Is that the Pan's People that were kind of a house group on Top of the Pops (BBC TV) during the early 70s? I wonder.

Seems like a good possibility. Whenever a group with a UK chart hit (slots 1-30) wasn't available to mime their hit, Pan's People performed song and dance routines on the weekly prime time Top of the Pops countdown show. It was on Brit TV during the years I lived there, 1971-74. They were pretty cheesy, but of their time and place. Hadn't thought about them in decades. http://www.bbc.co.uk/totp2/trivia/pans_people/
