maestroso:

Copeland at noon! Nice.
  12:18pm
Wendy del Formaggio:

Hi Kurt!
  12:21pm
Robert:

Any of the rest of you hear that last passage as a quote of "3 Blind Mice"?
  12:22pm
DJ KG:

yes!
  1:00pm
Todd 76%:

Enjoying the show in a big way today, Kurt! You just indirectly turned me on to Gebhard Ullmann playing bass clarinet (a fave horn of mine) with Scott DuBois on that track. Is it just me or do several of these last few tracks have a feel similar to some of the Tim Berne groups?
  1:01pm
DJ KG:

hey 76 - you know, there is a berney feel going on. i'd thought all of these tracks had some kind of something in common, and yeah, that's a good way to put it.

and also yeah, ullman's great.
  1:27pm
Sweenso:

I just now deleted Motherless Children from a playlist because it's too dreary and then you play it! Argh!
  1:39pm
annie:

it's just cruel and ignorant to tell a child that a loved one has gone to sleep.. what fears those images can evoke... waking up in a box.... just tell the truth...
  1:42pm
annie:

...(speaking from personal experience..sorry ) hi kurt!
had to pipe in there..
  1:44pm
DJ KG:

well, it is an afterlife song. she's sleeping and waiting for jesus to come and take her. but yeah, i'm sure it'd confuse some kids.
  1:48pm
annie:

well, yeah, children don't have the ability to understand sophisticated abstract concepts like that.. they are existentialists. ... just sayin' don't mean to damper this.. i'm done being maudlin. pmp was right, i have to relax and take some cheeriness pill or some such thing.. :)
  1:55pm
Denise in DC:

I love Broadside ballads in general, but this one is particularly piquant these days.
  1:56pm
Looms:

Agreed Denise. Same feeling here in France :-(
  2:40pm
Mike East:

Awesome show today, DJ KG!
  2:43pm
gilli:
