Thx Annie- had the 2nd graders on the field trip, the Sky Orchard was devoid, big hail storm, kinda sad really, all those apples drove their price down to juicing levels...
I have 17 trees in my yard, but this is their off year, all heirlooms, all get diseases, all taste yummy

Hey there to all the regulars, and Dorian too. Did my apple picking in September this year, but thank the stars for Greenmarket, I'm still getting local apples. Annie, winesap and staymin rule the roost. I'm also fond of a relatively unusual varietal called black twig.

parq, i fell in love with them while living in leesburg and working at a produce market.. love them!! they just don't grow up here, too bad..and i'll have to check out that black twig; i've never heard of it.. and thanks for your support last week. my friend's dad is going to be moved to a nursing home.. after all is said and done, lesson is this: heavy drinking all your life can lead to some nasty repurcussions..
