Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn:

Maybe you need to turn the record over to play the other channel.
  9:25am
Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn:

It is the big hole in the middle that explains the allure of the 45.
  9:27am
annie:

  9:27am
annie:

  9:34am
annie:

  9:36am
postmanpaul:

i wouldn't mind acquiring a taste for that myself annie. is it really rocket fuel?
  9:39am
dc pat:

damn, this is beautiful, I *should* write music...
  9:39am
annie:

it's a very smooth drink, and this distiller is a friend of mine, she sure knows what she is doing..
  9:39am
jan:

the program sounds great!
  9:55am
Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn:

Was that a Compact Disc skip I heard?
  9:57am
dc pat:

man, I had some Hungarian absinthe and it was some serious, harsh, medicine. We were instructed to light a spoon of the stuff on fire to melt some sugar for it.
  9:58am
bw:

oh man.. only one hour in.. not sure I am gonna make it!! this is a lot of records on the floor
  10:03am
Cecile:

I kind of want to see it, but I can't see it being longer than 15 minutes, ever.
  10:03am
annie:

cheryl says that's the chech way and it's horrible way to serve it.. her absinthe is much smoother and no sugar is necessary
  10:04am
dc pat:

I liked the book but have absolutely no interest in the movie. I just sounds dumb as hell--you just can't make a movie out of that book. Whole different thing.
  10:04am
Cecile:

clock-sucker?
  10:04am
bw:

im tellin you - it was torture to sit through.. I even brought beer!
  10:05am
dc pat:

cook-sucker
  10:06am
Cecile:

Eh. I guess I just want to see Whip It more.

Or rewatch The Fall.
  10:10am
annie:

sorry, bw, i did like the movie, but was disappointed about the changes, too..the one thing i watched for was then ending where his dish of food was still hot... no steam coming off that chocolate cake.. oh cecile, i did see the fall... i had a hard time with it...
  10:13am
Cecile:

I kind of loved it, but it really drags you through the emotions. And is really disturbing on a lot of levels. It is one of the most visually stunning movies I've ever seen, though.

It is a polarizing film, though.
  10:14am
Ken From Hyde Park:

We may see the movie when the DVD shows up a the local library. Those Disney movies with that insipid "Yours to own..." intros make me barf, though.
  10:15am
annie:

yes, i felt the girl was put through too much trauma... i loved the science of sleep!!!
  10:16am
annie:

and i could not make it through the hurt locker...
  10:22am
Cecile:

She had a rough road there, but I loved that she ended up savying the day somehow. But as my friend put it, worst...babysitter..ever.

I made it through the hurt locker, but I'm told the second time is much easier and you can really enjoy it.

I need to see science of sleep, I have it TiVod. I am just too lazy.
  10:22am
stingy d:

it's moday mane, i'm gettin drunk mane!
  10:25am
stingy d:

early mane
  10:26am
annie:

worth every second cecile... science of sleep...
  10:26am
stingy d:

am i the only one listening to waaaay too much gucci mane recently?
  10:30am
stingy d:

  10:44am
Parq:

Joining late here; what movie were you guys discussing before?
  10:45am
dc pat:

I'm pretty sure we have a machine for looking into a man's mind..
  10:47am
bw:

  10:50am
dc pat:

Italian Sunglass Movie is my new favorite song.

  10:50am
dc pat:

SHIT! I mean Mekons!!
  10:51am
Cecile:

Parq, I count so far:

The Fall
The Science of Sleep
and
The Hurt locker
  10:51am
dc pat:

that's embarrassing...I gotta turn in my punk rock card...
  10:54am
Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn:

I thought Felix was saying "I crave accolades."
  10:57am
dc pat:

I think the Mekons tune is from Peel sessions.
  11:08am
Cecile:

los microwaves! OMG.
Do you have lawnchairs?
  11:11am
Minor:

Los Microwaves = BRILLIANT.
  11:20am
cb:

Yes! This Crayon is great!
  11:27am
R ! S K Y:

LOVE THE VIDEO CLIP BEN!
  11:38am
Ken From Hyde Park:

Note to self....don't leave valuables unattended on a restaurant table.
  11:41am
Ike:

*Were* they unattended or did somebody use the crowdedness to rifle through stuff while brushing up against it, etc.?
  11:46am
Liz B.:

A gal rifled through my purse as it was inside of another larger bag underneath my chair wedged next to the wall of the restaurant. She must have been crawling right under my chair and I didn't notice (my back was facing her table)! She managed to unzip every compartment of my purse, find the wallet and leave the restaurant unnoticed (my bf realized what had happened later... 2 gals came in and sat at the table behind us, didn't order anything, and left... with my wallet). D'oh.
  11:50am
paul:

greasy kid stuff!!!
  11:51am
Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn:

Liz - That sucks. Sorry.
  11:51am
dc pat:

Jeezus, that's unbelievable. Ballzy is what I'd call it.
  11:51am
Ike:

Holy crap Liz!

Anyway, based on the accents, I'm guessing that Komik-Kazee were not singing about Bloomfield NJ.
  11:52am
anyone to everyone:

anybody know what record player that is in the video? looks really nice
  11:53am
Liz B.:

Definitely ballzy! Thanks for the sympathy!
  11:54am
Emily:

what a bunch of jerks! sorry that happened, Liz.
  11:54am
Ike:

The last time I got mugged, at least they were decent enough to throw back my wallet after taking out the cash, so I wouldn't have to go back to the DMV etc. And they threw back my crappy phone, too. Another good reason not to have an iPhone.
  11:55am
Ken From Hyde Park:

<voice of Droopy the dog>

Know what? That makes me mad.
  11:56am
dc pat:

I have the cheapest piece of shit phone you can "buy". BUT, it plays White Riot when it rings and that is truly ALL I care about.
  11:57am
bw:

Ike they are FROM NJ!
  11:57am
dc pat:

HEY, is this JR tune a 45??
  11:58am
Ike:

BW, no way, really?!? Why did I think they sounded British?! I figured there had to be a Bloomfield somewhere near Liverpool or something.
  11:58am
bw:

um... sure!

:)
  11:59am
dc pat:

cheater...
