From Wikipedia - "With a sound that was thought by many to be highly derivative of Led Zeppelin's, there was a backlash from critics, with the band being dubbed "Kingdom Clone" Led Zeppelin's guitarist Jimmy Page commented ...
"Obviously it can get to the point where it gets past being a compliment, and it can be rather annoying, when you've got things like Kingdom Come, actually ripping riffs right off, that's a different thing altogether." All this being said, still kind of enjoyable.

That's it for The Greighteen. I hope you enjoyed them. These songs were all from records bought in the last week or two in antique stores, flea markets, junk shops, etc. Wherever old vinyl lurks. I'm not certain why I pick the records I do anymore. Not sure what my criteria is, but I know them when I see them. People often assume that I like every record that I play ... that they all reflect my personal taste in music. Not always true. It's interesting sometimes to see what happens to songs placed in the context of WFMU. There is a magic that can occur sometimes ... a new breath of life ... a reconsideration. It can be a lovely thing. An exciting thing. I have been loving Britny Fox all week. It must seem sometimes that I am playing tracks for their ironic value, and, to an extent, I can not completely deny that it might be true. But, I do respect every track, every artist. People are usually trying their hardest. I dig what people come up with, that's all. It interests me. OK, I'm rambling now. Response to The Greighteen has been pretty underwhelming so far. Might be a dud in the big scheme. Time will tell. I toiled to make and it and, per usual, it was rushed to completion at the end. I like music shows, though. I like music. I hope that comes through, my friends. You have a good one now. Email if you can. I'd love to hear from you. dusty@wfmu.org Always remember. Clay Pigeon
