Nice birdies, don't fly away.
  9:09am Ken:

  9:10am Steve L:

Hiding in the trees will not save you.
  9:12am Dan B From Upstate:

Guten Tag Ken et all.
  9:13am Cheri Pi:

I heard there was a party going on here?
  9:13am Cecile:

Mornin', Ken
  9:14am Smart aleck:

Okay, you're an ambulance.
  9:15am AnAnonymousParty:

Howdy y'all!
  9:15am Ken:

Yes, Cheri Pi, there is a party in my mouth, which is a really odd place for a party, but there y'go. Wish I had a better punchline.
  9:16am still b/p:

I remember this time of year when I was a kid, there was the smell of burning sneakers in the neighborhood.
  9:16am Looms:

RIP Rammellzee!
  9:17am postmanpaul:

I'm tardy again, boss.

I don't feel tardy.

  9:18am Vivian:

Go Thom, Go Thom!
  9:21am crowe:

hey blow leaves
  9:22am dj scott:

GO KEN!
  9:23am crowe:

the devil blows my leaves
  9:24am Dale from North Dakota:

The cartoon that goes along with this Mormon thing is hilarious. Good morning Ken!
  9:27am Dale from North Dakota:

Here's the cartoon: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jFZ1jVO3-OE It's not particularly accurate, but the biases and vocal tone that the narrator uses just cracks me up... the embodiment of belittlement.
  9:27am powiva:

why does it smell like burning sneakers?
  9:27am BSI:

but....... snacks?
  9:28am Dale from North Dakota:

No, Ken, not a Mormon preacher :-)
  9:30am OM:

How heavy is the chaise lounge?
  9:30am jaw:

A sears chase lounge?
  9:31am Aaron:

send the cia - this In Soviet Russia, kids walk across steel beams 900 feet above ground without safety equipment you. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=od1Ep47sSVk&feature=player_embedded
  9:31am Nina Hagen:

99 Luft Balloons.
  9:31am jaw:

the bb gun to control those things is going to add to it as well
  9:32am jeremy:

Are you handcuffed to the chaise lounge? because that would add extra weight...
  9:32am Robert:

With ordinary party balloons, it would take thousands.
  9:32am Ken:

Im not handcuffed the chaise lounge, let's figure ten oiunds for the chaise lounge.
  9:33am marq:

funny
  9:34am Ken:

OK Robert, how about larger balloons?
  9:34am jaw:

will you have a crowd to inflate your head too?
  9:34am Lewis Gilbert:

5 lbs for the chaise, 3 ft diameter balloons -> 200
1 ft balloons it is about 5800
  9:35am Neg-huh-tor:

Ken! Been gone cause company got a fire wall. I got an I-phone so I'm back. I've been listening these three weeks and enjoyed even my shellacking.
  9:36am Lewis Gilbert:

you could also do it with 3 12footers and a 6 footer for the chaise.
  9:38am Lewis Gilbert:

can we read your report? or is it classified?
  9:39am still b/p:

"Bathtime..." -- the track that led me by happenstance to FMU!
  9:40am Steve L:

If you haven't seen the vid for Bathtime in Clerkenwell...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0PGK7a2IFo
  9:41am Ken:

So Lewis, 200 3 foot balloons will do it?
  9:43am OM:

205 balloons if it's a 10lb lounge.
  9:43am Lewis Gilbert:

Yeah, you might add a couple for contingency. got the lift numbers here:
http://science.howstuffworks.com/helium2.htm

Agree with OM on a 10 lb chaise...
  9:44am Ken:

Thank you! Good to know.
  9:44am Laura L:

Would it take more if the balloons were twisted into weenie dog shapes?
  9:46am AnAnonymousParty:

Do remember not to overfill the balloons to allow for expansion, as atmospheric pressure drops with altitude.
  9:47am Ken:

Good point, Anonymous.
  9:48am Cecile:

YES!
  9:49am Looms:

If you're up for doing this balloons thing, I'm looking forward to reading the NASA report, Ken.
  9:49am Cecile:

Ah, every morning is good with Jemaine Clement's velvety voice.
  9:49am Cecile:

Jacques Cousteau!
  9:49am OM:

@Anon: Boyle's law strikes again! But then, as the temperature drops, so will the volume. Of course, you probably won't go high enough for that to matter...
  9:50am Nena:

Hey Nina, those are my balloons!
  9:50am Dan B From Upstate:

That iPad picture... is the radio behind it the same one on the wfmu front page today? That thing is made of sweetness.
  9:51am jaw:

Some people like it when other people record their demise, add that to the weight.
  9:52am AnAnonymousParty:

Better take a tank of O2 then, just in case you want to breathe and stuff..
  9:52am jan:

how come the playlist page is not updating without hitting the refresh button? By contrast, the comments is refreshing automatically.
  9:53am Neg-huh-tor:

Better take an extra flight suit.
  9:53am Chief Wild Eagle:

IT IS BALLOON!
  9:55am AnAnonymousParty:

If it were me, I'd take a parachute. But I'm kinda picky about controlled descent.
  9:57am Ugarte:

I can get you letters of vertical transit.
  10:01am Vivian:

Hey, what happened? I can't get WFMU via Itunes!
  10:01am BSI:

meetu. bad scene, man.
  10:02am BSI:

No WFMU, no life.
  10:02am popo:

mp3 stream down
  10:02am paul:

flash player still works
  10:02am Elizabeth:

aarrgghh
  10:03am crowe:

weretheheckawee
  10:03am Nate in Detroit:

Hmm...the ichiban, ubuweb and do or diy streams are still working, but the main stream is down :(
  10:03am BSI:

And so, Thee Flash Player shall be my methodone.
  10:04am popo:

flash player is a nice discovery, less apple in my life is welcome, wish I had a choice
  10:04am Lizardner Dave:

Windows media player loud and clear. Once again PC beats Apple.
  10:05am Swami:

Love the flash baby.
  10:06am BSI:

Flash is great. Keep the baby.
  10:06am OM:

I thought we were playing dead air chicken for a minute...
  10:06am Nate in Detroit:

32k mp3 stream still works too for anyone with no flash
  10:06am annie:

winamp lost the 128k... :(
  10:07am powiva:

always use the flash it rulz
  10:08am Liz B.:

We're working on getting the 128k MP3 stream up and running again.
  10:09am Laura L:

RealPlayer's working on my Mac.
  10:09am dc pat:

..unless you're at work and you want to keep a low bandwidth profile so the sys admins don't shut you down..
  10:10am Jon:

Just now learned of the Flash player. It sounds a LOT better than the iTunes.
  10:13am Lewis:

Does all this technical sfuff explain the Santana cut?
  10:13am annie:

thanks liz, i'll keep peeking here. have radio23 on for now
  10:14am JJZ:

The trouble with the 32k stream is that it isn't at a firewall-friendly port. Flash works though.
  10:14am popo:

how could he argue with bocce balls?
  10:15am dc pat:

JJZ: wow, I did not know that. Are you sure? Wonder how it's working at work?
  10:17am JJZ:

My work blocks a lot of ports. Including 8004 and 8010, the 32k ones. The 128k stream is at port 80, I believe.
  10:18am OM:

dc pat: it depends on your sysadmins. Sysadmin nazis often go port-blocking crazy. It sounds like you have a decent one.
  10:21am AnAnonymousParty:

42! 42!
  10:21am dc pat:

well that's what doesn't sound right because I work at a large org that gets attacked all the time so the sys admins are highly qualified and very meticulous. What port(s) are we talkin' 'bout?
  10:22am postmanpaul:

The Flash player is very flash, no doubt about that. I accasionally run Realpalyer alongside it out of sinc, particularly during your show, Ken. Realpalyer is rewindable, too.
  10:24am Ken:

Looks like the MP3 stream is back up now..
  10:24am JJZ:

Well, blocking the ports that connect out tend to be an easy way of saving on bandwidth costs.
  10:25am Arabs:

Oh fine, just go ahead and blame us for all things negative. Typial.
  10:25am dc pat:

JJZ: oops didn't see your post before my last one.. got it.
  10:25am MikeC:

Had to go into office, and can't listen, On your Helium levitation thing, you should give the total weight to be lifted and if you will be using pure helium or that crappy helium-air mix they use for balloons. Might I suggest Hydrogen instead. While it has some flamability issues, it has better lift than Helium, and you can make it at home with regular household chemicals.
  10:29am OM:

Numbers station?
  10:31am Liz B.:

128k MP3 stream is still acting a little funny on the back end, so it may be a little shaky for a bit longer. New IT-man Mike is on the scene.
  10:31am postmanpaul:

1 zeppelin should do it.
Not working today, am decorating with a 2007 Rioja near to hand.
  10:33am dc pat:

hey postman, what's the biggest football match going on today? Man U vs Man City? trying to figure out which one will be best to watch.
  10:34am marq:

working a little today, right now, then taking off early for my birthday. I have four pig heads waiting for me at the market. I'm excited about it. will listen to the rest of the show from archive because I can't listen right now.
  10:34am Liz B.:

Ok, 128k MP3 should be solid now! Dodge those firewalls, people!
  10:35am annie:

just clicked it on liz, i can hear it..
  10:36am OM:

working great, thanks Liz & IT-man Mike!
  10:36am postmanpaul:

Yeah dc, sparks will fly at the Manchester derby.
  10:37am BSI:

Great set. I'm picking up where I left off with Sesame Street back in the early '70s.
  10:38am Cecile:

Do you have Roosevelt Franklin doing his counting, Ken?
  10:39am postmanpaul:

Am really getting into the simultaneous Flash/Realpalyer mix.
  10:39am still b/p:

  10:58am jtm:

  10:59am Michelle in Green Bay:

  10:59am powiva:

  10:59am Cyrus:

  11:20am 95:

Mom, they liked me too!
  11:21am AnAnonymousParty:

Hey look, it's a crazy train!
  11:21am Denise in DC:

Loved the juxtaposition of Mrs. McWiggin with "98." It totally cracked me up.

Not that a description of the points at which I am laughing at the show will interest anyone . . .
  11:23am don:

it interests me that we were laughing at the same time, denise.
ken, you're supreme.
  11:23am still b/p:

Don Cornelius says that 's a Trolllllllll Train!
