Cecile, when I was a senior the "new" ELO album was New World Record, and it was awesome.

Dum Dum and Ken, the Kinks are the *greatest rock band in the world*, not those pansies who stole that title. Soap Opera was a work of art.

Trapper, I have a whole friggin' iPod full of Helen Shapiro. The Picadilly Story is a great collection of her and others' work of that period.

Oh, feckin' Chroist! The Montclairs! I can't type fast enough.

they were the kids in early 60s British youth culture who were into the Who, Small Faces, amd soul music. very sharp dresses - long hair, no ducktails or leather like the Rockers who liked rockabilly and jump blues.

one thing that turned me rocker is going to see live rockabilly--you go see almost any rockabilly band and they'll blow your sox off. Mod bands, on the other hand, almost consistently blow.

An interviewer onces asked the Beatles whether they were mods or rockers. The reply was "we're mockers," but I can't remember which Beatle said this. And I'd like to hear some Mongolian hip-hop. Maybe later anyway...
