Grand pianos in the surf, singing frogs, hyphenated psych, outtakes, live collaging, twangy drone, old folk, ephemeral pop, and the Grateful goddamn Dead.

Toronto Jim:
Hi Jesse:
I've from time to time participated in these forums on WFMU, but I don't think your show. I've listened since you started tonight, and have been kinda-slowly zigzagging my head to your thread, if you will. That Clancy Brothers was the key. Nice touch! I'll keep listening...
Mon. 12/7/09 3:34am
Toronto Jim:
Wouldn't mind some pop, me!
Mon. 12/7/09 3:36am
Toronto Jim:
Never heard these Art Museums before. Glad I did now.
Got any of the Steppes?
Mon. 12/7/09 3:37am
jj.:
Welcome, Jim! Glad I could zag to the thread!
Mon. 12/7/09 3:39am
Toronto Jim:
How about Honeybus? Now there's some sweet pop (well, 1/3 of their oeuvre anyway).
Mon. 12/7/09 3:39am
jj.:
Hmmm, dunno the Steppes.
Mon. 12/7/09 3:41am
Toronto Jim:
Steppes? If I were to send it to you immédiatement (via an e-mail addy or some such), would ya play it?
Mon. 12/7/09 3:44am
jj.:
Would love to hear, Jim, but I've already got too much to cram in tonight. But send away! jj1@wfmu.org
Mon. 12/7/09 3:48am
Toronto Jim:
Great! (I was just composing a follow-up e-mail in case I'd been clumsy.)
I'll send it (or two, perhaps). I think you'll like them. You might play them on a later show! (I'll bet that you will, too.)
And man! I'm truly enjoying your setlist so far!
Mon. 12/7/09 3:49am
Annie:
Hullo! We are streaming from Melbourne, Australia!
It' dusk and warm, and you are playing the perfect tunes to end the day. WFMU is so so ace - open all hours! CHEERS! X
Mon. 12/7/09 3:54am
Toronto Jim:
Hi Annie (and the other part of "we"):
I can imagine how the tunes are fittingly meshing with your Melbourne warmth-dusk.
Odd thing is, it seems just as well suited to my approaching-dawn here in Toronto, where the winter has finally at last blown in.
Mon. 12/7/09 3:55am
jj.:
Heya Annie! Welcome! I'd sort of planned for cold weather listening, but glad to know it works in warmer climes, too.
Mon. 12/7/09 3:57am
Toronto Jim:
Unbelievably apt soundtrack. These Majik Markers are making an indelible stain just now. Very cool tunes here.
Mon. 12/7/09 3:59am
Joshua K:
Hello night animals and europeans etc.
Mon. 12/7/09 3:59am
Toronto Jim:

Mon. 12/7/09 3:59am
jenny colon:
it's cold and rainy in northern california, where nightowl students are just finishing up their homework, drinking tea and shivering in poorly insulated houses. kurt vile is just the thing. thanks!
Mon. 12/7/09 4:03am
Toronto Jim:
And see! again? Jenny and her cohort halfway over to you, Annie, in N. Cal. also digging the same way as us all. Lovely. I too am drinking tea!
Mon. 12/7/09 4:06am
Joshua K:
Hmm I have an arduino at home. Thats some open source hackery.
Mon. 12/7/09 4:06am
Mr. Unpleasant:
The Temperature here in Missoula, in lovely Western Montanastan is a cool and comfortable -15 with the windchill factor taken into consideration. Was in NYC for Halloween. Kindda missing it tonight.

tramshed:

Mon. 12/7/09 4:09am
Toronto Jim:

Mon. 12/7/09 4:10am
tramshed:

Mon. 12/7/09 4:15am
Toronto Jim:
The plains always get winter first, and often the worst winters. Up here we get the "lake effect" which actually moderates winter a wee bit. (Still very cold, but damp) But Buffalo? Jeezuz, they get it bad every year -- something about the shallowness of Lake Erie...
Mon. 12/7/09 4:20am
Toronto Jim:
What just happened there? Nothing but eerie clicks and buzzes...
Mon. 12/7/09 4:21am
Toronto Jim:
Ah, yes -- the geiger counter!

Mon. 12/7/09 4:22am

Mon. 12/7/09 4:34am
Toronto Jim:

Mon. 12/7/09 4:40am
fbaube:
Fade away and irradiate...
Mon. 12/7/09 4:44am
Toronto Jim:
Bye all. Still listening, but my main computer needs a reboot.
