Mon. 11/16/09 3:18pm esch oder anarchie!:

OK, I'll chime in here to say that I'm apprehensive -- but in a good way -- about what you've got in store for us, Clay. I fear oversaturation.
  Mon. 11/16/09 3:24pm BSI:

A rare treat to catch the great Clay Pigeon sans archives..... and tuned in just in time for Sparks. A good day indeed.
  Mon. 11/16/09 3:25pm Squibbleton:

We love you Clay! Romulus and Remus say hello.
Mon. 11/16/09 3:25pm RagnarR in SF Bay:

Off to a great & very rockin' start here Clay. Sweet > Sparks = awesome.
  Mon. 11/16/09 3:33pm jason:

so this is what uriah heep sounds like...i like
  Mon. 11/16/09 3:33pm BSI:

...don't fear oversaturation. Sometimes it's the only way to get CLEAN. Protein gets out protein, dig? Dig!
  Mon. 11/16/09 3:35pm gb:

sweeeeeeetness incarnate!!!! diggity most!
Mon. 11/16/09 3:37pm DJ Sonny Bitch!:

  Mon. 11/16/09 3:49pm M.K. Ultra:

Thanks for the Heep. Saw them live in 1973 with the classic lineup.
Love the early stuff too, like Gypsy and Look at Yourself. Keep rockin in the free world.
  Mon. 11/16/09 3:51pm BSI:

Holy crap, I haven't heard this escalator tune since it was new..... what a bizarre sensation...
  Mon. 11/16/09 3:52pm Carmichael:

I bought this cassette when it came out. I still stare at it occasionally.
  Mon. 11/16/09 3:52pm LizGig:

Escalator of Life sounds a lot colder than it did off the radio in the 80s.
Mon. 11/16/09 3:53pm Listener James from Westwood:

Wow, paleo-Ministry. Damn, it's been a while.
  Mon. 11/16/09 3:56pm Matt:

aw, miniSTRY.
  Mon. 11/16/09 3:57pm Swami:

Agh! Too challenging!
  Mon. 11/16/09 3:58pm Carmichael:

Clay, would you happen to have that one hit song by Triumph?
  Mon. 11/16/09 3:58pm LizGig:

Yeah, I'm not sure I can cope with this. The Sweet and Argent and Sparks and things were cool, but I'm having nasty flashbacks to pubescence.
Mon. 11/16/09 3:58pm esch oder anarchie!:

Reaching ... saturation... point ... glugluglug ...
  Mon. 11/16/09 3:59pm A:

A friend of mine once followed Billy Idol around Virginia Beach, dragging one foot behind him (this was shortly after BI's vehicle accident) and yelling, "White wedding!" until BI dispatched one of his attendants to scare him off.
Mon. 11/16/09 4:02pm Philly Boy Ubu Roi:

Thanks fer the Hazard! Nems good listenin'-'specially after the Iggles lost. Eh whill - bick t' der dumpster...
Mon. 11/16/09 4:03pm esch oder anarchie!:

Ages of rock&roll -- as in, seventeen and nature's queen -- know what I mean?

  Mon. 11/16/09 4:34pm Humbuck:

Ghost of Ricky? He's not dead

Jackyl, the only band to ever feature a chainsaw solo

  Mon. 11/16/09 4:38pm Wendy O Williams:

I played the chainsaw too.
  Mon. 11/16/09 4:39pm Humbuck:

Southern rock... the great polarizer.
So cool its hipster-proof
  Mon. 11/16/09 4:39pm BSI:

I don't suppose you have any Victor Buono in that magic bag?
  Mon. 11/16/09 4:41pm SF spike:

  Mon. 11/16/09 4:46pm fbaube:

Mon. 11/16/09 4:47pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

  Mon. 11/16/09 4:47pm Foster Brooks:

Hey Elvis, quit stealing my material.
Mon. 11/16/09 4:48pm esch oder anarchie!:

Mahogany Rush!
  Mon. 11/16/09 4:50pm Gypsy:

Nobody plays "Dead and Gone" anymore.
  Mon. 11/16/09 4:50pm Humbuck:

How many things is the big E zooted out on in that song?
Let's see if we can name them... Seconol anyone?
  Mon. 11/16/09 4:50pm diane:

Paul...please call me...I'm dyin' out here.
  Mon. 11/16/09 4:57pm zip:

this set list is boarding on commercial radio....
  Mon. 11/16/09 4:59pm Humbuck:

I sense a hipster...
  Mon. 11/16/09 4:59pm BSI:

Somehow I knew we'd segue from Alarm to Killing Joke: a seamless transition, that. Nice.
  Mon. 11/16/09 4:59pm anne:

this is bringing back a lot of memories!
  Mon. 11/16/09 5:00pm Paul:

No way, man. No more reunions in Central Park for a couple of years.
  Mon. 11/16/09 5:00pm commercial radio:

i very sadly agree this is commercial radio-esque
  Mon. 11/16/09 5:01pm AnAnonymousParty:

Nah, if this was commercial radio, you hear this same exact set every three hours. Or less.
  Mon. 11/16/09 5:03pm anne:

i don't think commercial at all. what radio station played the alarm or killing joke during prime time hours? i never heard it on the radio except from the teeny weeny weak-signalled tiny comm college station in suburban detroit, which this is taking me back to. go Clay go!
  Mon. 11/16/09 5:04pm v k:

kudos on show Clay Pigeon - so far so good!
Mon. 11/16/09 5:04pm north guinea hills:

Actually loving Clay's set, a pleasant surprise.
  Mon. 11/16/09 5:04pm diane:

shake your commercial booty, claygrrl!
  Mon. 11/16/09 5:09pm fbaube:

"She sells sanctuary" was righteous, it cranked mightily. The rest of their stuff kinda left me cold. But hey what the heck, go man go ! Got Canadian ? BTO? :)
Mon. 11/16/09 5:10pm RagnarR in SF Bay:

This Golden Earring tune remind me of The Cars' "Life in Stereo" aka; the pool scene & bathroom embrassment scene in "Fast Times at Ridgemenont High"
  Mon. 11/16/09 5:15pm Parq:

Commercial radio? In an ideal world, maybe. But no way would a commercial station allow this kind of bouncing from mood to mood, nor would they ever offer a personality as charming or quirky as Clay for an announcer, or indeed, any personality at all. And that's even without endorsing Annie's remark about Killing Joke.
  Mon. 11/16/09 5:16pm pete:

man, haven't heard this great Cheap Trick song in 25 years!!
tears a flowin' Clay..well done
  Mon. 11/16/09 5:16pm Humbuck:

Harumph!!
  Mon. 11/16/09 5:16pm Ben Stein:

Bueller?
  Mon. 11/16/09 5:17pm v k:

makes me think of Ferris Bueller's Day Off!
  Mon. 11/16/09 5:17pm josh:

clay pigeon, it is good to hear your voice not on tape for a change.
  Mon. 11/16/09 5:19pm fbaube:

Lettuce not forget, commercial radio in the 70s was beyond awful. This lad had to abandon rock & roll for george clinton & friends. Keep crankin' the 70s tho, lay it on us. Forward... into the past !
  Mon. 11/16/09 5:20pm cobber27:

Hey Clay, didn't you used to front a heavy rock band, hmmm?
  Mon. 11/16/09 5:23pm anne:

this...this song makes we weep. and sometimes, I hear it at rite aid or something and i just can't leave the store until the song finishes. a certain Huey Lewis song also did that to me at a bed bath and beyond. i'm totally serious.
  Mon. 11/16/09 5:26pm SF Spike:

yes - the original! not the No Doubt cover....
  Mon. 11/16/09 5:28pm scott NY:

NO COMMENT JUST LUV GREAT SHOW IT,S BEGINNING TO LOOK LIKE CHRISTMAS WITH THIS SHOW
  Mon. 11/16/09 5:28pm Parq:

Mon. 11/16/09 5:31pm Jay from Scotland:

Thanks for the trip down memory lane w Talk Talk and Golden Earring....
  Mon. 11/16/09 5:31pm Carmichael:

Man, a guy can't even go to the bathroom without missing 2 or 3 great songs. Good thing I got back for Patty Smythe and her fake Farfisa.
  Mon. 11/16/09 5:32pm Richard Hell:

Yeah, I nailed her...
  Mon. 11/16/09 5:34pm monica:

  Mon. 11/16/09 5:35pm josh:

  Mon. 11/16/09 5:35pm LizGig:

I've really been enjoying this, Clay, but I'm off to my bed. Looking forward to the marathon! Credit card at the ready.
  Mon. 11/16/09 5:37pm fbaube:

Hey c'mon it's not peach and teal. It's harvest gold and avacado green! The household appliance colors that draped a decade.
  Mon. 11/16/09 5:39pm Carmichael:

Isn't this Jay Ferguson singing?
  Mon. 11/16/09 5:39pm Kat:

Yes, Patty Smyth is the former Mrs. Richard Hell and the present (AFAIK) Mrs. John McEnroe. Which I find almost as hilarious as the Ministry cut we heard earlier.
  Mon. 11/16/09 5:43pm Fredericks:

Yes, Carmichael that is Jay singing. Thanks for rocking it Walter.
  Mon. 11/16/09 5:44pm Humbuck:

Black n' Blue... I'm out
Mon. 11/16/09 5:45pm randy in NC:

Wow, this could have been a playlist of mine when I did this on college radio in the '70's...
  Mon. 11/16/09 5:48pm josh:

stop it.
  Mon. 11/16/09 5:49pm Rick Allen:

Yeah, I got arrested for assaulting my girlfriend. After I lost my left arm!
  Mon. 11/16/09 5:51pm diane:

only nine more minutes...
  Mon. 11/16/09 5:53pm Humbuck:

Oh! Back in Black . . . I'm Back!
  Mon. 11/16/09 5:57pm diane:

NOOOOOOOOOO! i'm tearing up a bit.
  Mon. 11/16/09 5:57pm unkyhal:

If I had the chance to DJ on WFMU, I would also rock some AC-f'in'-DC!
  Mon. 11/16/09 5:58pm fbaube:

4 minutes? the final countdown
  Mon. 11/16/09 5:59pm Fredericks:

I hate Black and Blue too but I didn't bail.
  Mon. 11/16/09 5:59pm Humbuck:

Clay - you're great. I never left when you played Black and Blue, I just wanted to say it
  Mon. 11/16/09 6:03pm Carmichael:

Thanks Clay!!
  Mon. 11/16/09 6:15pm Charles-A.:
