  9:42pm
Charly in Brixton:

Alright Kurt, I'm gonna try to talk you down. But you will have to work with me.
  9:44pm
Noel in DC:

The mention of Halloween tunes, the "Singles Going Steady" week, and German make me think of a possible good tune to play: Die Kreuzen's cover of the Halloween movie theme, which was the b-side of one of their 7-inch rekkids. At least I think it was on one of their singles...could be wrong, though.
  9:45pm
dj kurt g:

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! not germans! i am _out_!
  9:46pm
Charly in Brixton:

Could you be more precise Noel?
  9:46pm
D. Blumin:

See ya, Kurt! See ya at the fair!
  9:48pm
Charly in Brixton:

Is the Fair tomorrow Daniel?
  9:49pm
Noel in DC:

Well, maybe Daniel could play Die Kreuzen's cover of Halloween off their single, whichever one is was, as part of the Singles Going Steady Week. Just an idea, a humble suggestion.
  9:49pm
D. Blumin:

Starts Friday, Charly n runs thru Sunday!
  9:51pm
Charly in Brixton:

I know it would be a lot to ask but, could you postpone it for a week until I am in town.
Thanks in advance XXX
  9:53pm
D. Blumin:

Thx, Noel... I'll take a looksee if we have it...
  9:54pm

  10:21pm
Charly in Brixton:

I guess now you have announced the fair on air , it's kinda fixed in the calendar huh?
Next time you have a fair, please consult me first as to my movements so I can partake in the fun. With just a little planning......
  10:24pm
muhrvis:

Daniel, do you do Facebook?
  10:32pm
D. Blumin:

Roger that, Charly... But, of course...
Muhrv, it's about time I established my internet identity - is that right?
I was sorta gonna get one after we are all updating each other directly via our craniums (crania?) - would be kinda old-school to get facebook then... Then again, I can say I got it cos of the movie... Finally heard about it!
To cut a long story short I do not at the moment... Are u on that there facebook?
  10:36pm
Noel in DC:

Every time I listen to your show--every time--I discover something I really like but have never heard before and then try to buy. Thanks!
And how do you find all these swellegant tunes?
  10:37pm
Charly in Brixton:

I gotta say, facebook creeps me out a little.
And if you leave and close your account, one false click puts you back on there again.
  10:39pm
cheri:

well daniel it's time for me to split,,,i'll catch you on the the flipside,,,,nite
  10:46pm
D. Blumin:

See ya, Cheri!
Noel, thx to you fer tuning in, Sir! Library stuff, personal stuff, and lotsa listening to loads of stuff I haven't heard before is the recipe!
  10:51pm
Noel in DC:

Well, I follow the same recipe, but you make far better vittles with it than I do. To your honor, I raise a glass vaguely in the direction of Jersey City.
  10:52pm
D. Blumin:

Ok, Charly - so that's one vote against the 'book...
  10:52pm
muhrvis:

Yeah, Daniel, I am out there on FB. Charly, I am probably one of the people that would creep you out if you joined. And it is true the folks that run it are dastardly.
  10:53pm
muhrvis:

SCG are awesome.
  10:54pm
Charly in Brixton:

I was thinking the same thing muhrvis.
Truly excellent.
  10:55pm
Charly in Brixton:

I meant about sun city girls not that you would creep me :-)
  10:56pm
D. Blumin:

Much appreciated, Noel! I'd raise a glass back, but I don't have nuthin here, dang it! Vittles and dastardly are key words, fellas! Thanks fer bring them into the conversation!
  11:02pm
muhrvis:

hahahaha Charly. I liked it before your clarification.
  11:03pm
Alex:

The only large theatrical venue in my town, Charlottetown, was renamed The Homburg Theater after some German real estate tycoon.
  11:09pm
Charly in Brixton:

Aussicht usualy means "View"
  11:12pm
muhrvis:

I guess she failed the anger management class...
  11:12pm
Charly in Brixton:

muhrvis, I am sure your prescence on my FB page would in fact be reassuring.
Hope that doesn't dissapoint you :-)
  11:16pm
D. Blumin:

Right now we have a tie b/w yes facebook and no facebook and I am not sure what to make of it...
Alex? Break the tie, will ya?
  11:19pm
D. Blumin:

Muhrv, I am thinking that she won't have to do the class again...
  11:21pm
Charly in Brixton:

There are 5.16 billion facebook accounts in the world.
That doesn't leave many of us that are not members.
  11:21pm
Noel in DC:

Re: Facebook, another vote against.
One of its main purposes is marketing, thus they want to get as much information about you as you'll willingly provide so that they and others can market stuff to you. Hence, why profiles are hard to delete and easy to reactivate.
  11:23pm
Charly in Brixton:

I made that up by the way :-)
  11:23pm
Charly in Brixton:

It's only 4.16 billion.
  11:24pm
Alex:

To be honest Daniel it seems like Facebook's dyin'. It's starting to show some of the signs of a decaying social network. Get a party line instead.
  11:24pm
D. Blumin:

So the key is providing only that info that you want out there - like the very important stuff - whether you are single and whether you are going to the FMU record fair, etc.
  11:25pm
D. Blumin:

A Party line? You want me to become a Communist? Isn't it a little too late for that?
  11:25pm
Mad Dog:

This is Mad Dog's bread and butter. We're eating this for dinner over here.
  11:26pm
Charly in Brixton:

Noel (and Daniel), FB keep sending me emails tempting me to click on links about interesting things. As soon as I click, it immedietly reactivates my account.
  11:26pm
Noel in DC:

Daniel, yes. 'Course, when you're no longer single, and your honey looks at your FB page and wonders why you claim to be single, you might have some 'splainin' to do.
  11:28pm
D. Blumin:

Mad Dog! Bon appetit! Should help digestion too!
What is on the menu?
  11:28pm
Charly in Brixton:

:-) keeling over here Noel.Lol.
  11:30pm
D. Blumin:

Sounds like this Fbook jammy might be a problem then, C & N.
  11:31pm
Noel in DC:

Charly, I've never had a FB account, and based on what I've read about it, I think I'll wait a while before I do. A friend who does marketing has pointed out quite a few ways in which FB gets people to provide info without realizing they're providing it for marketing purposes. For ex., FB will ask people about their favorite films, music, etc, so that people can share such info w/ their friends. 'Course, marketers also get that info. FB is "free," but there is a cost for using it.
  11:31pm
Charly in Brixton:

Unless you like being "poked" regularly.
  11:32pm
Alex:

No no Mr. Blumin, communism is in. Haven't you heard? Obama is a communist-socialist-nazi-fascist!
  11:34pm
Mad Dog:

Pesto, caramel, Dog Day Afternoon, and a nice chianti, thanks. You?
  11:35pm
otak:

phew music to annoy girls with. well I like it. btw faceblank is persona non grata round here ;)
  11:40pm
Charly in Brixton:

I see on the homepage that you can follow WFMU on FB (whatever that means?).
Are we not safe even here?
  11:41pm
D. Blumin:

MDog - will be eating layter - maybe some Siberian Pelmeni and some Kirin!
  11:42pm
D. Blumin:

You are not safe anywhere, Charly!

  11:44pm
