  12:32pm
Editor B:

This is True West? Really? It sounds like a really cool field recording... not pop/rock.
  12:36pm
Cecile:

I love this. very soothing. which I need today.
  12:36pm
maria:

  12:52pm
Editor B:

  12:53pm
maria:

www.freesound.org
  12:54pm
lodi rocky:

day for night is also the name of a film by francois truffaut :D
  12:54pm
Cecile:

  12:55pm
Cecile:

also a song by Matthew Sweet
  1:00pm
dc pat:

anybody see when Henry Rollins was guest VJ on MTV about a million years ago? It was hilarious--he made fun of every band he had to play...Depeche Mode jogged that memory...
  1:02pm
trent:

THANK YOU VERY MUCH
  1:02pm
Cecile:

my favorite line from the Venture Brothers is when they're talking about Dave Gahan for some reason:
"He has to be gay! He's in Depeche Mode!"
  1:09pm
north guinea hills:

i do remember that episode, Cecile, hilarious!
  1:12pm
Cecile:

that show is such a fanboy/80s pop nerd lovefest
My husband laughs at the SF jokes, I laugh at the music jokes.
  1:16pm
Cecile:

YES HEATWAVE
  1:18pm

King Crimson - "Night Watch"
  1:44pm
Jeffersonic:

Years ago, the midnight nude swimming spot I was acquainted with was Lake Griffey, Bloomington, IN. Now it's Coquina Beach in FL (under police threat).
  1:51pm
Rob W:

There was "the quarry" for illicit swimming in Ann Arbor MI although I don't think I went at midnight. Would've been the right place for it though. Cecile - ?
  1:56pm
Katie:

Midnight swimming at the Palm Springs Motel 6 on tour with Run On in 1997. The stars were so bright it was as if they were three-dimensional. The mountains loomed above... the pool was surrounded by boulders... and it was hot as hell so it was great to feel the cool water on your skin when the air was so hot and dry!
  1:59pm
Adam E.:

Incredible version of "Sister Midnight." Do you know where and when it took place?

There's nothing like the Iggy of old--Nothing . . . menace, humor, a serpantine struggle of life-and-death. Who can compare? Why listen to anything that DOESN'T deliver like that? Why?
  2:01pm
Jeffersonic:

Warren Zevon- "Nighttime In the Switching Yard".
  2:01pm
Cecile:

Rob, never got out there, thought Lord knows I had the opportunity.
I'm more of a day swimmer myself.
  2:02pm
Cecile:

Katie, I am still so sad I missed you guys on that tour.
  2:03pm
Cecile:

but, yes, the quarry was the skinny dippin' sneaky swimming hole
  2:04pm
a guy in a chair in a cube:

IF that version of Sister Midnight was from the album I was just looking at on Amazon it was recorded in Clevland OH and it was the tour with Bowie on piano.
  2:07pm
Jeffersonic:

John Fahey- "Night Train to Valhalla".
  2:07pm
maria:

yes, cube guy, that's right, thanks
  2:10pm
Cecile:

Midnight Confessions by the Grass Roots
  2:16pm
Gary:

Ween - "It's Gonna Be a Long Night", from Quebec
  2:16pm
uuee:

Katie is right, Palm Springs, in the wee hours, at my sister's home, in the backyard pool, after a loonngg day at D'Land, with 6 youngsters. The pool was at the foothills of the Jacinto Mts. coyotes yipping, full clear sky, a glass of wine, & a little something, of which, we imbibed the smoke......Aaaahhhhh!
  2:20pm
Cecile:

maybe I'll try an evening swim in the UP when I'm up there in a week or so. The water tends to warm up, relatively, at night.
  2:27pm
Maria:

Hey all you creative types listening out there. Think about putting together a 2-3 minute film noir sound collage. Can include music, sound effects, spoken word. Think dark, nighttime, not necessarily spooky... You have til the end of August to get it together. Put it on a cd. Send it to me here at the station. I be reminding you every week for a while.
  2:30pm
Cecile:

That sounds fun. I'll think of something.
  2:35pm
dc pat:

I'm on it..
  2:37pm
Rick:

Hey. Rick Beatty here. Can I put something together as a mp3 and send it?
  2:40pm
maria:

Hey Rick- ok, but I prefer a hard copy. I'll let you know where to send it
  2:45pm
dc pat:

hey, good version of the Specials tune. Nice!
  2:48pm
?:

Hard copy it is. Good show today.
  2:49pm
Rick:

That last comment was from me.
  3:01pm
Trick:

No, it was most certainly NOT.
  3:03pm
Kate:

Mickey rules. Thriller is a kick ass song!
