The game industry production values have gone way up, and they sell a lot more. So they charge more even though its cheaper to produce the physical product. | |

yes, the costs are high, but with aspects like multiplayer you get a lot of bang for your buck compared to other types of entertainment | |

But they used to be printed on circuit boards with custom chips on them inside of plastic carts. Printing a disc costs way less, so the profit margins are greater on the physical media, but production costs more cause you need a team of graphic artists, map designers, modelers, programmers, testers | |
