Yes, you may come. Just do it under the blanker.
|
Fri. 5/14/10 9:22am
Robert:
No, I meant "4 weeks" as a translation of "Forse Mai". "Blanket", I meant blanket!

Drummer Some:
AND, dear listeners, all of my shows on this new stream will be archived and available exactly like the current show!
|
Fri. 5/14/10 10:02am
Robert:
I'm sorry, "Rhythm" doesn't have enough vowels in it, and "Futuristic" has too many. You just made that language up, didn't you?
|
Fri. 5/14/10 10:05am
Hugo:
I agree. Should be riddim. Seen I?
|
Fri. 5/14/10 10:11am
Robert:
Now we know you're making this up. There couldn't possibly be 2 words in the same language starting with "og". Good thing you don't have to prove it by actually playing these supposed records, like on a broadcast or a stream or something. Nobody could possibly keep up that way with this list of supposed titles being posted in supposed real time. You would wear out your hands, or the needle, or something. So yeah, we know you're making them up.
|
Fri. 5/14/10 10:13am
Drummer Some:
Robert, would you pipe down. I'm trying to nap.
|
Fri. 5/14/10 10:16am
Robert:
Now you made me laugh, so we know you couldn't possibly concentrate on playing records while you make up their supposed titles in various supposed languages. Thanks and best wishes again for the move.
|
Fri. 5/14/10 10:27am
ken:
hey doug, before you split -- what are your top five venues in the nyc area? or events? and then, when you are in pitt, let us know what's hapn' there.
|
Fri. 5/14/10 10:27am
Cecile:
Oram's Donuts. You must make a pilgrimage to the bombed-out town of Beaver Falls. PA to eat those miraculous confections.
|
Fri. 5/14/10 10:30am
Drummer Some:
The thing that makes me happiest is that I'll be living one single solitary block away from Jerry's Records. I haven't walked into a brick-and-mortar record store in over a year (or two, or three?) Everything is like $3 or $4. Ridiculous. Who knows, maybe I will broadcast live from Jerry's. He can just frisbee vinyl over to me and I'll slap it down on the TT. Ah, good times.
|
Fri. 5/14/10 10:35am
Hugo:
For a jazz buff like me, no visit to nyc would be complete without a pilgrimage to the Village Vanguard. Saw Marilyn Crispell with Mark Helias and Paul Motian. This is a roundabout way of requesting JC at the VV. Just saying ...

|
Fri. 5/14/10 10:56am
annie:
....so i call the landlord to tell him i'll be up in about an hour or so ... he proceeds to tell me he has been rethinking the situation due to the fact that the woman who decided to stay was concerned about the dog and her fleas, which she does not have and maybe might have in the near future, maybe...so he in essence told me it wouldn't work out..
|
Fri. 5/14/10 10:57am
Lucas:
Hi Mr Drummer Some. I would like to have your e-mail news. Thanks!
|
Fri. 5/14/10 11:01am
annie:
in the meantime i had secured a pretty sweet painting job at a B&B that week and i was traveling down there to work, using jay's car...

Drummer Some:

hamburger:
Gissuppe Logan next week huh?
|
Fri. 5/14/10 11:04am
annie:
so, jay calls me and says... what up? how did it go? so i inform him of the changes in plans... he and the landlord had exchanged epithets towards each other through me expressing annoyance at the inconsiderte behaior of the other..all i could do was shake my head at the lack of ability to adapt...
|
Fri. 5/14/10 11:06am
Drummer Some:
Hamburger, Thanks for reminding me!
|
Fri. 5/14/10 11:07am
hamburger:

|
Fri. 5/14/10 11:07am
annie:

|
Fri. 5/14/10 11:19am
LizGig:
Go for gobs of fun, Doug. The world needs more gobs of fun. I have never met Jerry and know nothing about the man, but I'm sure he'd be on for it!
|

LizGig:
Since dogs are threaded through today's discussion, can anyone recommend a good dog training book for children?
|
Fri. 5/14/10 11:22am
Robert:
I didn't notice any glitch. Your remark reminds me of how Rich Conaty's always catching and criticizing himself on air for a slip of the tongue that it sounded like didn't even get out of his mouth yet like he was just THINKING about saying a wrong syllable. Maybe he's using delay and editing them out but commenting on them anyway.
|
Fri. 5/14/10 11:23am
annie:
cecile, it all fell together... now to get my money back and my stuff... not to mention what i have at jay's house.....only a small load, but wow. ... no car, no easy way..
