Listener comments!

  12:05pm
Dale from North Dakota:

Good day, Diane, a great start with the sludge/doom! Nice (figuratively, lol) stuff!
  12:09pm
Ian:

this zoroaster track is sick! i love the way more doom bands are incorporating trance-y Hawkwind stuff lately. It's rad.
  12:10pm
Cecile:

I love this album. Need to buy it.

Diane, my friend is raving about the new Grindhouse and Enslaved records. Do you have them with you?
  12:16pm
Dale from North Dakota:

Saw King's X open for Porcupine Tree in NYC last year. I thought they were okay, the guys I was with weren't very impressed. A little too much poser, they said.
  12:17pm
Cecile:

How'd you like the Tree, though? They're usually pretty great.
  12:19pm
Dale from North Dakota:

Absolutely awesome, they played "The Incident" straight through, then did some other stuff, though it was more heavily weighted to recent material -- I think "Russia on Ice" was the earliest track they played (one of my favourites, though!)
  12:22pm
eric:

Thanks for the DOA! Can't wait for the KWC/Batilus live sets. They both killed it at the Acheron last weekend!
  12:23pm
stefan:

ha ha ha, Jud Jud Gallop song totally awesome!
  12:23pm
Cecile:

They got nowhere near here. But I shouldn't complain. I got to see them twice in a nic e club - once with Opeth opening!
  12:26pm
Dale from North Dakota:

Well, they came no closer to North Dakota than Chicago, but I had a free plane ticket and I'd never seen them, so took the opportunity. I was actually intending to see the LA show (with a different opening band) but I misunderstood the date of a conflicting event, so opted for NYC.
  12:28pm
Cecile:

Very cool. Porcupine Tree fans are a really devoted bunch!
  12:31pm
Dale from North Dakota:

Yes indeed :-) I have friends in most of the markets that they played in, but wanted to make it a weekend show (and, when I booked it, they were saying that if the NYC show sold out in a hurry, they'd add a second show the next night with a different set, didn't happen though.)

Diane, this has whet my whistle for some PT... have "Radioactive Toy" by any chance?
  12:31pm
Ian:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FAST EDDIE!!!!
  12:32pm
Marco:

October 21st is my birthday
  12:32pm
Dale from North Dakota:

Brian Johnson is 63? Holy carp!
  12:33pm
Ian:

i think Diane misspoke -- Brian Johnson is 163
  12:33pm
Marco:

I'll be having a birthday on the 21st
  12:34pm
jb:

Isn't Bob Geldof's b-day today? Mary of the 4th Form.
  12:35pm
dc pat:

Wonder what that was like: watching the very first episode of Monty Python...
  12:35pm
Cecile:

I heard Jackson Browne's "The Load Out" this weekend, and realized how much I love and am grateful for Motorhead and "We Are The Road Crew." Because, uck.
  12:35pm
Paul:

Stoked to hear this Batillus/KWC set. Thanks for making it happen!
  12:36pm
Ian:

BATILLUSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
  12:37pm
Dillon:

Play the HAWK SONG!!!! yea Batillus
  12:37pm
blacktooth:

Both of these bands recently destroyed the cake shop. Only smoking rubble remained.
  12:41pm
SiHV:

Just tuned in. Happy I did. Doom.
  12:43pm
Marco:

Hello Diane:-) your not on Thursday the 21st so you can't give a shout out to me. I've been listening to you maybe 10+ years
  12:43pm
Ian:

Why does it say "Welcome to you are 'Doom!'"? What does that even mean, and why, for God's sakes, is "Doom!" in quotes?
  12:44pm
Cecile:

Invader Zim: DDDDDDDDDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12:46pm
Marco:

I'm glad you kept the afternoon spot instead of late nights at 11pm on Thursdays
  12:48pm
Marco:

Tuesdays 12-3 use to be Joe belocks spot I'm also glad to se him back:-)
  12:50pm
Ian:

goddamn Batillus are amazing.
  12:56pm
Eric:

I think my desk broke from all that heaviness. Can't wait for the KWC set.
  1:02pm
Karen:

Hey Diane! Listening from Boston!
  1:05pm
jeff:

Man...KWC kicks ass! They are the definitinon of sludge. Saw them in Brooklyn Saturday. Now lovin' hearing them from NJ.
  1:06pm
Ian:

  1:10pm
Ian:

i heart this Godflesh song.
  1:12pm
Kamikaze:

  1:17pm
ian:

  1:18pm

  1:43pm
Cheri Pi:

  1:51pm
Glenn L:

Firey Jack!! Yesssss!!!
  1:57pm
Dale from North Dakota:

A fine example of a band I don't like all that much, playing a song that I very much do!
  2:10pm
loft 73:

EMOK

Good stuff
  2:14pm
ian:

that was a supremely solid set. only thing i didn't love was the MM song. Seemed kinda lackluster to me. Maybe the "offensive" tracks are better?
  2:22pm
Cheri Pi:

I agree w/ Ian, let's hear some Baby Woodrose.
  2:35pm
blacktooth:

Tuesday afternoons should be "metal time." The fuggin' weeks just begun, and it's not even hump day yet. I need ENERGY!
