  7:28pm
Davice:

Hey Monica - lovely to hear you on this Sunday evening!
  7:33pm
Jeff M:

So, it's skants, not skorts? Or does the length matter when doing hybrid-garment taxonomy?
  7:41pm
sugarwolf:

Ok, I was wondering where I had heard this song before and surprise! It is on the monica.com premium!
  7:41pm
dave:

"life and death" makes for a compelling argument that INXS' entire career was a long, not-particularly-successful attempt at producing a great Chairmen of the Board cover song.
  7:42pm
dale:

this kind of stuff makes me miss danceteria. and being in my 20s. and not worrying about taxes and insurance. and....
  7:44pm
Don (trip dub):

Boss - the Max’s reunion at the Delancey last week was freaky. Joey Zero of MNN was hawking Bush Tetras tapes with a putter in hand. I asked, “you plan to go to Chelsea piers to hit a few, or is there someone you’re gonna use that on, or are you happy to see someone.” As he proceeded to walk away, he was using the Niblick as a fashion week statement walking cane. Von Elmo had it cranked up to 10+, the Planets did their best BTO meets Clapton guitaring, The Brats lead did his workout mic stand twirling and brought us back to My Father Place daze in LI.
  7:45pm
dale:

matias is borrowing heavily from giorgio moroder it seems
  7:51pm
cheri:

mo,, you can't help me out tonite??
  7:51pm
monica:

hi davice, happy to have you in the house....so sorry cheri, my copy is buried somewhere dunno where....jeff m, good god i forgot about the dreaded 'skorts', so unflattering...s'wolf, really? oy, the little grey cells aren't what they used to be....dave, i'll take your on that one, sir!...dale, LOVED dancehysteria back when too & just you wait, i heard that too....Don (Trip Dub), you can't throw a stick witghout hitting a Max's event these days!! Love the Bush Tetras though. Thanks for a thorough report a toujours!!
  7:54pm
Davice:

Hey, what's that I hear . . . .Herb Albert? WOW that takes me back a while.
  7:54pm
Jeff M:

Why do I love HA and the TJB so?
  7:56pm
Don (trip dub):

Everytime I hear A, I think of the Dating Game. He's getting a JLS (not Jusitce League but Jazz Leadership Society) award next month. She took the money and ran with the tailor.
  7:57pm
dale:

my friends dog was named zelda. past tense. so sad.
  7:58pm
sugarwolf:

allan sherman!!!!!
  7:58pm
Jeff M:

I played the hell our of my parents' copy of "My Son the Folk Singer" as a kid. Thought it was a scream. Even though at the time I got essentially none of the references.
  8:01pm
cheri:

monica---speaking of the cake,,i think that group is really better than the monkees do you agree mo??
  8:01pm
dale:

how's the driving going mo? stay away from upstate right now - all the stockbrokers bringing the kids up in the audi to pick apples and leaf peep.

jeff - i see 1 or 2 copies of that at every salvay i hot, so a new one is only 99 cents away.
  8:09pm
Jeff M:

Ohh, that's some Laurie Anderson from way back in the day! I know I've got it buried somewhere on vinyl...
  8:11pm
Davice:

Love Laurie Anderson!
  8:11pm
Parq:

40 year later, the Anderson piece still makes perfect sense. For years in the 80s, "Hi how's your work?" was my shorthand for "what a boring, cliche-ridden conversation this is". And belated thanks for running "My Zelda" - reminds me of when I found "My Son the Celebrity" in the Paramus library when I was a pre-teen.
  8:13pm
cb1:

Gee, I don't recall my folks having any Alan Sherman. They had a strange album called The Old Philosopher. Ever heard that?
  8:14pm
dale:

now i hear 'black water.' can;'t someone sample 'hello mother hello father?'
  8:15pm
Parq:

cb1 -- is that what's clogging your drainpipe, Bunky?
  8:15pm
cb1:

Parq - OMG - you'll never give up that ship!
  8:16pm
dale:

my folks had anne corrio's 'how to strip for your husband' - wish i had that today, strictly for historical reasons.
  8:18pm
Davice:

Whoa, what's going on there?
  8:19pm
Davice:

Ouch!!!!
  8:20pm
Davice:

Oh no. That hurts! Just thinking about it!
  8:20pm
Davice:

Brutal, I can't take it anymore!!!!!!
  8:20pm
Davice:

Whip me baby!
  8:20pm
monica:

hi there, parq. yes, was struck by that as well. that allan sherman dredges up early lp memories for many of us...davice, it's a great one...jeff m, WAYYY back - when soho was still a glimmer in a young real estate agent's eye....dale, very well and thanks for asking!!.
  8:21pm
Davice:

Oh, thank God it's over!
  8:21pm
Davice:

Monica, are you into S & M?
  8:23pm
Davice:

I cannot believe an angle as yourself is into that stuff!
  8:24pm
Parq:

By the way, I'm making my was thru Kliph's book-length post on the blog this AM about Laugh In - speaking of 60s humor. While intimidatingly long, it's packed with good things.
  8:25pm
Don (trip dub):

Thanks Mo for sharing Oblivian. Big ups to Terre T for having them on - Real good FMU garage engineering.
  8:28pm
Don (trip dub):

Who came first Soul Sweeper or Toots - or are they one in the same 'Superamambo'
  8:29pm
huh?:

S & M? as in the baked beans?
  8:29pm
Davice:

No, that's b & M.
  8:30pm
dale:

B & M - bondage and masochism beans.
  8:30pm
Davice:

80's Disco - I feel better . . . . I think.
  8:30pm
monica:

don (trip dub), yes and yes!...parq, need to check that out, thanks for the heads up...cb1, did you have a basement? if not, maybe that's why...s'wolf, yep!
  8:30pm
Don (trip dub):

Bush left office to get in the baked bean biz.
  8:31pm
Davice:

I'm sure he's full of GAS
  8:31pm
huh?:

I knew that. :-)
  8:32pm
Davice:

This music gives me GAS!
  8:35pm
Davice:

Oh thankyou, I hope the music gets better . . . S & M oh my that was brutal. Hurt me, hurt you, I'm sure, no way!
  8:36pm
Davice:

Count it baby!
  8:36pm
huh?:

Monica's music is always sweet. Where does S & M come in? I must be very innocent!
  8:36pm
Davice:

This is much more like it!
  8:37pm
Davice:

There was one track with whips and chains and screaming and yelling - it was evil.
  8:39pm
monica:

thank you, huh?... davice, perhaps a tums?
  8:39pm
Davice:

Oh man, does anyone realize that the internet feed is about 10 secs slower that the radio. It's freaky when yo listen at the same time.
  8:40pm
Davice:

Monica - I love what you play but there was something in that last set that finds me needing some TUMS - have any?
  8:40pm
Parq:

My daughter is sitting next to me reading Cracked.com aloud, making it impossible for me to read. The things we put up with for love ...
  8:40pm
dale:

EVERY version of this has the vocals sliding like that - was it written that way or did everyone just ape what worked best?
  8:41pm
Davice:

I love apes!
  8:41pm
dale:

i almost lost my mind, that is.
  8:42pm
Davice:

Sorry everyone, I'm loquacious tonight, Hey, thats a neat song.
  8:42pm
cb1:

Only you - They don't sing em like that any more!
  8:43pm
Davice:

Only Monica , , , ,
  8:44pm
Davice:

Wow, that's before my time!
  8:44pm
Don (trip dub):

@cb1 - Ringo does.(w/ Lennon's help)
  8:44pm
Davice:

I've got religion!
  8:45pm
Davice:

Amen.
  8:46pm
Davice:

I love the mix, noone play's it like you do Monica. Thanks
  8:48pm
Davice:

  8:49pm
Davice:

  8:51pm
Davice:

Good grief, i'm the only one speaking . . is ther something wrong? Maybe I'm mad, looney or worse like my parents!
  8:53pm
huh?:

  8:54pm
monica:
