Listener comments!

Mon. 8/10/09 12:11pm GP:

A lone tumbleweed drifts across the stage....

It sure is quiet in here.

Hi Liz

Mon. 8/10/09 12:14pm Joe Steele:

Just got back from the Bronx and had to read through BW's comic.

I'm really sorry I wasn't on the comments thread for that one.

Mon. 8/10/09 12:14pm GP:

Well, I'm off to get some lunch.

Mon. 8/10/09 12:18pm Don Joe:

What can you tell me about Bathing Druid?

Mon. 8/10/09 12:21pm Liz B.:

Bathing Druid appears to be a guy and a gal, according to the photo on the 7" sleeve. They are leafy people with vines wrapped around their heads. Maybe there's more info on the Weird Forest site?

Mon. 8/10/09 12:25pm BSI:

it's a creepy synchronicity, actually, in that Chester happens to be my human name, and I've performed (20+years ago) under the alias Turnip Druid. Are these people stalking my dreams? Is that you in the sudafed, Bathing Druid, speaking to me??!

Mon. 8/10/09 12:36pm Taylor:

"Hard Rock from the Middle East" by Devil's Anvil is about to be reissued - has WFMU gotta copy? Love to hear "Selim Alai"

Mon. 8/10/09 12:57pm Chris:

Turnip Druid?!?

Mon. 8/10/09 1:03pm BSI:

Technically, it was The Reverend Turnip Druid.

Mon. 8/10/09 1:22pm jonathan:

between catching up on the weekend's football results and fixing up some tea for the family i've only actually caught the bits where you speak, liz. lucky i really like your voice huh!
and cheers BSI, you are responsible for my second audible chuckle of the day.

Mon. 8/10/09 1:27pm risky!:

YEAH LIZ! THE SPITS RULE!!! KEEP ON PATROL!

Mon. 8/10/09 1:27pm Rodri:

What about Kurt Vile & The Violators?

Mon. 8/10/09 1:29pm Liz B.:

Kurt Vile & the Violators playing live on Brian Turner's show Tues Aug 18th!

Mon. 8/10/09 1:32pm Rodri!:

Wow.
THANKS!!!!

Saludos From CHILE!

Mon. 8/10/09 1:36pm dc pat:

when you say "football", you actually mean "association football" correct?

Mon. 8/10/09 1:38pm bw:

how did the hummas spread work out?

Mon. 8/10/09 1:39pm Liz B.:

Hummus is nearly gone, there is still cheese, however!

Mon. 8/10/09 1:40pm bw:

I didnt realize bubble memory was so good too

Mon. 8/10/09 1:41pm Rich:

just saw Oneida w/ amps for christ opening... crazy to hear them in a row here.

Mon. 8/10/09 1:50pm Parq:

Whoa. Powerhouse opener. This should be a great set.

Mon. 8/10/09 1:57pm charlie:

Charlie from Knoxville sends much love to Jim and all in Dark Meat you guys rule

Mon. 8/10/09 2:13pm BSI:

speaking of futbol, it was friggin' ruthless at FedEx field yesterday. Real Madrid did what they came to do. And God destroyed me with that "sun" thing of his.

Mon. 8/10/09 2:16pm Liz B.:

The neon sousaphone has been brought out!

Mon. 8/10/09 2:17pm Jay from Scotland:

...fantastic antidote to all the Leonard Cohen songs played earlier today!!! Vive la difference!...

Mon. 8/10/09 2:25pm nyc:

When I used to eat meat I hated dark meat, but this Dark Meat is so good!

Mon. 8/10/09 2:35pm dc pat:

when I ate meat I LOVED dark meat.

Mon. 8/10/09 2:39pm Joe Steele:

Dog Hair Tumbleweed - Great name for a band

Mon. 8/10/09 2:50pm dc pat:

man, I like psychedelic crap as much as the next guy but I'm not moved by Wooden Shjips too much. Just saying.

Mon. 8/10/09 2:55pm BSI:

Blues Control is growin' on me like some kind of happy infection. It's like the best moments of Dave Brock's solo/demo work & Agents of Chaos, but mo'betta.

Mon. 8/10/09 2:56pm Chris:

Yeah, the new Blues Control is great. And I say Wooden Shjips are pretty amazing, but to each his own.

Mon. 8/10/09 2:59pm dc pat:

yeah, guess I'm just not getting it yet.

Sat. 8/15/09 1:39pm BW:
