A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Loretta Lynn carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

My word, there are a lot of vowels in this song title and artist.

The Finns are the linguistic opposite of the Welsh when it comes to vowels.

Did I say a little? No, a lot. And please, put down the harmonica. My cat ran out of the room. Cats hate the sound of the harmonica, it's true.

Trouble, thank you for counter balancing that scary, sloppy drunken Stevie Wonder song with this sexy, sassafrass chanson de satie. Merci!

my roommates cats aren't phased by any of my sounds. I can play piercing sine wave tones, and the cats will still just stare at me plotting my demise (as always).

fellow listeners or busy DJ, I apologize, but would someone be so kind as to tell me what is the best way to listen live online? Realplayer? How do I get here from there. When my realplayer comes up, I have no idea how to get to wfmu. Or any other software suggestions? I'm on a PC. Tnx

Usually the RealAudio or Windowa Media Player et al links are the best way to access WFMU streams.

Leslie, Try a program < google it> Foobar 2000. Install it. It will actually work around a corporate firewall if you are behind one. Once you get the program we can talk you through it. DOn't know about how to use Realplayer...sorry

Trouble and dear local listeners - speaking of Hudson County expeditions, have you heard that we now have a massive German / Belgian beer hall in JC?! Just don't drink too much before you go kayaking at the reservoir - that would be ill-advised. See: http://www.zeppelinhall.com/. It's the cousin of Radegast Hall in Brooklyn. Finally, JC has arrived!
|
Thu. 8/6/09 10:42am
Patrick:
well its not all oceans and sun i portland if that makes you feel any better. the bay is full of trash and sewage and the public transportation system is crumbling in the streets. we got plenty of street trash too... but on days like today, it all seems to fad away.
|
Thu. 8/6/09 10:45am
Leslie:
Thanks all. Maybe I'll try to figure it all later. I'll just listen to archives now - which I can figure out. Got to clean and tend to the children now. Sorry to be a bother!

Zeppelin Hall, far out! Not far from my little rocking apartment. Thanks, RW! (Though I never wanted JC to 'arrive,' really...)

JC arriving! I guess the atheists were wrong.
|
Thu. 8/6/09 10:48am
trouble:
i don't get what the big fuss is about this beer hall. It had a very college frat, fat security dudes in dark shirts vibe to me. sure it's nice to sit outside in the sun and have a beer but the visuals were so very limited. I'd rather have salmon and noodles at my fave vietnamese spot on newark
|
