  Tue. 2/22/11 7:12pm Davice:

I want to know who kicked off recently. I have no need for knots or oppression; or oppressive knots for that matter.

What about Elizibeth Cotton
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:13pm Paulbert:

  Tue. 2/22/11 7:13pm Davice:

Is anyone reading these comments? Or is everyone tied up in knots?
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:15pm Davice:

He could have concentrated on rats . . . just imagine.
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:15pm SPUD:

So the MEDIA enforces us to listen to black histery month. Bla bla bla. As a black rooted person, do you know the corollary month is in Afrika?

Factoid about Yi Son Shin: my bride is a DIRECT descendant of the architect who designed his ironclad warcraft.
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:24pm Listener Terry:

My point being that race is an entirely political construct.
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:25pm Davice:

Nothing is black and white is it.
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:25pm ?:

and welcome to the malcolm x apologist hour
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:25pm slazenger:

There was also a tenderness that Malcolm had when he spoke too.
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:25pm BSI:

I prefer self-flatulating, personally.
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:26pm Chris:

Architect is correct, not shipwright.
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:26pm slazenger:

What good is flatulance if you can't share.
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:26pm Timbley:

Evergreen published a couple of great books, "White Is," and, "Black Is"
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:27pm SPUD:

Tenderness... many humans engage in this emotion. David Duke, Typhoid Mary, MR Kangaroo, but using your noteriety to promote and propogate racism is EVIL. Regardless of how one spells it or what flavor of the month is.
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:27pm Davice:

Conficious say man who fart in church sit in own pew.
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:28pm Steve F.:

  Tue. 2/22/11 7:30pm Steve F.:

He started Milestone Comics and the Static Shock cartoon among many other good things.
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:31pm happy atheist:

Bronwyn: Islam doesn't prohibit women from visiting graves, who told you this?? There are many accounts of women visiting graves in the Quran (e.g. even the prophet's daughter Fatima visited his grave). It could be that your source is about 1500 years out of date?? Very early on (during the prophet's lifetime) there was a prohibition regarding women visiting graves too often, reportedly because of the cultural convention of wailing, mourning and praising the dead -- but again, this prohibition was lifted during his lifetime.
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:32pm Chris:

Collective bargaining is the tip of the iceberg.... his budget GAVE AWAY 440$M in tax breaks to the slobs who funded his campaign,AND part of the budget calls for the ability of his regime to SELL the state owned power authorities at NO BID.
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:33pm Danne D:

I flew that day. Fucking Reagan.
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:33pm E.T.Smith:

I wonder how many of the folks rabidly waving anti-communist slogans at the protest have even basic knowledge of what Communisim means.
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:34pm CBK:

Reagan Was a moronic fascist puppet....
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:35pm francine:

  Tue. 2/22/11 7:35pm Timbley:

and Reagan's father and grandfather survived thanks to the New Deal Program.
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:35pm Danne D:

Though at least we were stuck in Atlanta airport for the 9 hours or so, so it could've been worse. At least they had an arcade and a bitching internal subway system.
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:36pm Davice:

Where's Bonzo?
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:36pm tommy boy:

When is the entertainment going to kick in?
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:37pm Ralph:

When you leave the board, tommy boy.
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:37pm Davice:

you are right - things are terribly serious - LET'S TALK ABOUT PANTYHOSE!
Tue. 2/22/11 7:37pm Matt from Springfield:

PATCO (the Professional Air Traffic Controllers Organization) were government workers and had it in their contract not to strike. They endorsed Reagan in hopes of getting him to give them a raise; when he didn't they went on strike--and he fired them as the law required. Suppose fire fighters or others who can't go on strike walked off--even in the UK where fire brigades can strike, they only do it on certain days and arrange for the army to fill in on days they're on strike.
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:37pm hank:

two good men...
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:38pm Timbley:

Once again, tell us what you're playing in the background.
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:39pm Davice:

Justin Bieber 800 times slower - it is available as a download - google it
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:39pm caver_mike:

Dividing people into categories by race, culture, or any other factor IS the problem. As long as people think of themselves as "white" or "black" or "man" or "woman" or any other convenient categories, this perpetuates the problem. Each person is an individual and deserves respect as an individual. Skin color, height, gender, eye color, national or cultural origins are all characteristics of individuals. To treat someone differently because of these superficial differences is a bad idea. This applies equally to special "good" treatment or special "bad" treatment. The only real answer to "What race are you?" is "human"!
Tue. 2/22/11 7:40pm Matt from Springfield:

More important than honoring sometimes bloated unions on Labor Day, we should honor "labor", the people themselves--and remember that people DIED so you can have weekends, that all wealth originates with labor. Regardless of union organizations or not, people need to assert themselves and support each other against those who would stomp them down. That's what "Labor Day" should be about.
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:41pm Davice:

@ caver_mike: Amen
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:41pm slazenger:

What A VOICE!!!!
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:42pm Chris:

actually he gave away 440M... and he is demanding 144M per annum
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:43pm slazenger:

Let her UP
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:43pm Danne D:

@Timbley, I believe the track in the background is called "Thunk Tank Montage"
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:43pm bartelby:

the real point is that every time black folks rose up, reconstruction, sharecroppers in the '30s or the late 60s early 70s the establishment is shaken to it's core
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:45pm E.T.Smith:

MOVE: hell of a thing to see instead of morning cartoons as a kid, I tell you.
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:45pm Danne D:

G'night Thunkers!
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:46pm Davice:

How many is foreskins?
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:46pm SPUD:

caver_mike:
I COMPLETELY AGREE.

There are limited times when it is relevant to mention color or gender.

Due to all the abuse of polotically incorrect pandering poloticians, when I have to call the cops and tell them the color of the perpetrator or their apparent sex, I sometimes pause in reflection wondering if they believe me when I say some White Trash broke my windscreen to liberate w few Pound Notes left on the seat.
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:49pm Noel Heard:

Cleary Jay needs to find the foreskin and take it to
Mount Putin
Tue. 2/22/11 7:51pm Matt from Springfield:

@Noel: I think they're saying the foreskin is inside Mount Putin--in any case Jay needs to climb it, and have a golden "2001 A Space Odyssey" moment as the foreskin bestows its power...
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:51pm slazenger:

Hit the button by mistake.
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:54pm SPUD:

Aren't Mountains immobile? I recall reading part of Putins autobiagraphy where his had moved.

He mentioned the way his Mountain (4skin) once inserted into the receiver of Ms Putin moved her as well.
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:56pm Noel Heard:

I'm not sure they have it right. I don't think that the foreskin is currently at the mountain. in my opinion to fulfill the prophecy and grow the mountain jay needs to take the foreskin to the mountain,
Tue. 2/22/11 7:56pm Matt from Springfield:

Glenn Beck has got to jump the start soon--how long can you predict the imminent destruction of America every day, year after year, and still have any impact?
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:58pm hank:

;^)
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:58pm Robert:

What if you just don't want to carry out this order, but don't want to overthrow the whole damn thing?
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:58pm JCJ:

Really? You're criticizing these guys for not killing somebody, and risking their own lives, before they left?
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:58pm Tom:

can you say non-violence is the reason the jet pilots didn't bomb the palace? I think they were non-violent, but were in the military bc it's a job
  Tue. 2/22/11 7:59pm Robert:

I'm in the Bronx. Can I get some of that oil to sell?
Tue. 2/22/11 7:59pm Matt from Springfield:

I'm stewing! I feel polarized!
More Putin fan fiction next week!
F---in Reagan is fun!
  Tue. 2/22/11 8:00pm JCJ:

I think the anti-aircraft guns at the palace, combined with the fact that an attack by a couple of fighters would do nothing to destabilize the system, probably had something to do with it.
  Tue. 2/22/11 8:00pm francine:

now don't make us feel guilty for not commenting enough... this was a rather depressing, borderline hyper-academic rant!
  Tue. 2/22/11 8:01pm SPUD:

frangry that u ?
  Tue. 2/22/11 8:49pm KM:

Incase you check this later even though the show finished an hour ago.. Bronwyn did you ever know Dwayne McDuffie? if so, any kind stories of him to share?
  Tue. 3/1/11 10:59pm PMD:

Uh, missed the joke about the Bieb note. I feel so behind the times! Guess I have to listen every week or via podcast.
