result in Google's AutoComplete for "WFM*", but we need your help to get it to Numero Uno!!!!!
  Wed. 4/6/11 3:27pm G:

It's first fill-in result for "WFM" on Safari for me.
  Wed. 4/6/11 3:30pm Hopey:

After this I may also need anti-depressants.
Wed. 4/6/11 3:31pm Matt from Springfield:

Aren't we all just "Prisoner Number 6" when it comes to WFMU...or in my case Prisoner (ahem) Listener Number___
  Wed. 4/6/11 3:32pm Parq:

is this what it sounds like -- "Caravan" on electronically manipulated emergency airhorns?
Wed. 4/6/11 3:34pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

hella busy, just wanted to say HI to everybody!
  Wed. 4/6/11 3:35pm Hopey:

Why don't strippers dance to Caravan anymore?
  Wed. 4/6/11 3:35pm TMI:

In a previous life, Dan Tullis was Officer Dan on "Married With Children".

For those who couldn't sleep not knowing that.
  Wed. 4/6/11 3:35pm hamburger / london:

  Wed. 4/6/11 3:35pm don:

i'm in a wild mood tonight, baby
Wed. 4/6/11 3:35pm Matt from Springfield:

@DCE: Crazy busizy as well, but I'm here, and enjoying AMANDA!! That's right, let's party like it's 1987 in Athens Alabama!
  Wed. 4/6/11 3:36pm amaier:

man this is awesome, any chance of getting a copy of this somewhere online?
Wed. 4/6/11 3:39pm Matt from Springfield:

This IS such an awesome jam, people!!
  Wed. 4/6/11 3:39pm loomofafruittruck:

Amanda designed my seatbelts

Wed. 4/6/11 3:41pm Matt from Springfield:

Has anyone located Max Rubin? Was he from years ago, or is he contemporary? In either case he warrants either a retrospective or a premiere showcase of his music with WFMU interview.
  Wed. 4/6/11 3:43pm loomofafruittruck:

he owes me money---
I'm at Papa Johns in Frisco
Wed. 4/6/11 3:46pm Matt from Springfield:

@Irwin: Have you ever heard Sir Lancelot's "Atomic Energy" from 1947? I heard it on Surface Noise last weekend--it's awesome! Did you refer Joe to that one?
  Wed. 4/6/11 3:52pm The Nation's Meter Readers:

We're not impressed with you, either.
Wed. 4/6/11 3:52pm Matt from Springfield:

Nothing can be a disaster, since we averted a WFMU disaster last month! As long as WFMU is up, we needn't worry. Do y'all have a post-apocalyptic command center and shortwave freq. ready to go?
  Wed. 4/6/11 3:52pm Belgian:

Ehh, government is overrated.
Wed. 4/6/11 3:52pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

sometimes you make me sick
  Wed. 4/6/11 3:53pm Leeches:

Wherever shall I go? Whatever shall I do?
  Wed. 4/6/11 3:53pm nn:

and the budgie budget ?
  Wed. 4/6/11 3:53pm Ike:

I'm sure the campaign to get people to eat more sausage links is a lobbyist thing. And as for National Hobo Awareness Week, well, that actually sounds pretty awesome. I'll pay 1/4 cents in taxes a year for that.
  Wed. 4/6/11 3:53pm ginger tim:

What if? What if? What if my grandma had balls - then she'd be my grandpa!
  Wed. 4/6/11 3:53pm Sean Daily:

Hey, Irwin. When you decide to get off your soapbox and play some music, I'll be back.
  Wed. 4/6/11 3:54pm Laura L:

The government's on the internet now, it's not going to shut down, don't be a'scared.
  Wed. 4/6/11 3:54pm Lizardner Dave:

Well, if the government shuts down I guess you could toss this out the window. No big deal really http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5i5D1tkkcRa6BUNfqTOnq-V_oHQSw?docId=e46671876a0e436dbe9e55b11527f469
  Wed. 4/6/11 3:54pm schizflow:

channeling earl caldwell. right on
  Wed. 4/6/11 3:55pm Government:

Time to put Irwin on the list for rice-paddy re-education.
  Wed. 4/6/11 3:59pm Ike:

Rice paddies? Somebody's Commie jokes are a little geographically incorrect. We don't have that many rice paddies around here. Surely you can mock us dirty pinkos better than that. At least put a little effort in it, jeez.
  Wed. 4/6/11 4:01pm Government:

I know using metaphor is a stretch, sorry. Gotta work on that public education system more.
Wed. 4/6/11 4:03pm Unclear on the concept:

I'm sure that nice Mr. Irwin could do a fine job of re-eductating those misguided rice paddies.
  Wed. 4/6/11 4:04pm Ike:

At least go with wheat-field re-education, for Christ's sake. This is America. We don't eat that much rice. OK, admittedly, maybe I know my starches overly well. Is that a crime?

Oh and my greedy, evil, unionized high school teachers were better and more thoughtful than my expensive private college professors. Suck on THAT rice paddy.
Wed. 4/6/11 4:05pm The Left Chef:

Rice pâté?
  Wed. 4/6/11 4:08pm Impressionable:

Hey, I wanna be pro big government, too!!!! I can see just from the board how happy it makes people!!!!
  Wed. 4/6/11 4:08pm Carmichael:

And there I was just last night, talking about Stubby Kaye and his game show Shenanigans: "Well, the clock on the wall says it's time to go!"
  Wed. 4/6/11 4:15pm Parq:

Holy cow, Charm "Shenanigans"! I know so few people who remember the show that I sometimes think I dreamed the whole thing. Remember the sudden death thing where the kid had to choose between a box sitting on a table and one being held by a monster? The table one was always a booby prize. Not to make Iriwn's point for him, but if they tried that today, the Concerned Parents crowd would go berserk.
Wed. 4/6/11 4:20pm On Behalf of Joe Franklin:

My Access-a-Ride isn't available at that time. How would I get there from the nursing home?
  Wed. 4/6/11 4:22pm ginger tim:

Please tell me that's not really the name of that tune!!
Wed. 4/6/11 4:23pm On Behalf of Joe Franklin:

Would "Ginger Showers" be better?
Wed. 4/6/11 4:24pm Sr Hairy Hymen:

Golden Showers, Has any one tried it... Its very very Pissy
  Wed. 4/6/11 4:25pm Steve McGarrett:

It's pineapple juice, friend.
  Wed. 4/6/11 4:26pm Judge:

For sins against radio, I sentence Joel Clark and Dan Tullis to a term: LIFE.
  Wed. 4/6/11 4:27pm Harpy Listener:

There! I've wiped the coffee off my monitor. Thanks for the latest Dan & Joel manip, Irwin!
  Wed. 4/6/11 4:32pm Hopey:

I used to love Ellen Foley's Spirit of St Louis album so much
  Wed. 4/6/11 4:32pm steve:

More Dan and Joe please
  Wed. 4/6/11 4:33pm nestor:

  Wed. 4/6/11 4:40pm Happy Listener:

  Wed. 4/6/11 4:41pm Happy Listener:

How about DJ Shockwave?
  Wed. 4/6/11 4:42pm Herpy Listener:

I guess there's Grandmaster Flash...
Wed. 4/6/11 4:55pm Matt from Springfield:

Concrete poetry?

Check out bp nichol, his stuff is similar to "Cockroach".
  Wed. 4/6/11 4:55pm Robert:

Was that Lucky Duck talking just then?
  Wed. 4/6/11 4:56pm Happy Listener:

Sounds like Lucky pulled the trigger.
Wed. 4/6/11 4:56pm Matt from Springfield:

Oh! You should have mixed Revolution 9's "Number ni-ne, number nine..." into Dan & Joel #9!! That would be perfect!
  Wed. 4/6/11 4:58pm Happy Listener:

Ohh yeah! Cibo Matto!

*dances around apartment, knocking over furniture*
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:01pm bp nichol:

and im canadian to boot!
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:04pm Happy Listener:

...and you're from my hometown, at that!
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:04pm Happy Listener:

...and you're fucking dead!
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:08pm Happy Listener:

bpNichol and I went to the same university
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:09pm Mike East:

hey - I recognize the bed music from Joe Frank!
Wed. 4/6/11 5:09pm Matt from Springfield:

@HL: Really, the University of BC? Same time as bp?
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:10pm Happy Listener:

No, I'm not that old. Just UBC alum
Wed. 4/6/11 5:13pm Matt from Springfield:

I've been a bpN fan since I first found UbuWeb and regained my interest in Fraggle Rock:

Very different, very wide range of compositions! In fact they've uploaded more sounds on his page than when I last checked--I'll have to listen when I get home.
Wed. 4/6/11 5:15pm Listening Out There:

......The flip side is called "Air in the Hotport"......
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:16pm Droll:

I think the TSA has finally met it's match for airport horror: Y. Bhekhirst
I think Bhekhirst (tried to) lift a riff from You Lost That Lovin' Feelin'... Hard to tell, I'm getting a contact high from this song.
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:16pm bp nichol:

and the third side is "port in the hot air"
Wed. 4/6/11 5:18pm Matt from Springfield:

  Wed. 4/6/11 5:18pm steve:

whatever it is I don't want to hear it
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:18pm Molly moppet:

yes! go amanda go
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:18pm Sally Hemmings:

  Wed. 4/6/11 5:18pm MuttonChops:

Where do find this stuff?
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:19pm steve:

Great, more Amanda...
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:19pm Happy Listener:

Thanks for the link, Matt.
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:19pm Hopey:

Yes, where is this Amanda stuff from??
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:21pm Happy Listener:

Ahh, the soothing sounds of General MIDI a la Cure.
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:21pm steve:

I think it comes from Hell
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:21pm MuttonChops:

i love it
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:23pm Babyrotten:

Love is a strange thing indeed
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:23pm Parq:

Once again with feeling:

  Wed. 4/6/11 5:27pm Happy Listener:

"The Weeping Song" illustrates the best use of baritone male and contralto female vocals.
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:29pm Robert:

I didn't have the right spelling of Bhekhirst before. Either he wasn't in "Key of Z" or was spelled differently or I just forgot.
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:29pm Happy Listener:

Ooh, I love a Mellotron. Even my software synth version!
Wed. 4/6/11 5:30pm Matt from Springfield:

TWO mellotron tracks in fact! "Flute" bassline and "strings" chords! Love the mellotron myself!
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:32pm Happy Listener:

'tis true
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:32pm Hopey:

Thanks for the link, Parq! I'm listening on my phone and will have to listen to that archived show later at home.
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:33pm Babyrotten:

Does anyone know who made that instrument
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:33pm AnAnonymousParty:

The only problem with most mellotron players is that they treat it like an organ, typical chord voicings, rather than try to make it sound more like an orchestrated string or woodwind section. Or at least it always seemed to me.
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:35pm Happy Listener:

I hate to admit it, but I'm most mellotron players.
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:38pm john:

none. I can't take any of that.
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:39pm Babyrotten:

apparently Fripp drove himself to distraction keeping the thing in tune
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:39pm AnAnonymousParty:

Reminiscent of bullfrogs, that.
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:39pm Hopey:

Something inside my head is melting.
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:39pm Happy Listener:

This is sweet!
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:40pm BSI:

love this.
Wed. 4/6/11 5:40pm Matt from Springfield:

The piano beat is very complementary to this mix.
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:40pm Joel Sure:

Awaiting the Fripp re-mix of Tullis & Clark's "Northwest Passage"
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:41pm Babyrotten:

  Wed. 4/6/11 5:41pm Mike East:

ok, I think I'm done...
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:41pm schizflow:

it's not verbal anymore, just sound
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:41pm AnAnonymousParty:

Hey! It's a sprinkler!
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:41pm BSI:

I'm gonna name my first child something like this. What?
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:42pm Ike:

@AAP ha ha ha! You're right! It IS like bullfrogs.
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:42pm Joel Sure:

...or at least the Max Headroom cover of this.
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:42pm arrr.:

thank god thats over!!!
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:42pm G:

My GF is loving this... /sarcasm
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:43pm suzie:

At least it's not Amanda. Please don't think I'm trying to instigate anything.
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:43pm Happy Listener:

Shoot the piano player!
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:44pm Sir Elton J.:

@HL: NO! I'm only the piano player!
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:44pm Todd 76%:

Tullis & Clark's 'silent partner': Kenny G?
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:45pm Lizardner Dave:

This is Amanda Tullis and Jandek Clark.
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:45pm Happy Listener:

At least the bass solo delivers.
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:45pm Joel Sure:

Jethro Tullis and Roy Clark(e)
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:46pm marq:

I could listen to Dan and Joel for hours. Wonderful!!! Makes me happy and feel normal for some reason.
Wed. 4/6/11 5:47pm Matt from Springfield:

@Dave: OMFG yes! That's the next assignment for Irwin (or, another willing listener).
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:47pm Babyrotten:

  Wed. 4/6/11 5:48pm Happy Listener:

"SelectQuote my friend, don't you start away uneasy, you poor old sod, you see it's only Dan."
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:48pm Happy Listener:

"Cross-eyed Joel" by Jethro Tullis
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:50pm Happy Listener:

"Feeling like the Aflac duck,
spitting out pieces of his broken luck,
hey SelectQuote."
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:51pm schizflow:

  Wed. 4/6/11 5:53pm chris:

Code monkey or pwn monkey?
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:54pm Happy Listener:

Wed. 4/6/11 5:54pm Matt from Springfield:

Go Lane! In fact he's done other remixes that can make just about anything listenable.
Wed. 4/6/11 5:56pm On Behalf of Gilbert Gottfried:

Speaking of pieces of my broken luck, the Aflac duck is now doing ads in silent-movie format. Waaaahhhhh!!!!!
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:57pm Joel Sure:

Select Quote's site has an image of Suze Orman with her giant fake smile - I closed it immediately. Though maybe that's what Tullis & Clark look like with their skin pulled back?
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:57pm Happy Listener:

you're driving me mad, you're driving me mad, you're driving me mad
you're driving me mad, you're driving me mad, you're driving me mad
with all your Tullis, and all your Clark,
you are driving me mad!
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:58pm Happy Listener:

Good show, tho'!
  Wed. 4/6/11 5:59pm Happy Listener:

...just minutes from the worst show
Wed. 4/6/11 5:59pm Matt from Springfield:

Great show Irwin!
  Wed. 4/6/11 6:00pm Happy Listener:

Time for UCB theatre tech gaffes!
  Wed. 4/6/11 6:00pm Hopey:

Yes, awesome show!
