Okay, board. Let's talk Oscars.
  Mon. 3/8/10 10:17am ?:

regular commenters in hiding during pledge drive?
  Mon. 3/8/10 10:18am Cecile:

I mean. What's up?

Either that, or sleeping off the wild Oscar parties they had in their living rooms.
  Mon. 3/8/10 10:18am dc pat:

guh. so, my son has croup, my daughter has strep throat, and now a nasty stomach virus too. No sleep last night BUT I'm here to pledge....
  Mon. 3/8/10 10:20am Cecile:

dc pat, start pounding down ginger tea now!
  Mon. 3/8/10 10:21am BSI:

Still sleeping off late DJ night friday. Oscars? What? Didn't they do that last year?
  Mon. 3/8/10 10:22am Cecile:

Yeah. This one was good. I think they might do it again next year.
  Mon. 3/8/10 10:24am dc pat:

eew. Can I just pound beer instead?
  Mon. 3/8/10 10:27am Cecile:

you use good honey and grate some fresh ginger, it's good.
  Mon. 3/8/10 10:31am dc pat:

k. I try.
  Mon. 3/8/10 10:32am Cecile:

Some people like it better cold, too.
You could put some sparkling water in it and make ginger beer.
  Mon. 3/8/10 10:34am dc pat:

ah, 'beer' that's what I was looking for. Cecile just told me to drink beer to ward off disease. Thanks, later.
  Mon. 3/8/10 10:34am lewis:

satellite radio is boring! The only similarity is the lack of commercials, but that is hardly a comparison.
  Mon. 3/8/10 10:37am Cecile:

I miss my XM classical station now that DirectTv has changed musical providers. They had great classical announcers. And it's a genre, I have to say isn't covered in depth by 'FMU.
  Mon. 3/8/10 10:38am Cecile:

We.., yeah, dcp, if you're trying to avoid dysentery from the local water...
  Mon. 3/8/10 10:39am Joe B:

and satellite DOES have commercials on some channels!
  Mon. 3/8/10 10:41am Cecile:

that is very true.
And underwriters.
Still, I want my early music back with the nerd announcers who explain all the dirty 15th century puns.
  Mon. 3/8/10 10:49am Cecile:

DUDE, I will! Thanks for the nice words.
  Mon. 3/8/10 10:49am dc pat:

right on, DJ Cecile, do a remote show.
  Mon. 3/8/10 10:52am Cecile:

I WONNED!
  Mon. 3/8/10 10:53am Joe Steele:

I commercial by any other name, is still corporate America hassling us.
  Mon. 3/8/10 11:11am CheriPi:

Congrats Cecile-Everybody should Pledge! Can you really imagine getting through the day without our 'FMU community?
I don't even have a TV-WFMU is my inspiration station.
  Mon. 3/8/10 11:12am Maya:

There are currently two types of "America",
corporate America and FREE FORM america!!!

  Mon. 3/8/10 11:27am MONTREAL:

  Mon. 3/8/10 11:59am maya:

I don't know if you have heard of a UK based radio station called BBC 6 Music? As far as I am aware, it is the only station in the UK that is continually and consistently host to alternative music ie indie/psychedelic/punk/funk and many more genres that would never be heard or aired on any other station. Good stuff yes? ..Well no! In their infinite wisdom, the BBC's "comittment to quality" their words, they have decided to cut funding to this station as of May 2010 resulting in the untimely termination of probably the best alternative music and new music culture station the UK has ever seen. The station cost per annum is apparently 6 million pounds, the same amount that the BBC's top earning TV presenter earns per annum as an individual -Jonathan Ross..
We are buy petitioning the BBC, to reverse their decision... WFMU is a Diamond x
