Kristoffer:

thnx for great show!
that confusion/information diagram is so spot on - where does it originate from?
  9:22am
postmanpaul:

annie - thanks for reminding me i've got some!!! been otherwise distracted recently! they're fine thanks, tom is less than a year away from attending university already, jack will be out of his ivory tower in 6 months and ready to take on the world. and my darling daughter jo is in the thick of it, fortunately busy. how are yours my dear?
  9:25am
bw:

all the diagrams come from the internets! Crumb didn't like me much.. mostly the ladies were captivating his attention but we talked some!
  9:27am
annie:

is jo still interested in the stage? i hope so.. so much fun and a great way to express oneself. my kiddo is doing well. he is ekeing by in san diego; finally moved in to his own studio apt near the beach. he is happy; writing a new screenplay, sending out video clips of his work, looking for jobs.. he is finally rid of the "loose change" albatross, that has kept him so occupied these last seven year. his latest projects are intriguing.. if you do youtube, i can link you to his channel..
  9:29am
annie:

bw, crumb does prefer the ladies, to be sure.
  9:31am
postmanpaul:

must return to the office annie, pooo - pleased to hear your boy is also in the thick of it too, i'll speak to you soon about his channel!
  9:53am
bw:

  9:55am
dc pat:

man, for some reason it's good to hear Gary Numan right now. All I've been listening to all weekend is Dean Carter--guy was a genius.
  10:08am
Listener James from Westwood:

Oh, you were far from cranky yesterday a.m. And I think you were a lot more awake than some of our early-arriving guests. Even a pretty fall Sun morning in NYC can be a cruel mistress after a fun Sat nite. But that's why we have caffeine. And records for the buyin'. Excellent to have worked with you, and have a fine rest of the show! —James
  10:23am
bw:

I posted the video from the Synth documentary
  10:27am
dc pat:

THIS IS FREAKIN ME OUT, MAN!
  10:34am
GP:

BW, Good Morning...oh man the link to the Significant Objects site..how did you know that I needed more distractions in my life?
  10:50am
GP:

LOL... one of my coworkers said that it sounds like Scooby saying "Hot Tub"..or "Rot Rub"..instead of "Hot stuff".

Apologies to Ruk Chua Nirundon.
  10:53am
trs:

thank you gp -- 'hot stuff' ! The long distant familiar, but I don't recognize/remember the words..
  10:55am
GP:

TRS: Donna Summer ..disco era.It si weird because I just heard the song at Sat. night at some bar where they had a cover band playing mostly 70's hitz.
  10:56am
PMD:

Aw, I've missed so much! Hope all are well.
  10:58am
trs:

Back when she was queen.
  11:05am
Carmichael:

Good morning, Bee Dub and friends.
  11:11am
Carmichael:

BW, R Crumb lived down the road from me for many years, until he packed it in for Paris (I believe). I infrequently shared a glass of wine with him and listened to selections from his MASSIVE collection of 78s. Those were the days.
  11:14am
BW:

Carmichael, yea, I heard he is a record collecting fiend to an almost unhealthy level, but VERY knowledgeable about the old 78's.

Read some stuff about him online..he has a rather <ahem> interesting relationship with his wife.

Nice interview Mr. Walker!
  11:15am
Josh Glenn:

Thanks for having me on, Ben! And all you R Crumb fans -- we have some cartoonists/comics writers who've contributed to the Significant Objects experiments, including Ben Katchor, Dean Haspiel, and Annie Nocenti. Also, last week, we ran three cartoon stories written by students at James Sturm's Center for Cartoon Studies.
  11:16am
bw:

wow wow Charmichael - that sounds pretty amazingly amazing

he still is at the rekord thing.. I tried to get him interested in coming to the show if he comes back to nyc (the whole Genesis will go up at the Zwirner Gallery - all 200 pages - in feb)
  11:42am
Eric:

Thank you, mind-openers at wfmu! The more obscure the better, I love it. Significant objects site: cool!

new devotee from the Netherlands
  11:47am
GP:

Welcome Eric!
  11:47am
Parq:

If you will recall, it was via a mutual interest in old 78s that Art Crumb first got to know Harvey Pekar. At least, that's the way it's portrayed in the movie version of Pekar's autobio.
  2:03am
Pastabase:

Thanks for playing La Banda's!

Just one small correction: the name of the track played during the show is Videla's Jam, not Waitin'.

Best, Jose.
  12:18pm
LA BANDA´S:

thanks for playing La Banda´s too
sorry José but the name of the track played during the show is Cindys Jam, not Waitin´and not Videla´s
