Sun. 6/27/10 9:09pm texas scott:

evenin',dave.

Sun. 6/27/10 9:10pm Anonymous in Essex Co.:

Hi Dave! First bit of that Necks made me think of Airborne Event w/Dan B., and that Sunday morning FMU headspace, since that's his talkover. Nice to hear a whole other segment of that piece.

Sun. 6/27/10 9:12pm Steve:

Ahh, Zappa .. thx Dave

Sun. 6/27/10 9:12pm Dave M:

Thanks, Scott. All my knowledge comes from Wikipedia :-)

Sun. 6/27/10 9:15pm Bruce:

Wow, dave, thanks for pulling this out of the memory hole!
Makes me wonder how much good weird music I've actually forgotten - prolly way more than I remember!

Sun. 6/27/10 9:23pm A. in Essex Co.:

Heh... I *know* you lie about Wikipedia b/c I remember listening to yr amazing shows in the 90s before Wiki existed! Ha ha! 8^P

Sun. 6/27/10 9:27pm cheri:

dave,,are you having a great summer so far?? play more zappa!!!

Sun. 6/27/10 9:29pm Steve:

After Václav Havel was elected president of Czechoslovakia in 1989, he asked Frank to take a position in the ministry of culture.

Sun. 6/27/10 9:29pm Bruce:

I saw them at the Kitchen - they couldn't do the cactus piece, someone forgot to water it and it died, so they inserted some sort of plastic cockail forks into what I believe was a spaghetti squash and played *that* instead!

Sun. 6/27/10 9:31pm Dave M:

Ha! Probably sounded just as good, though.

Sun. 6/27/10 9:34pm Dave M:

Yeah, Havel is the most famous Zappa fan there, but I think he was hugely popular in general.

Sun. 6/27/10 9:34pm Bruce:

They started off real slow, putting the forks in different places and at different depths to get different tones, testing the play of each, slowly incorporating each newly discovered sound into their rhythmic improvisation.

Sun. 6/27/10 9:34pm Dave M:

Cheri: Good, thanks, but a few degrees cooler would be nice.

Sun. 6/27/10 9:58pm listener gary:

It is so WONDERFUL to have you on the air again ...LIVE! Earlier I remembered the night you were talking about the Vegetable Band and cracked up and had to go ..."to the music"!

Sun. 6/27/10 10:01pm Dave M:

Thanks, Gary. It's good to be back in a regular slot. Yeah, I can't control my laughing sometimes. It used to get me sent to the principal's office a lot.

Sun. 6/27/10 10:05pm Holly:

Damn! Missed the first hour. Love that Momus song. So glad you have a regular slot again. :)))

Sun. 6/27/10 10:12pm Dave M:

This beats the Jose Feliciano version hands down

Sun. 6/27/10 11:15pm Dave M:

I do like the Baroque organ riff in the original Doors version, though.
