WE BE RIDIN DIRTY

Ridin' DIRTY - Bike-powered WFMU Radio Broadcast

Join Trent and Marty McSorley for an epic ride along the Brooklyn waterfront - broadcasting live from an 8-foot trailer attached to the back of a bike!

Featuring performances from Seabeast, Band of Bicycles, Hayden Cummings, and the bike-driven turntables of DJ Mistakes, demos of groundbreaking bike-powered composting technologies from Earth Matter, and liquid refreshment courtesy of the two-wheeled ladies of Delicious Beverages - and, of course, commuting-themed DJ sets live from the trailer while the caravan is on the move.

Many thanks to Bikki, Brian, and everyone at 3rd Ward for facilities, Chris Neidl at Solar 1 for solar-charged batteries, all of the performers and DJs, Delicious Beverages, and Travis Tench of Band of Bicycles, amazing bike technician and mastermind/pilot of the bike trailer we're riding on.

I freaking love this song (We Hear You). Heard it a while ago on your show and recorded it right away. Time to head out to get some drinks for my birthday though. Good night and good luck.

Mon. 9/28/09 10:36pm From: kendra

I'm sorry the ride was rained out and that we didn't make it to see your show tonight, but on the plus side, we finally discovered riding from Penn Station to Brooklyn is super duper easy.

Mon. 9/28/09 10:59pm From: Ken From Hyde Park

I got a couple bike stories for you. I rode up to Woodstock 94 and dim-wittedly chained it to the fence but didn't tie the back wheel up. Came back out 3AM and wheel was gone. Walked half-way back to Kingston with it before I could hitch a ride. Then for a while, I biked to work. The coldest day was in January when it was 12 above.

Mon. 9/28/09 11:20pm From: Ellen

Wow! Hayden Cummings! Get your web site up, so we can follow your trip!

Tue. 9/29/09 1:43pm From: Scott from San Francisco

The bike driven turntable is interesting. Can't tell if the speed of the record is dependent on the speed of the bike.

Tue. 9/29/09 9:51pm From: bennett4senate

glad that you guys played the trunk boiz - really wouldn't have been complete without.
