Hi, Scott, congratulations on your yeoman fundraising work!

Could you play something by Rick (Ricky) Nelson. I don't care if you play it at 78, pour boiling oil on it as it plays, whatever.

Thu. 11/19/09 12:08pm From: a visionary

Has anyone ever put a heating element under a steel turntable and melted a record as it plays? Perhaps one could do it with a heat lamp above the platter? If anyone ever does such a thing I feel it will be Scott Williams.

Thu. 11/19/09 12:09pm From: Cecile

Yes. But it will have to be his own turntable, and he will have to have his own insurance rider. ;D

Thu. 11/19/09 12:10pm From: a visionary

Scott williams, the man whose radio program has made LSD obsolete.

Thu. 11/19/09 12:10pm From: Hugo

Ich liebe Schwingungen!

Thu. 11/19/09 12:10pm From: dc pat

...so back to Hausu. Can't find a way to get my hands on this film. Suggestions??

Hi Scott, congrats.

Thu. 11/19/09 12:11pm From: Ike

That is a great ScottWesque idea, Visionary.

Thu. 11/19/09 12:11pm From: ?

more suicide club excerpts/songs!!! SW for president!

Thu. 11/19/09 12:12pm From: Carmichael

Or you could mash up Ricky with, say, David Lee Roth. Just thinking out loud.

Thu. 11/19/09 12:12pm From: dc pat

but what album would you use for this experiment??

Thu. 11/19/09 12:13pm From: Carmichael

DC Pat, IFC used to have Japanese horror movies on Friday nights. That's where I saw it. It always makes the rounds of these TV film festivals.

Thu. 11/19/09 12:13pm From: ?

use sean casssidy's doo ron ron.

Thu. 11/19/09 12:15pm From: Cecile

Thu. 11/19/09 12:18pm From: Scott

Thu. 11/19/09 12:19pm From: Carmichael

Playlist is not updating. Is this Wall of Voodoo?

Thu. 11/19/09 12:19pm From: Wendy del Formaggio

Haha! You came through on your "threat" to name your show today after Tuesday's lunchtime occurrence. Nice one, Scott.

Thu. 11/19/09 12:20pm From: dc pat

d'okay Carm, thanks.

Wall of Voodoo and Ring of FIre?? Nice.

Thu. 11/19/09 12:20pm From: north guinea hills

I ended up torrenting Hausu.

Thu. 11/19/09 12:24pm From: Wendy del Formaggio

I love Los Dug Dug's! I discovered them on the Love, Peace and Poetry Mexico comp. Wheeee!

Thu. 11/19/09 12:24pm From: MAC

that last part was too record noisy even for me.

Thu. 11/19/09 12:25pm From: Greg

Woah, Scott's shooting at like 1200%. Nice!

Thu. 11/19/09 12:26pm From: Gibby

That last track interrupted my housemates 'getting it on' to ask what the hell was going on. Which was weird.

Thu. 11/19/09 12:26pm From: north guinea hills

Ahh, this Dug Dugs track is on the Love, Peace, and Poetry (Mexico) Comp. Very nice.

wait, Wendy beat me to the punch (waves tiny fist)

Thu. 11/19/09 12:29pm From: Wendy del Formaggio

North Guinea Hills, no competition here! Brilliant minds think alike :-)

Thu. 11/19/09 12:37pm From: Jeff from St. Paul

Could somene tell me which show had Jody Stephens in for an interview the other day?

Thu. 11/19/09 12:40pm From: dc pat

Hausu: http://cultcine.com/products-page/asian-horror

Thu. 11/19/09 12:41pm From: LizGig

Scott, what was the total raised?

Thu. 11/19/09 12:43pm From: Wendy del Formaggio

Jeff, that was Joe Belock's show on Tuesday.

Thu. 11/19/09 12:45pm From: LizGig

Hurrah! I've been listening for only about 6 months, but the thought of a WFMU-free world was a very depressing one.

Thu. 11/19/09 12:48pm From: Ghost of Ricky Medlock

It is also my mom''s birthday - No kidding! Hooray for moms!

Thu. 11/19/09 12:50pm From: Gibby

Heh, thanks for the shoutout. Looking forward to that 28-minuter. Really liked that Low Red Center tune too.

Thu. 11/19/09 12:55pm From: Jeff from St. Paul

My moms birthday is months away.

Thu. 11/19/09 1:04pm From: dc pat

Man Scott, I'd be fine with sound collages all afternoon. This is amazing.

Thu. 11/19/09 1:06pm From: Jeff from St. Paul

I really want to crank this up at work, but I am nervous about some crazy spike in audio.

Thu. 11/19/09 1:07pm From: Scott

Glad you like dc pat! There's tons more where this came from on the FMA - follow the playlist link

Thu. 11/19/09 1:09pm From: Ike

¡Muy excelente!

Thu. 11/19/09 1:10pm From: Hugo

I never thought i'd get to hear Tonto again. Got it when it came out. This was truly pioneering stuff back in the day!

Thu. 11/19/09 1:11pm From: Stormin Norman

I've never even heard of this station before, I was just scanning through but now I cant turn it off!

Thu. 11/19/09 1:13pm From: Scott

Welcome Norman!

Thu. 11/19/09 1:15pm From: Where everybody...

NORM!!

Thu. 11/19/09 1:18pm From: Jed

you are freaking me OUT

Thu. 11/19/09 1:19pm From: north guinea hills

Ovo rocks!.

Scott, "running in place" came in handy the other night when i dj'ed at free103point9. You guys did an awesome job. Thanks!

Thu. 11/19/09 1:22pm From: Cecile

Norman, you will find that you will soon develop a love/hate relationship with this station, but ultimately you can't live without it.

Thu. 11/19/09 1:25pm From: north guinea hills

I've already mentioned this, but I've spent 3+ hours listening to "running in place" and am only 1/5 through side B.

Thu. 11/19/09 1:28pm From: dc pat

is anyone going to play the lockgroove album in its entirety??

Thu. 11/19/09 1:31pm From: north guinea hills

I've been attempting to, but i have to eat/sleep/work sometimes. I've also been fooling w/ the rpms (w/ my stunt turntable) and reversing every loop, which is why it's taking me so long.

Thu. 11/19/09 1:31pm From: Jeff from St. Paul

I made a $365 pledge during this Emergancy Marathon because I want that Lockgroove LP so bad. I can't wait to get it.

Thu. 11/19/09 1:32pm From: ?

scott, there is a chance that you might be the king of giant land.

Thu. 11/19/09 1:33pm From: Jeff from St. Paul

Do you you mean World-4 in Super Mario Bros. 3?

Thu. 11/19/09 1:34pm From: north guinea hills

Jeff, you'll love it! : )

Thu. 11/19/09 1:37pm From: Cecile

yeah. Paul Di'anno lives!

Thu. 11/19/09 1:39pm From: Looms (Fr)

This Iron Maiden track brings back old teenage parties memories... Haven't heard it for years, thanks!

Thu. 11/19/09 1:39pm From: Listener Chuckles

Thanks for the classic Iron Maiden, Scott! Steve Harris is a bass demigod.

Also, congrats to WFMU for doing so well on your Emergencython!

Thu. 11/19/09 1:40pm From: dc pat

I meant some one, like a Scott, from FMU playing it track by track on their show.

Thu. 11/19/09 1:41pm From: Hugo

Interesting question: How long does it take to play a locked groove record? Apparently, RRR Records in Lowell, Mass., is releasing a 1000-groove record. Sounds like one to get!

Thu. 11/19/09 1:42pm From: Scott

Wow, I'm surprised (and heartened) by all the Maiden love! Y'all need to see this documentary of their last tour, where Bruce Dickinson flies Ed Force 1 (757) and all the kids in Central and South America made me wanna cry. So great

Thu. 11/19/09 1:42pm From: Scott

Hugo, it's 1.8 seconds actually

Thu. 11/19/09 1:43pm From: Cecile

I'm not a Bruce fan, but their guitar players are spotless. But I love the world language of metal

Thu. 11/19/09 1:44pm From: north guinea hills

In 2002, RRR Records released a 500 groove one selected from the vault. My friend was delivering it to me from Kim's, when he decided to drop into a bar for a 4 hours, and the record didn't make it w/ him.

As Hugo pointed out, now they're releasing a 1000 groove lock groove record. Can't wait!

(Thanks Hugo)

Yes!, Gehalia Tazartes!

Thu. 11/19/09 1:46pm From: Hugo

Ach, AD der Zweite! Recognised the riff before I saw what it was on the play list. Is it easier to remember music than to remember names/titles?

Thu. 11/19/09 1:46pm From: Ike

Dang, I tuned out and then I missed Amon Düül II. But then I heard some Bettie Serveert elsewhere, so I can't complain too much.

I need to visit a friend with a turntable so I can play the locked-groove record!

Thu. 11/19/09 1:46pm From: Looms (Fr)

God bless Ghédalia!

Thu. 11/19/09 1:50pm From: Cecile

ah, a Gods Gift compilation. Truly a gift from the gods.

Thu. 11/19/09 1:51pm From: Jorge

Hey Scott, im back in spain miss ya guys !

Thu. 11/19/09 1:56pm From: dc pat

yeah, that's more like it.

Thu. 11/19/09 1:57pm From: Scott

Jorge, was great to see you! Looking forward to getting together in Bclna next May. Or sooner...

Thu. 11/19/09 2:01pm From: jorge

I hope so, remember that im here to help in whatever you need.

Thu. 11/19/09 2:06pm From: Hugo

Thinking ahead to the Hoof and Mouth spectacular next year, can we expect a Les Rallizes Denudes cover w/Scott in charge of guitar extravaganzas? That'd be something! On second thoughts, not very realistic, is it? But the thought's interesting ...

Thu. 11/19/09 2:18pm From: Brock

Host,
Could you tell us listeners what the bed music is?
Thank you.

Thu. 11/19/09 2:20pm From: Brock

Thu. 11/19/09 2:21pm From: ?

Thu. 11/19/09 2:24pm From: Jeff from St. Paul

Scott, can you just refer to yourself as "Host" from now on?

Thu. 11/19/09 2:24pm From: ?

thank you host
