Annie, I've been to VA when the terrain was literally sheathed in ice. And that was in the 60s, when the climate wasn't that weird yet. So I'd know better than that.

back in the late 70's when i was in carolina, we had snow.. very weird for the locals and cold!! went down to the 30s. in my opinion, new york is now seeing northern virginia winters.. and climate. hot too soon and mild winters.

still workin on my first cuppa. Man, what a week! Street party every day starting around 4. Yesterday afternoon, we shoveled out our entire street knowing we aren't going to see a plow for several days... I've heard of people setting up grills and cooking out in the middle of the street all day. Excellent winter.
