  4:16am
doodly doodly-doo:

I picked up some odd numbers at the fair: pacific rim dulcimer, early shaker spirituals, & some lo-fi lookin vintage comedy album. the dulcimer album is lovely but have yet to listen to the other 2.
  4:21am
jj.:

whoa, dulcimer stuff sounds awesome!
  4:26am
shebaap shamaang:

yeah! it was about this group of like 100 folks who would roamingly gather along the pacific coast area & make music together.. there's a real pretty caribbean tune on the album, which i think is from '75..
  4:57am
dood-loo doody:

this track reminds me of something this crazy guy vehemently announced on the subway on route to the record fair: 'you may end up in outer space. you will not necessarily get lost, unless you lose your navigational system', etc etc basically foreshadowing the whole crowd scenario which would come soon..
  5:00am
jj.:

wowza. i had normal transportation to the fair this year, but definitely had a weirdo chase me down the block en route last year.
  5:01am
jj.:

also: what's the name of that dulcimer LP?
  5:05am
dedang demawp:

this city sure can be wacky! it was saturday & it was the 3rd crazy guy to come on my train. he actually had a somewhat titillating spiel, for a bit, which i have forgot'n. (i was dealing with a lot of overdubs by that point!)
  5:08am
dema-dewop doodley:

& i don't have the album on me but it actually must be the one from '77: Pacific Rim Dulcimer Project. It was a small group of folks coming out of what they called the Kindred Gathering.. And it's pricey in the internet! Hooray record fair!
  5:16am
– --- --:

my first pierre henry album (actually maybe only! ya!) had this great creaking door noise on it which was so much fun to listen to..
  5:18am
jj.:

weird, when you google the pacific rim dulcimer project, the 1st result is on the (fantastic) dead discography site. can't figure out what the connection is, though.
  5:19am
"whoomPAH, oh yeah!":

perhaps i should explain that the track was a door repeatedly creaking..
  5:21am
boo-boo be-choo:

now i'm losing my username rhythm.. (oh well). could the dead connex. just be the label?? i really wouldn't kno
  5:34am
day-oh:

my friend's band just covered this entire album, and it was great!
  5:39am
boo boo-be day:

i just listened to leon russell cover this song this eve. this version is kind of prettier.
  5:42am
listener caitlin:

what do you have to do to get someone to pick up the studio phone? you have something to play for people who should be sleeping?
  5:46am
jj.:

yipes, no phone ringing here! there'll be some aerobics coming up soon, though. for now, though, more lullabies.
  5:49am
listener caitlin:

ahhh. do you know that listeners have to do math to send a comment?
  5:51am
jj.:

indeed. DJs used to have to do math, too. just eliminated for us recently. i guess they assume we've passed all our boards.
  5:53am
listener caitlin:

good work here. goodnight.
  5:57am
doowop.:

goodnight you guys
