Listener comments!

Sat. 1/29/11 3:10am Ike:

Ah, Rhys Chatham. Goodness.

Sat. 1/29/11 3:12am Larry:

Morning Bill. Always predictably unpredictable

Sat. 1/29/11 3:14am Bill Mac:

Morning Ike... yup, new one by Chatham, with the minimum amount of folks attending the proceedings.

Sat. 1/29/11 3:16am Bill Mac:

What's up Larry. Hows the snow situation over there? Seems like we're getting one moderate storm a week anymore. Pitchers and catchers in 15 days baby! Spring can't get here fast enough!

Sat. 1/29/11 3:22am Bill Mac:

So anyway, Charlie Callas was a comedian from the late 60s early 70s that may or may not have been discovered by Jerry Lewis. He was known for telling stories filled with people afflicted with all variety of nervous ticks. While his stories generally went nowhere, the characters he did were the joke. Check out the video, presumably on the Carson Show at the top of the web page...

Sat. 1/29/11 3:24am Larry:

We've had no snow since Xmas day. We don't do baseball here, nor Charlie Callas. RIP. We do have an idiotic government though. Now that's entertainment!

Sat. 1/29/11 3:26am Emile:

Morning Bill

Sat. 1/29/11 3:30am Bill Mac:

So long as our government supply us with enough sports and entertainment to keep us from going crazy like some of these other countries we're in adequate shape, I guess. It's frightening to see just how quickly something like that spirals out of control once it gets started.

Sat. 1/29/11 3:31am Bill Mac:

Morning Emile... welcome to the weekend...

Sat. 1/29/11 3:33am Larry:

We're bankrupt; economically, physically, morally and optimistically. Send us a few good men! And that baseball thing you talk so much about

Sat. 1/29/11 3:35am Emile:

Cheers. Will be spending much of it with Dan Okrent's book Last Call about Prohibition. highly recommended to all the readers out there.... bottoms up!

Sat. 1/29/11 3:56am Bill Mac:

The football thing (and not soccer) is bigger here... we got the Super Duper Bowl next week. Generally speaking though, if your team's not in it, the last 6 weeks of winter is a grind until you get to see grown men playing catch in warm weather... it's definitely the first sign of spring.

Sat. 1/29/11 3:56am Bill Mac:

....and why does that book title ring a bell?

Sat. 1/29/11 3:59am Emile:

Can't wait for opening day (baseball) myself even though we're here in Holland.... Trips planned to Chicago and Cincinnati, so plan to see Sox and Reds .... nice music!

Sat. 1/29/11 4:01am Emile:

Ken and Andy had Okrent on 7 sec delay...

Sat. 1/29/11 4:10am Bill Mac:

That's awesome.... my brother takes a yearly trek down to Clearwater, Florida to see the Phillies play some Spring Training games...

Sat. 1/29/11 5:00am Looms:

Hey Bill! Nice tunes to wake up as always.

Sat. 1/29/11 5:16am Bill Mac:

Hey Looms.... Happy Saturday!

Sat. 1/29/11 5:28am Looms:

Well, the slight hangover is going and the music is good so it's a very nice way to start the day.
By the way, i really liked the OTR track. You just proved me wrong about what i said last week.

Sat. 1/29/11 5:32am Looms:

No, i don't want to be dead :(

Sat. 1/29/11 5:47am John:

"Six Celan Songs" is correct

Sat. 1/29/11 5:55am Bill Mac:

Tanks John

Sat. 1/29/11 5:59am Looms:

Thanks for the tunes, Bill.

Sat. 1/29/11 6:00am Steve:

Thanks Bill!
