Already a pledge from Fort Lee, NJ in Saudi Arabia, and another from Highland Park NJ in South Africa! Must be because of all the world music! Have a look:

  6:21pm Your DJ:

All right Snortley, we're in business! And greetings Richard!
  6:31pm Richard from Venezuela:

Vampi soul is an awesome record label. Thanks for tony allen's song.
  6:31pm Some Dude:

Immediately when I heard this, I thought this has to be some Fela Kuti track I didn't know yet! Oh well, Tony Allen is pretty close...
  6:40pm Your DJ:

Yep, excellent guess!
  6:59pm Richard from Venezuela:

Glad to hear Los Amigos Invisibles.
Did you listen Los Crema Paraiso? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2ryJ1hwZfc
  7:14pm Ike:

Digging it!
  7:30pm Carmichael:

Hi Rob, hello everyone.
  7:35pm Ali:

Enjoying the music. I am a former KUSF DJ who lost his on-air program.
  7:39pm Your DJ:

Thanks Ike, Carmichael, Ali. Ali, sorry to hear about that. I actually sent a letter of objection to the FCC c/o the KUSF folks but I imagine the situation is pretty grim. A college / community radio broadcaster's worst nightmare. We're very fortunate here at FMU in that the station is fully independent and owns its own license and building. But I did college radio at WCBN in Ann Arbor and they're actually under some threat too although I think, hopefully, they're going to be okay.
  7:41pm Mitten John:

Had a look at the marathon map, Ohio kicking the Mitten Sate's butt--Sheesh!
  7:43pm Mitten John:

What's going with WCBN?
  7:43pm dirk zaffer:

Ben ook weer aanwezig Rob. Doe uw best !!!!
groeten aan Venezuela -Chevere !!!
  7:44pm dirk zaffer:

Los Amigos Invisibles zijn FANTASTISCH !!
  7:47pm Your DJ:

Thanks Dirk. Mitten John - actually sorry I made that sound too severe re: CBN. They are in a bit of a tussle with the university because it wants to basically remove them from their current budget line which I think is in housing or some odd dept. but CBN has nowhere else to go for the money - at least that's how I understand it - don't quote me. But their license isn't going anywhere. The stations that are really under threat are in cities where NPR affiliates want to add a frequency for music so their main frequency can go all news-public affairs. I don't think that scenario is much of a risk for CBN.
  7:49pm Your DJ:

PS @ Miitten John and other Michiganders - yes, how embarassing, but hopefully we'll start hearing from ya when the Marathon starts in earnest on Monday!
  8:10pm Mitten John:

Ah yes, the cash-strapped University of Michigan...
  8:35pm Richard from Venezuela:

La Barranca. terrific mexican group.
  8:36pm Carmichael:

What an excellent set. Loved that Bomba!
  8:48pm Your DJ:

Gee thanks Carmichael!
