the fall is inchng closer. once the witching season is upon us, i will be getting heavy with horror flicks. it happens every year.

Wed. 8/26/09 8:22pm ANTS:

best show on the radio - thank you

Wed. 8/26/09 8:23pm garth:

i'm more a "round the year" horror guy--problem is all the good flicks are old flicks...

Wed. 8/26/09 8:25pm stingy d:

yea i'm seasonal. agreed though. new movies seem to have a sort of corrupted sensibility to them. i'm still happy to watch them, but they are too perfect. it bothers me.

Wed. 8/26/09 8:30pm mark:

this is great. it's like a zola jesus 45 played on 33.

Wed. 8/26/09 8:33pm chris:

once in a while a decent horror movie will pop up. i thought the descent was good. so was high tension. it's rare nowadays though, most of the best stuff came from the 70's and 80's. does anyone have any suggestions of good horror from the 90's to present?

Wed. 8/26/09 8:41pm Steve in Hudson Valley:

That coke is worth living for.

Wed. 8/26/09 10:32pm garth:

MUNCHIE the CAT is LOVING thee GRASSHOPPER too!!!

Wed. 8/26/09 10:39pm mb:

I mashed that up with Jackie Wilsons "Higher and Higher" to good effect. Sweet sweet noise.

Thu. 8/27/09 1:05am Wm.:

Tonight's Grasshopper set will be available as mp3s in late September on both WFMU's Beware of The Blog and WFMU's Free Music Archive. Until then, the archive of the broadcast is streamable.

ANTS -- I think the music bed you refer to was either from the Fiend soundtrack (see the My Castle of Quiet blog for more info: http://my-castle-of-quiet.blogspot.com/2009/06/screen-audio-captures-of-day-fiend.html ---If not that, it was the DVD menu (on a loop) from the Fearless Vampire Killers, complete with flapping bat wings....

Torbjørn -- more about Obligatorisk Tortyr: http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=5761 -- the CD I played is from 2000. Of course, I'd love to have them on!

Hails to all for listening!

Thu. 8/27/09 5:27pm Wm.:

During the interview with Grasshopper, we are talking over a loop from the DVD menu of Incubus; the one with William Shatner that's in Esperanto.
