Hi Bob, thanks for playing "Sausalito Summernight." It was an airplay hit for, like, a week or two on WLIR when I was a kid. Haven't heard it in about thirty years but it's etched in my memory. Interesting to note that the only two songs I know with Sausalito in the title were by foreigners. I believe Diesel were Dutch, and the other one is "Sausalito Is the Place to Go," which is credited to the Ohio Express but which I think was recorded by Graham Gouldman and some English guys.

PS, if I remember correctly, "Straight Arrow" by Spirit was inspired by bassist Mark Andes' actor dad Keith Andes, after the band went to see him perform in the lead of a production of "Man of La Mancha."

Speaking of Sandy Becker and "Hambone," he was so popular with kids in the New York area that his use of Red Saunders' version of "Hambone"inspired Okeh Records to reissue it as a single in the early '60s. Enough kids bought it that it actually became a local hit, despite the record being a decade old at the time.

that Leo Watson thing was wild. Watson was voice of Prince Chawmin' in WB cartoon "Coal Black and the Sebben Dwarfs"

"The Duchess" was Bo Diddley's guitarist... I think "institution" fits for "insane asylum" these days.

Sandy Becker was also the voice of Mr. Wizard in the old King Leonardo cartoons. Bo Diddley's best known female guitarists were the Dutchess and Lady Bo

Hey, hey, hey. Copeland is actual MUSIC, not a "needle drop" background for an extended DJ. Use Yanni or Kenny G if need something in the background.

Joining in just for the tail end, but had to pipe up to say what a smile the chat about Sandy Becker brought to my face. I have such fond memories of that show, and I almost never meet anyone who remembers him.
