Playlist for Brian Turner - November 3, 2009

Tuesdays 3pm - 6pm on WFMU 91.1 fm 90.1 fm wfmu.org

Order and disorder in a freeform haze of terribly played guitars, shorted-out electronics, found audio detritus, strange sounds from strange lands all around. Psych-punk-junk, collage, even pop. Lots of in-studio live performances to boot.

Tue. 11/3/09 3:16pm Cecile:

Ah, hypodermic needle.
I thought he was saying "I'll preserve it, Dino!"

Tue. 11/3/09 3:20pm BSI:

Cecile:
zinger of a song title, that.

Tue. 11/3/09 3:24pm north guinea hills:

I'm pretty sure the "hypodermic needle" sample came from Family Feud.

Tue. 11/3/09 3:25pm Owl:

Yo hey, there's cool version of that Fazendihna rap by a guest rap gal on Piracy Funds Terrorism. (Diplo and MIA) (i think...man that glorious Portuguese can sound similar, right? ;-) )

Tue. 11/3/09 3:29pm Cecile:

Tue. 11/3/09 3:59pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

Brian, the Puffies were on your show last spring, I'm thinking April

Tue. 11/3/09 4:09pm Tom:

Pretty sure the Puffys were on in Jan.

Tue. 11/3/09 4:10pm dc pat:

this tune has an interesting depth to it provided by the piano that is missing from a lot of mayhem-oriented, free jazz. You gotta hand it to that de Dionyso

Tue. 11/3/09 4:12pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

Tom, your memory is better than mine...I checked my mp3 that I downloaded, and it was Jan. My head's been bashed too many times at Puffy shows....

Tue. 11/3/09 4:20pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

another CLE tie-in. Got any Emeralds?

Tue. 11/3/09 4:57pm fcunmys:

Have you gotten a hold of the Crasch Course in Science boxset yet? It's supposed to be the definitive compilation. But they've only pressed 600 copies?1?
