POWER CHILD!
I know what the Amanda "samples" from the Beatles' White Album are, but does anyone know what songs are in the background of her other tracks, like "Me At Friday's" and "Lightning Set My Butt On Fire"?

7SD Listener:

How can you tell a live 7SD from a dead one? Matter of fact, they're all dead.
  3:43pm
Matt from Springfield:

@Kevin in BK: You're right! I found a sample of "Flesh For Fantasy" and it's the exact music from "Me At Friday's".
  3:44pm
jan:

I am not sure if I should mention this, but the idea of more Amanda tracks being fedexed to Irwin for airing on this program does not excite me. Like many I was initially thrilled to hear Amanda, but the excitement has transformed into irritation. I know that the supporters of Amanda are very vocal, but does anyone feel as I do?
  3:45pm
?:

meow.
  3:48pm
Matt from Springfield:

Incidentally...
MORE AMANDA! We're waiting on Box Sets and Anthologies now! I wanna hear "Insane Girl" and "Profane Thoughts On A Car Trip".
@jan: I'm a steady fan, but hey, diff strokes for diff folks.
  3:48pm
Denise in Washington, DC:

jan, please note that in my earlier comment about Amanda, I did not say I stop to listen to her out of pleasure.
  3:49pm
Mr de Sade:

Amanda is not about pleasure.
  3:49pm
Denise in Washington, DC:

And this past pledge drive was the first one in years during which I did not request Irwin's premium.
  3:50pm
Jim Duffy:

Ah, I could tell this was Mose, even without hearing any singing. Cool stuff!
  3:51pm
not jan:

amanda is necessity
  3:52pm
Paging Dr.Bowie:

are you still afraid of americans?
  3:52pm
Bowie:

Young Americans.
  3:54pm
jan:

that reminds me- I have the Amanda CD due to my long standing support of Irwin's programming and other DJs. In this case, the premium felt more like a penalty.
  3:54pm
Speculation:

Nest year's premium: the Amanda tribute album, with covers by everyone from Miley C. to Keili
  3:54pm
Denise in Washington, DC:

Damn, this mashup is genius.
  3:55pm
Kevin in BayRidge:

Amanda is but a part of the great tapestry ( forgive me for the Don & Carole allusions!) that is Irwin's show. That being said, the rug has some real frayed edges.
  3:56pm
nestor:

them hills :)
  3:56pm
RICCARDO:

TEMPTATIONS VS POLICE VERY GOOD
  3:57pm
Matt from Springfield:

Amanda mentioned last summer in The Amanda Chronicles interview that one of her first recordings was Sade's "Smooth Operator", which she loved at the time. Did Joseph say if he found that one?
  3:59pm
nestor:

oh, sweet. yay.
  3:59pm
Denise in Washington, DC:

Hey, this Children's Chorus version is fun.
  4:00pm
Matt from Springfield:

I second (or third or fourth) approval of GHP -- every mashup is excellent.

In response to this I would have to recommend Team9's "Confused Imagination" -- Temptations' "Ball Of Confusion" vs. John Lennon's "Imagine" -- better than the orig Ball of Confusion.
  4:00pm
Spankyflop:

I used to find Amanda irritating, but much the way a grain of sand starts as an irritation to an oyster, I Amanda has become a pearl to me.
  4:01pm
Kevin in BK:

actually, jan. i think that's called indigestion.
  4:01pm
Lizardner Dave:

I could listen to 3 hours of nothing but Amanda. Then again, I've been listening to Kenny G's archives while he's off the air.
  4:03pm
Battle of the Sexes:

Why are the Amanda-lovers mainly male, and the Amanda-haters mainly female? Sup widdat?
  4:04pm
Kevin in BK:

i always love it when someone drifts into this program having never heard amanda. i think we take her for granted.
  4:12pm
jan:

to clear up any ambiguity- this jan is all male.
  4:12pm
Paging Dr. Bowie:

uh doc.. see i have this friend.. and well.. is that normal ?
  4:15pm
Dr. Bowie:

Well, boys DO keep swinging. Take some Ashes and call me in a decade.
  4:16pm
nestor:

super happy :)
  4:16pm
Troublemaker:

Where do metrosexuals fall on the male-female contiuum?
  4:18pm
Denise in Washington, DC:

I had just hit the "stop" button on the stream to listen to something for work when the first three notes of the Suddenly, Tammy! song came out of the speaker. I had no idea who it was, but I had to turn the stream back on to hear the song.
  4:21pm
Denise in Washington, DC:

iow, they're great.
  4:22pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

Jan, they're always thinking you're a "she", but you're what, like Dutch or something?
  4:23pm
jan:

Twelve-Year Old Scotch- now that is an arresting sound. Very nice, Irwin.
  4:25pm
Paging Dr. Bowie:

ok Doc.. i hope it doesnt put me where things are hollow..
by then i will be in my golden years.. oh man!
by the way.. what is it that you like in the limo?
  4:25pm
jan:

born on Long Island, live in NYC and spend a lot of time in NJ.
  4:28pm
BSI:

wheeee! hour of pain!
  4:28pm
Kenny G Amanda mashup:

now *that* would be an hour of pain...
  4:32pm
jan:

That second cut- Everybody Says I'm Beautiful - I either need some scotch or he needs more scotch. That was pure treacle.
  4:37pm
jan:

but wow- ultimate spinach- never got to that cut on the record- took it off the turntable after hearing a few bars of 'funny freak parade' back when it was a new album. that wasn't bad. And it's always great to hear Jessica Kane.
  4:38pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

so you gave Ultimate Spinach one chance, and they failed you? well, at least 40 years later they get another chance!
  4:41pm
KC in MKE:

Can't believe I missed Amanda and Ultimate Spinach, archives again for me. Not so sure about Jessica Kane, I feel I'm cheating on Amanda.
  4:42pm
Taking Bets:

Anyone think Jessica Kane would appreciate Amanda?
  4:43pm
David Antin:

I'd bet should wouldn't.
  4:44pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

but I'd bet she would! She seems like a weirdo

Bangles:

Walk like an Amandan.
  5:21pm
KC in MKE:

Irwin - Any chance Amanda will be visiting from Alabama again? (hint hint)
  5:26pm
Irwin:

@KC: Don't know. She has a f/t job and she's 1,000 miles away. Hope she returns. Maybe when the newly discovered material is showcased.
  5:33pm
Fodder:

Music to work by. My productivity has increased two fold and the girls look at me when I pass them by. Must be something in the programing. I do not know. Thank you Chusid Industries, thank you.
  5:34pm
Irwin:

I am your humble manservant, o GodFodder.
  5:34pm
Genre Surfing Chicks:

That Fodder's kinda cute, ya think?
  5:38pm
Denise in Washington, DC:

WHAT? Amanda's old enough to have a JOB?
  5:42pm
Fodder:

Now the romantic piano stylings of Lennie set the mood as we are all transported from our mundane jobs to a sidewalk cafe at dusk with 23 bottles of aged red. BAM! What's that? Damn, a deadline, okay back to work...
  5:43pm
Fodder:

Okay, one more interjection before I get back to "IT".... this Broadcast album with Focus Group is highly recommended. Been a favorite for months now. Good good stuff!
  5:44pm
The IT Girls:

Back to us, huh?
  5:45pm
Fodder:

I'll be right there! Hold yer horses, didn't I give you back issues of LCD to read with a bottle of red wine? On my way, I have 15 minutes to study and review more of the Chusid Industries Program.
