Meghan:

  6:08am
Dave B:

I'm sorry for waiting til the 11th for for that one. Didnt mean to flood the mailbox. Another time....
  6:08am
Andy in Berlin:

Great opening song!
  6:09am
Meghan:

not flooding the mailbox... by all means, you can always feel free doing that! hehe
  6:09am
Meghan:

Thanks Andy! good morning!
  6:09am
Joshua K:

You can make a chumby wake you up to an internet stream? Maybe I should get one.
  6:12am
Dave B:

@Joshua - indeed you can! (so long as the interweb isnt broken)
  6:15am
Dave B:

and Meghan - I think I first hear that Scott Johnson record "John Sombody"on WFMU eons ago. I contacted him, and re-purchased the CD from him.

An incredible album, IMHO
  6:17am
Meghan:

Well i am curious none the less! Can't wait to take a listen!
  6:23am
Dave B:

Any chance you have Alfalfa (sp) doing "Little Brown Jug" on deck?
  6:29am
Andy in Berlin:

There's a parody song of Johnny Ray's Cry done by Stan Freberg you gotta play.

And for Thank You, how about I Want To Thank You For Giving Me The Most Wonderful Summer. Also Thank You Girl by the Beatles.
  6:30am
Andy in Berlin:

Hey wait a minute! What about a show of parody songs?
  6:34am
Dave B:

Thanksgiving by Mike Keneally from "Wooden Smoke"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pkLqt-9HOGs
  6:42am
Dave B:

How about a "Greeting" show?

Hello Hooray - Alice Cooper
Hello, It's Me - Nazz

etc...
  6:44am
Meghan:

good idea! I like that as a theme... maybe for the first show of the New Year...
  6:48am
Dave B:

Konichiwa Bitches - Method Man
Hello Teenage America - Meat Beat Manifesto
  6:49am
Andy in Berlin:

Does that mean that for the last show of the old year you are doing Goobye Songs?
  6:52am
Dave B:

Hello Lucille, Are You A Lesbian - T. Valentine
  6:55am
Dave B:

Wave Myself Goodbye - Rory Gallgher
  6:55am
Dirty Old Man:

Good Morning. Ya, the 60's. Nothing pithy to say today, working in South Carolina
  6:56am
Andy in Berlin:

Hello Goodbye by the Beatles could go either way
  6:56am
Meghan:

oh have fun in sunny SC....
  6:57am
Dave B:

for the Countries show:
I Ran - Flock of Seaguls

You KNOW you wanna play that song...
  6:58am
Meghan:

ha! for Iran? What a thought right?!
  6:59am
Dave B:

hee hee!

Hello, Goodbye - Van Hunt is another split song
  7:09am
Dave B:

OK - here's another double header (thanksgiving and/or greetings)

Danke Für Jeden Guten Morgen - Die Arzte

OK I'll shut up know. Gotta get ready for work. ~sigh~
  7:16am
Meghan:

And you could add world to that one as well.... Danke Dave!
  7:18am
Parq:

I enthusiastically second the suggestion for an all-parody show.
  7:20am
Meghan:

Morning Parq! Enthusiastically eh? I'll have to start looking at what I can pull up for songs....
  7:26am
Parq:

Well, I guess the challenge would be to keep it from turning into an all-Weird-Al show. Looks like today's show has been pretty good, too. I don't know a lot of these songs you've been playing.
  7:28am
Meghan:

That is the joys of these shows... you always come across stuff you don't know...
  7:42am
Andy in Berlin:

Love that Slim Gaillard one - great find! Oh reeney rooney!

I hope you don't forget the Evis laughing.

And one thing that just occurred to me, Bozo's Lauging Song. But it's probably too late now for that.
  7:49am
annie:

hi meghan!! early morning listeners.. !!
  7:50am
Meghan:

wow, good morning Annie! Rare to see you here so early!!
  7:51am
Janet:

Morning Meg !!
  7:52am
Meghan:

Hey there Janet! good morning!
  7:56am
Janet:

wow this wind is still crazy here
but at least the rain has slowed down some

hope your doing well this morning
  7:57am
Meghan:

Ohhh, you keep that wind and rain.... Don't let it blow up here!
  7:57am
Parq:

Those was some fine pills, huh?
  8:00am
janet:

bah you need some of this hurricane tail :P
  8:02am
Andy in Berlin:

this makes me thing of a good crying song - I'll Do My Crying In The Rain
  8:03am
Meghan:

I always forget that Hurricane season goes into this time of year...
  8:03am
annie:

yeah, meghan, my pattern is kinda screwy lately, this is the good part of that.. i get to be here.. !!
  8:04am
Jeff:

Great show, especially that R&B set, but it's funny how sad sonogs about laughing can be. The titles of the songs today all have laughing in them, but I think the theme is unrequited love.

I have many thoughts on the upcoming themes that have been mentioned, but I've got to get to class, so I'll bombard you later tonight.
  8:05am
Parq:

Sad, pathetic news appropos your background sounds:

http://tinyurl.com/killedconey
  8:07am
Meghan:

hehe... okay then Jeff! See you later!

I spoke with some of the vendors this past summer and they said that the city was going to try to buy it, but they felt it was for the better, since they know it's a landmark. So who knows. The private developers just picked a wrong financial time to try their evils....
  8:07am
annie:

"an exciting destination reminiscent of its heyday." that could mean almost anything~~~
  8:11am
Meghan:

I want someone who actually cares about the "heyday" and recreate it again... not make it this Vegas cheese...
  8:13am
annie:

ya ! word up meghan, what i said...
  8:14am
Meghan:

Wouldn't it be great to walk through the original Luna Park again?
  8:14am
messica:

that piano makes me wish i were in a saloon
  8:15am
Meghan:

wow, so early in the morning.... work started off that good eh?
  8:28am
Andy in Berlin:

I was just thinking of this one! Nice going.
  8:28am
Janet:

lol ashley and kelly love this song !! to bad they at school
wait no!!!!!! school is a good thing lol
  8:29am
Meghan:

It was the first thing I thought of when i thought of laughing....
  8:32am
annie:

i never remember the name of the song from blue velvet.. roy orbison, the clown song..creepy..
  8:36am
Meghan:

Clowns are just plain creepy... Thank you Poltergeist for making it worse
  8:38am
chuck in ct:

creepy,,,nico
  8:39am
Meghan:

Chuck? What are you doing in CT? Or are you a different Chuck?
  8:40am
chuck in ct:

different chuck
  8:40am
Meghan:

Ahhh! Yay a new Chuck! hehe
  8:42am
chuck in ct:

im usally up at nite ////but the music this am is good
  8:43am
Meghan:

Glad you are enjoying it! And glad to see you awake with us!
  8:44am
Parq:

The "Blue Velvet" number was "Candy Colored Clown". Btw, when I saw "BV" it was on a double bill with "The 5000 Fingers of Dr. T" -- absolutely the weirdest night at the movies ever.
  8:45am
binky:

Oh my. Modern English. Cringey.
  8:46am
annie:

i guess!!!!.... i've only seen those on a teevee screen and nor back to back.. were you exhausted afterwords?
  8:49am
Andy in Berlin:

that residents song reminds me of another suggestion for your crying show "Weeping Song" by Nick Cave.
  8:50am
Meghan:

Silly Andy.... did we really think that ME out of all people would NOT put in Nick Cave's Weeping Song?
  8:52am
Parq:

Annie, more like exhilarated. The crowd and the venue itself were equally strange. Meg, great closing set!
  8:52am
Andy in Berlin:

True. I am duly chastised. So I add another - Cry Baby Cry by the Beatles.
  8:56am
Andy in Berlin:

...and speaking of Roy Orbison, Crying Over You.

And here's a real challenge. Carl Reiner, Howie Morris and Mel Brooks as The Haircuts doing "I've Got Tears In My Ears From Lying On My Back In My Bed and Crying Over You" (or something like that) from Your Show Of Shows
  3:14pm
Andy in San Diego:

Enjoying the show, but can't stand the clipping. Is this a relic of MP3 compression, or are the levels just too high?
