Listener comments!

  12:04pm
Joe Steele:

I coulda helped in moving, I wasn't doing much. Oh, and good morning.
  12:09pm
Liz B.:

Ha ha, thanks Joe! Moving is never easy... especially when you have to clean up broken glass someone left in your new apt!
  12:09pm
GP:

A nice opening move Liz..and a good afternoon to you.
  12:12pm
Joe Steele:

Exactly, I was thinking about moving this summer, then I realized how much stuff I've accumulated since my last move and just renewed my lease.
  12:14pm
nyc:

This Zola J track kills!
  12:16pm
Spencer:

Aw, I love this song. It makes me so happy. Isn't this song by The Woods though??
  12:18pm
GP:

After helping numerous friends and acquaintances move over the last few years a buddy of mine finally got for his truck a bumper sticker; " You never know how many friends you have until you own a pickup"
  12:19pm
anyone to everyone:

very good song choice
  12:22pm
Spencer:

Yeah this playlist is great so far! Gonna leave this on as I tidy my room. Keep it up, Liz! :)
  12:22pm
Liz B.:

Ha ha, your poor friend with the pick-up, GP!
  12:22pm
Andy:

or until people find out you homebrew.
  12:25pm
GP:

Good one Andy.
  12:29pm
Joe Steele:

Andy! Buddy! You homebrew?
  12:38pm
annie:

long ago, as i went from apartment to apartment i followed a tradition of leaving a coffee mug behind each time i moved out of a place...
  12:38pm
GP:

Bleep Ship, Bleep ship, Bleep ship..say it..SAY IT, 5 times fast.
  12:40pm
annie:

i slit a sheet, a sheet i slit, upon a slitted sheet i sit!
  12:42pm
Cecile:

You should play Serpent Mound by Great Plains...
  12:43pm
GP:

Annie, that always cracks me up, somewhere deep down inside I'm still 12 years old and reading MAD magazine : )
  12:43pm
Wendy del Formaggio:

Hi Liz, congrats on your new apartment!
I am loving this Guinea Worms track. ooh, FMA...
  12:44pm
Marshall Stacks:

I knew some people working on Guinea Worm eradication. In Nigeria, not Cleveland.

This is not an editorial comment - I like this track.
  12:46pm
Marshall Stacks:

This one too (Cake Shop Girl). Good morning Liz B.!
  12:47pm
Turbo:

great show Liz! How about some DEVO
  12:47pm
Wendy del Formaggio:

Me three. I like this Cake Shop Girl song. Yay for Liz B and her crafty DJ ways.
  12:50pm
Rory:

Finally some Vivian Girls. Hey Liz do you know when these girls are coming out with a new record.
  12:50pm
Marshall Stacks:

Someone will eventually record Cheese Shop Girl, just wait.
  12:52pm
Wendy del Formaggio:

Oh Marshall, you say the nicest things :-)
  12:54pm
Spencer:

Yay! Kurt Vile!
  12:55pm
anyone to spencer:

dido
  12:56pm
?:

Has anyone heard Little Claw. I heard they have amazing live shows.
  12:58pm
frenchee:

hey Bergie, I'm experiencing droputs galore on Real Audio--at first I thought you were playing cursey-curse songs, but it happened when you did the legal...
  1:01pm
Cecile:

yes, they have been playing them quite a bit of late , ?
  1:02pm
frenchee:

Citay is very nice to listen to in a tense office
  1:02pm
Joe Steele:

This by the way, awesome, gonna download it when I get home.
  1:04pm
Liz B.:

THanks for the heads-up, Frenchee, will restart the Real Audio stream in a few minutes. Anyone else having stream issues?
  1:07pm
Ike:

No problems on 32k AAC+ or 128k MP3. Frenchee, try AAC+ if you have/can get Foobar, Winamp, or VLC. Best low-bandwidth stream by far. Kills Real.
  1:08pm
Joe Steele:

MP3 feed is fully operational here. I still find it odd I can barely pick you on the air from Secaucus, stupid cheap radio.
  1:11pm
Liz B.:

Ok, restarted the Real and Windows Media streams. All ok in real-land now?
  1:14pm
frenchee:

Hi Ike et. al. Actually I think I was on MP3 128, not Real. Cause Real sux!
So far so good....
  1:14pm
Chris:

Real Player is working again.
  1:15pm
Wendy del Formaggio:

I'm listening on the ol'-fashioned radio and everything sounds just fine, esp these Lexie Mtn. Boys. Ooo-eeeee!
  1:18pm
Wendy del Formaggio:

Hi Ike!
  1:18pm
Cecile:

okay, this must be me, but certain types of trancey chanting give me a really creepy feeling. I feel the same way about Prince Rama...
  1:21pm
dylan:

that lexie mountain boys track gave me such a headache
  1:22pm
Marshall Stacks:

The Aug 1 Trans-Pacific Sound Paradise had some excellent non-creepy Tuvan chanting courtesy of in-studio guests Alash. Check it out.

I like Prince Rama. This Lexie Mountain Boys track not so much.
  1:23pm
Cecile:

I will, Marshall.
  1:26pm
north guinea hills:

i grooved in spirals around fuzzy drifts of the lexie mountain boys...!
  1:30pm
Cecile:

Howard Bloom!!! I remember the Lucifer Principle - Spinonline even excerpted it.

Wonder what he's been up to?
  1:31pm
Cecile:

Bugs Bunny was tunneling to Pismo Beach in one cartoon - not an actual skit.
  1:32pm
a guy in a chair in a cube:

Pismo Beach was where bugs bunny was always trying to get to for vacation.
  1:33pm
Ike:

Hi Wendy! Eat any good cheese lately? Say, somebody told me that comte doesn't need to be refrigerated -- do you know if that's true?

And thanks for the reminder about that TSP archive, Marshall. I need to check that out.
  1:33pm
Cecile:

Exactly. He rarely made it, if I recall correctly
  1:33pm
Wendy del Formaggio:

Yeah, isn't that where Bugs was headed when he landed somewhere else (a bullfight, et al) and realized he must've made a wrong turn at Albuquerque?
  1:33pm
a guy in a chair in a cube:

he always took a wrong turn in Albagqworqi
  1:35pm
doug from dc:

Pismo Beach! All the clams we can eat! (from Ali Baba Bunny).
  1:38pm
Marshall Stacks:

Merle Haggard and Buck Owens, Bake-O's?
  1:39pm
Liz B.:

Yep, Merle and Buck were Bake-O's! I was a Fres-No.
  1:40pm
Sven O:

Santogold: sick bassline!
  1:43pm
Sven O:

Great pic on the homepage. There are so many good ones - I wish higher resolution versions were available. Someone please put in a request to management.
  1:53pm
Spencer:

Agreed on both counts, Sven. I've often wanted to steal WFMU's homepage images for my desktop background.
  2:09pm
Wendy del Formaggio:

Wowee, this Tortoise is different from the Tortoise albums I have. Time to add to the collection.
  2:17pm
Joe Steele:

Nels Cline? Say whaaaat!?
  2:22pm
Chris:

This could almost pass for Kemialliset Yvstavat.
  2:28pm
stingy d:

who's hungry? i'm sayin tho- what's up?
  2:31pm
chris:

Where can you get that 3rd/4th graders thing? It's pretty great.
  2:33pm
Liz B.:

Hey Chris, try getting in touch with Paul Rubenstein:
http://www.ubertar.com/
  2:34pm
Chris:

  2:42pm
Rachel D.:

  2:50pm
J©ityJensen:

  2:54pm
Rachel D.:

I'm digging the entire show immensely. I DJ on KSPC in California during the school year. Rad to hear some positive community radio vibes from the opposite coast!
  2:55pm
Liz B.:

Thanks Rachel, shout-out to the West Coast (I DJ'd at KDVS years ago)!
  2:58pm
Barney:

shouts back to KSPC. I used to sneak down there with dj-friends as a pomona student in the early 90s.
  9:31am
Erik:

20 minutes into the archive, digging it thoroughly. Let's hear it for new releases! Thanks for what looks like it will be a fantastic trip!
