Hey Bill, singles...yes... hard work today. Cologne`s ready with coffee and sunshine listening to some classics, still educating the boy. Yestserday he went quickly outside about Black Flag... Shit happens !

Derek B:
Dig that hiss and crackle! Technology definitey cleans too much up - wax on!
Sat. 10/23/10 3:47am
Derek B:
Thanks for the great music Bill, no complaints here - don't do yourself an injury running around in there - feel the burn!!!
Sat. 10/23/10 3:50am
Bill Mac:
I think I lost 3 pounds already.... I'm diggin this though. Makes me want to start collecting 45s. How can you not like the artwork on the label stamps?
Sat. 10/23/10 3:54am
Derek B:
Agree, it's sad the way things are going for the visual component of the listening experience. I loved my parents cache of wax when I was a kid; Pye, Decca, Vertigo - those logos, man oh man!
Sat. 10/23/10 3:55am
Emile:
LOVING the show--awesome to wake up to here in Amsterdam!
Sat. 10/23/10 3:57am
Bill Mac:
I'm telling you, I grew up with the very tail end of a lot of this stuff... just very well made and cool... hey Emile!
Sat. 10/23/10 4:00am
Derek B:
Hi Emile, music is great agreed! Bill is making my over-caffeinated insomnia a lot easier to deal with!
Sat. 10/23/10 4:00am

Sat. 10/23/10 4:01am
Bill Mac:
It's the music guys....
Sat. 10/23/10 4:01am
Derek B:
Of course the gatefold sleeve had quite a few varied uses too, hey now!! :)
Sat. 10/23/10 4:04am
Derek B:
Hi Steve, the vibe tonight is perfect. I always have to turn down the volume when the FMU app is started up in case it's Sun Ra or something - not tonite!!
Sat. 10/23/10 4:12am
Derek B:
Wow that's pretty risque - what a lovah indeed!
Sat. 10/23/10 4:13am
Bill Mac:
I was hoping to find an old Neptunes single, it's got Sun Ra in it
Sat. 10/23/10 4:17am
Derek B:
Nice!! Check it, the current Gov of Ma his Da was a drummer with Sun Ra back in day, fun fact!
Sat. 10/23/10 4:18am
Emile:
I dug the version of Stardust...
Sat. 10/23/10 4:33am
Emile:
Did i mention the vodka orange juice in the morning perfection of this set on a fall day?
Sat. 10/23/10 4:47am
Bill Mac:
That will only enhance your perception of the set.... drink up!
Sat. 10/23/10 4:51am
M:

Sat. 10/23/10 4:52am
Bill Mac:
me too.... still standing too
Sat. 10/23/10 5:07am
steve:
I can recommend a DJ named Dewey Gill at WMSE in Milwaukee. He alternates the 6-9 pm (Central) slot on Fridays with Jerry Glocka. The 2nd Friday of the month he does a three hour show dedicated to the formative years of rock. The fourth Friday is 60's 70's rock so you probably would not learn much there. On Sundays 9-12 am (Central) am he takes it back a bit further into the Big Band / Swing era. On all fronts he is very knowledgeable; knows the labels, producers, chart positions, etc.
They archive a rolling two years worth of shows in 128 kbps
The Sunday Big Band archives are here:
http://snipurl.com/wmsesundays
The 2nd (50's 60's) and 4th (60's 70's) archives are here (but you need a calendar to know which dated URL will give you which show):

Sat. 10/23/10 5:09am
Bill Mac:
Wow.... I would say that's a good place to start... thanks Steve
Sat. 10/23/10 5:12am
steve:
The archives have a six or so minute padding in front so you need to skip past this bit of the prior show to get to Dewey.
Sat. 10/23/10 5:14am
Bill Mac:
That's nice, I'll be checking that out first chance I get.
Sat. 10/23/10 5:37am
Larry:
Hi Bill. It all sounds great this morning.
Sat. 10/23/10 5:39am
M:
I like sin ... the more the better
Sat. 10/23/10 5:41am
Bill Mac:
Thanks, Larry. I was kind of mad at myself last week. I totally froze on you last week... I could only think of 2 Cali bands when you challenged me... of course it became the recurring theme over the week... dead Kennedys, Black Flag, among others... that's life I guess...
Sat. 10/23/10 5:43am
Bill Mac:
Get ye saved.... tomorrow....
Sat. 10/23/10 5:44am
Larry:
No Problem Bill. I'll never understand the West Coast anyway. And yes, that is life! Great, isn't it?
Sat. 10/23/10 5:46am
Bill Mac:
I'll take it Larry! For every 100 things a week that get under my skin a week there's that one thing that makes me wanna forge ahead...
Thu. 11/4/10 4:24pm
oiskin:
Whoa - that "Goldfinger" single slays!
