Foreign Listener K:
In the Netherlands, like in Germany, they use euros - and as the exchange rate changes, that is about 700 euros - which is a very fine contribution. As for Utrecht - make sure you don't pronounce like a German would pronounce it, because basically no one in the Netherlands understands it spoken that way - however, I'm not sure that the American style pronunciation would work any better.
|
Wed. 11/18/09 2:42am
Bas, NL:
Ha, ha, ha!!! Great pronunciation! Were doing Euros here and.. the rate to the dollar is gooood.. So Europe, wake up!!

The moviegrooves.com site says this: Soul Sisters; The Sights & Sounds of the African-American Underground claims to be music from 1970s African-American porn movies, but a little bird tells us that it is in fact a side-project from the current San Francisco Bay Area scene that includes rocking electric jazz combo Om Trio (a group that's steeped in the 70s tradition of work by Miles Davis and Herbie Hancock) and psychedelic jazz rock groovers Mushroom.

The best and easiest way is to click on the DONATE NOW button at the top of every fmu page and answer a few questions.

Wlad:
I pledged (Berlin) | |
|
Wed. 11/18/09 4:12am
Foreign Listener K:
You can't shame me into pledging - I don't pledge, especially online. Instead, for more than a decade, I send checks. And yes, I miss out on the thrill of gambling in a haze of premium prize expectation, but then, I don't consider WFMU to be about profit - freeform is never about the money, after all. Except when the bills roll in, of course. Which is why cash in the bank is better than promises online.
|
Wed. 11/18/09 4:24am
(mta) Tony:
No one's trying to shame anyone; the better word is, "motivate." If you send money via snail mail, THAT'S GREAT! As long as you contribute, your conscientious is clear; you've done your part.
|
Wed. 11/18/09 4:26am
(mta) Tony:
BTW, Pledging on line STILL allows you to mail your pledge in. You don't have to make your payment immediately or over the net.
|
Wed. 11/18/09 4:29am
fbaube:
don't rag on wlad! he said he pledged!
|
Wed. 11/18/09 4:33am
(mta) Tony:
Naw fbaube, that was for "Foreign Listener K., not "wlad." wlad's cool. Listener K's cool, too. Everyone who donates in any way is cool.

My plan for the day: pledge to the station, get a wisdom tooth pulled out, go see Kuupuu and Samara Lubelski. Item 2 might interfere with item 3, though. At least I got the real important stuff covered.

last night i pledged(on the first show) 12.5% of my monthly income. im currently out in the neighbours garden picking poison berries, and building a primitive blender for a breakfast poothie(poison smoothie). they gave away no freebies on this show but on the best show ever with tom and monica they gave away zillions of freebies if u pledged during that show. i so sad;(, but u still deserve the cash. i an itsy bitsy sad. hope u easily peasily reach your target.
