Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn:

these two have the science of friction all wrong.
  1:01pm
Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn:

Does friction exist in deep space?

Yes, when two surfaces rub together in outer space, there will be friction. Friction is a surface effect and doesn't depend upon there being air. There is also a force like air resistance from the very sparse gas in space, but it will be very, very small, since space is a very good vacuum.

Dr. Eric Christian
  1:03pm
Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn:

Thus, to describe friction in space as "nil" is just plain wrong.
  1:09pm
Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn:

Is the grating of Hall & Oates against your eardrums an example of friction?
  1:11pm
PMD:

I must say, I like the title of the song.

Maria, I like your aesthetic.
I can tell when something's a "Maria song"

as opposed to my own aesthetic which resembles a drunken, tasered cat dropped into a pool
