ifny:

Reminds me of the wizened Gray's Anatomy that used to sit behind bars at the venerable King Edward Hotel, one of the best blues bars north of the 49th. The hotel clerk sconce is a barred, cluttered den of a reception -- bars small enough to admit nothing but currency, keys and lean fingers...you'd pass it on your way into the bar...i used to wonder about that textbook. How did it get there? Had it ever been used in reference during the day? The King Eddie by the way is picturesque all over -- big neon excalibur sword out front, terrycloth covered tables to sop the beer from $1.50 glasses of beer, great live acts and a crowd of blue collar/biker/student dancing the shit out of themselves. Strip club during the day. All in downtown Cowtown. If you're ever in Calgary Alberta....it's almost closed a dozen times but I believe it still exists.
