Jonsey pointed out once that this song was written for the composer's dad. Made me hear it in a whole new light.

Years ago, I was briefly in a college marching band, and one of the numbers in its repertoire was that Bread "Everything" song. To this day, when I hear the chorus, I can hear the sousaphones and the bari sax (mine) pomp-pomping the bass notes.
|
Tue. 8/25/09 1:44pm
Cecile:
Nice, Parq! My favorite Bread song is that creepy one where dude sings about reading his girlfriend's diary.

I'm a huge West Coast Soft Rock fan. I love that stuff in a twisted nostalgic way. That was a great Sammy Johns song back there too, Joe. Now if you could play some Lobo or Walter Egan, that would be splendid.
|
Tue. 8/25/09 1:52pm
Cecile:
hahahahahaha, Lobo! I remember reading something about a Lobo fan convention in the mid-90s. It was 5 guys sitting on someone's porch.

I would like to note for the record that Lobo was on Pseu B's 2007 marathon premium, "Brit Fed-Exed the Playlist". Just sayin' . . .

Denis Leary once said, "If Judas Priest can be sued for making kids kill themselves, can I sue Dan Fogelberg for making me a pussy in the '70s?"

Carm, great line! I'm pretty sure listening to Fogelberg was to supposed to make you all warm and sensitive, like the guy in "Bridges of Madison County". But I don't think it worked out.

Carm, but of course. All the sensitive, warm guys of the mid-70s had beards. Went well with their checked flannel shirts.

Hi, I wrote the song "Come Back Baby" by Jack Eden with The Sundowners. Thanks for playing it. I also wrote "Hoping" by Terry Stafford with Pat Vegas....the gentleman who ended up as the bass player of Redbone....the first rock and roll Native American group. It's so nice to run up on some of my compositions from the 60's! Best regards, Hal Kee
