In accordance with recent trends, I would make Jesus a gay, abstinent vampire, struggling with not only his needs, but trying to find his place in a society that no longer needs him. I think this approach is good because while giving Jesus the modern spin he so desperately needs, it still kinda holds true to his original form. That or Adamantium claws.
