emma b:

good show bill :) isn't Luaka Bop David Byrne's label. really liked that Dara Puspita cut, is that the tune of hanky panky?
  4:10am
Bill Mac:

Thanks Emma,
Why didn't I catch that hanky panky reference?! I'll have to relisten to that. I think Luaka Bop IS David Byrnes label.
  4:21am
emma b:

heh, maybe that was just me? tune seemed to be pretty close to that hankyness. still needing to read the tommy james autobiography, sounds pretty awesome... lots of mob scaryness!
  4:26am
Bill Mac:

Hey it inspired me to play an oft-overlooked Shondells tune. Need to check out the book myself
  4:29am
emma b:

there's an interview with tommy james that (i think it was ) dave the spazz did a little while back, blows my mind that those really great 60s pop sounds on roulette had these really scary circumstances. anyway, i should get back to work :)
  4:30am
Steve:

Caught you at half time; hey Bill, and other distinguished guests.
  4:41am
michael:

Hey Bill,
just a short message from Birgit and Michael in Cologne. We`l be tuning in the next shows. Too much work today.Good to know you`re a bit back on WFMU.
  4:42am
Steve:

Living in California I know all about the freeway commute. Hope this job is yours, and yet you do all these 3 am-ers for FMU.
  4:43am
Bill Mac:

Hi Michael, good to know that you're still out there listening!
  4:46am
Bill Mac:

Hey Steve, yeah, I'm not sure how that's gonna work out long term. I'm sure you've heard my story. I'm 80 miles from here and work, so it's convenient for me to do this now. Once the job comes through I'll be 7 miles from work. Coming up here will be a special trip at that point. I'll make sure it works out somehow
  4:50am
emma b:

shorter commute is usually always a win. Mine went down from 2.5 hours to ~20 minutes with my getting an auto. good luck!
  4:53am
Bill Mac:

thanks, mine would go from 1.5 hours on a good day to about 15 minutes.
  5:01am
emma b:

here's the link to that dave the spazz show with the tommy james interview: http://www.wfmu.org/playlists/shows/35431 From april 15, 2010
  5:05am
Bill Mac:

Thanks Emma, I'll definitely check that out.
  5:47am
Steve:

I drive by Laurel Canyon every now and then and think of the magic mix that came out of there when everyone from Zappa to Stills were hanging out there.
  5:49am
Bill Mac:

It cerainnly was a special time...
